    One thing I've never been able to get into growing up has been comic books. Not because I don't think superheroes are awesome. More because I fell in love with baseball and have always collected baseball cards.

    But, being surrounded by this awesome community and the culture here at Paragon, I can't help but be curious enough to start reading. So, I come to you, City of Heroes community. Tell me what the best way to get into them would be. Where do I start?

    I'm sure there's some subculture stuff out there that can bring heated conversations, so please don't let it fall to that.

    There is no "system" really. We pick an item to offer up as a Freebie Friday item and we set its cost to zero for the day. If you already own it, then we encourage you to come back next week when we'll have a new item available to you.

    The item is given to you through a Market transaction. You go to the Paragon Market, select the item, add it to your cart and check out. The only difference is that it costs you zero paragon points. If the item isn't something you want, you're more than welcome to not put it in your cart.

    Everyone will get the same item when they go to the store on Freebie Friday. There is no random component to it.

    Remember, it's a pilot program. It's subject to change and we're looking forward to getting your feedback. For now, just know that when you log in tomorrow, you'll have a free item waiting for you in the market.

    When Hulk punched Cap, my buddy looked at me and said "wow, that was the best part of the movie..."

    Until we saw Hulk remodel Stark's office with Loki's face.

    This was the best superhero-themed movie ever. If anyone says otherwise, they deserve to be on the receiving end of the Hulk vs Loki treatment.

    As you may be aware, City of Heroes won the vote earlier this week to be featured as part of Massively's new "Choose My Adventure" series. Part 1 of the series can be found here.

    The author of the story, MJ, hasn't played since 2009. As you and I both know, a lot has changed in that time! While we certainly don't want to influence the decisions she makes along the way (that's for her readers to do) we do want to give her pointers on what things she should or shouldn't be doing in order to get the most out of her time in game!

    So, what advice would you give to someone who's just logging into the game for the first time in two or three years?

    Keep in mind that many decisions will be made for her along the way based on readers' votes. Red vs Blue side, AT selection will all be decided for her.

    We share your concerns about Ustream.

    We're hopeful that streaming from a location where there's significantly lower bandwidth usage than here at the office will lend itself to a better stream for viewers.

    We were evaluating an alternative but found that it didn't meet our needs for broadcasting. Given some more time (post-summit) we could probably find something suitable but for the Summit, we have to go with what we know.

    It's that time again. The City of Heroes Player Summit is nearly upon us!

    We know that not everyone is able to make the trip out to California for the event, so we'll be streaming the event live on USTREAM. This way, you can sit back in the comfort of your home, favorite coffee shop or underground lair and enjoy the festivities.

    You'll find the event schedule in this post.

    We'll start the stream around 10:00AM PDT on Saturday, April 28 and we'll do our best to field questions from the stream during the panels. Our USTREAM channel can be found here.

    As many of you have noticed, with issue 23, we'll be introducing a new Tier 9 VIP Reward - the Mecha Armor Costume Set. We hope you've got your tokens ready!

    We wanted to make this clear - once the Mecha Armor goes live, the Celestial Armor will no longer be available as a VIP reward. Fear not, if you do miss out on the Celestial Armor, we'll eventually reintroduce it via another method at a later date.

    I was hoping to see this, and had my wife on board by saying that Mr. Whedon co-wrote and produced it but completely lost her when I said something about horror or thriller. Looks like I'll have to see this when it's available on-demand.

    I hear it's quite the good time though. Bummer.
