Hey all, I just started a dark/kin corr and am leveling him up, albeit slowly. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the combo at later levels and what the combination feel like later in the career. I do understand that dark can be a slow leveling primary, but love the combination of TT and NF, so any thoughts or comments would be most appreciated. BTW I have hardly any experience with /Kin, but have read up on several guides for it. Appreciate any help you can all give me.
As a side note, Corruptors are my favorite at and have a fire/dark 50, so I'm just looking to try something new. -
Thank you for your replies. I have to admit that I was a bit worried about ET taking my health and forgot how well WP would help mitigate that! I also plan on supplementing my def and res w/ tough and weave. So it does look like WP is one of the best secondaries out there.
As a side note, when did Barrage end up doing more damage than energy punch? -
Hey all Brute masters out there. I usually play corruptors and am thinking about creating a brute I have an idea for, but am not sure if I should go em/wp or em/sr. I do tend a solo about 60% and team on tfs, trials the rest. I also have a good amount of inf saved up to invest for IOs, but honestly am not looking for a build guide, just fellow gamers opinions and thoughts concerning the different pairings. I have tried WP in the past and enjoyed it, but have always been interested in starting a SR toon. I do not farm, but would like to up the difficulty when I can. Thank you in advance for your time and effort.

I would have to agree that I think these new incarnate trials don't really seem to be pushing the boundries on what "epic" or even "incarnate means" at least in the terms that COX is looking for.
They do seem more like side objectives some normal level 50 hero or villain should be performing, and well since you do not need to have the incarnate slot unlocked, I guess what is the intent. The problem is that actually the Apex and Tin Mage tfs have incarnate requirements when these Trials, which should be harder and furthering the plot line aren't. The trials are actually on a scale lower than the Apex and Tin Mage tfs because those actually need Incarnates to use.
These trials are using better mechanics of gameplay, but as far as story goes they are uninteresting and don't seem to push the story along. Also just a suggestion, but I would like to see baddies that are only incarnate, instead of seeing bosses that I can pummel 1x1 in a story arc, cough marauder cough, and than see again as an incarnate. It really takes the uniquenesss away for me personally.
And by the way, can we be more mature than to insult people for offering up a different opinion. Its an opinion, and is as valid as any other, there is no reason to subtly or overtly insult someone for having a different opinion. -
Let me answer this question briefly (or not so briefly as it turns out), for myself.
I do worry about the homogenization of what the Incarnates will bring, but more specifically I personally am worried about how hamfisted some of my characters will be into the Incarnate system.
Let me clarify what I mean. I have a level 33 Ninja Blade/Ninjitsu stalker that I created. I love his costume and loved it when ninja sprint was added to the game, but stopped him dead at level 33 because at the time, the PPPs, since GR had not come out at this point and the coolness of APPs for everyone, did not fit his ninja concept. Now I can take him to 50 in order to extend his ninja theme, but have not do so for various reasons. But my problem now with the Incarnate powers, such as the Judgment slot is that he will have to use powers that are not ninja themed. I do understand that I can explain anything away in my head, but personally in my head a ninja does not shoot ice shards, electric bolts, fireballs, or negative voids out of his being. So now due to the implementation of the Incarnate slots, I have lost this toon's theme. And that makes me not want to level up some of my toons due to the limitations of the Incarnate slot, I have just described. This goes for my my ultimate dream of having an all natural toon such as my DP/Traps corruptor.
Although I do have a fire/dark corruptor that I love and will be able to greatly benefit from the Incarnate slots, for me personally with my own thoughts concerning theme continuity, I am saddened that many ideas I have for a myriad of other characters have just stagnated due to not feeling like their themes have continuity into the Incarnate system.
I know this post now feels more like a Samuel Tow post (no disrespect Sam), but to be honest the Incarnate slots are a bittersweet feeling for me. I feel like a lot of toons themes are now limited due to how the Incarnates slots have been implemented and do hope greater customization is granted later on down the road, although I do doubt that happening. Since my fire/dark corruptor is my main toon I am very excited for the Incarnates. And right now loving that I can go with 2 of the Judgment slots with him thematically, but sadly enough not every character fits so neatly into these 4 themes. I do worry about the homogenization of our toons themes in the future, since such a high damaging power is only going to have 4 available themes for it at the neglect of all the other cool power ideas they have implemented in the game over the past 7 years.
Which is a reflection of my own thoughts concerning the limitations of the APPs (don't even get me started on my negative thoughts concerning the PPPs) in helping people to perpetuate a theme for a toon they have only to be redirected to APPs that lost the theme. Radiation and Soldiers of Ararchnos come to mind here. And i mention Arachnos, because to me an arachnos mace is not a continuation of my crab spider, or widow, or fortunata. This is also echoed in the APPs and PPPs not having power custimization, another limitation that I feel drops a theme that is established in the primary/secondary power selection. -
So setting up Time Bomb won't be breaking stealth, gotcha. That was my concern regarding the set up, but I'm also sure using smoke grenade will also help as well. Thank you, as this would help free up a power slot for me to use on a power pool. Thank you.

Hey fellow Blasters, just had a quick question regarding other peoples experience with Sleep Grenade from the APP. I have a DP/Dev blaster that I am leveling up. I know,I know its DP/Dev, but I love the concept and was wondering how effective Sleep Grenade would go with it.
I do plan on taking Cloaking Device and probably buy a stealth IO to put into sprint and was wondering if Sleep Grenade would be effective. I was thinking about using sleep grenade and laying down Time Bomb, yes I am aware of the dubiousness of that power, but thought it might be an effective combo to take out a group, while I fight another group. Anyways, any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
BTW sorry about the misspelling of grenade in the title. -
This message is specifically to Championess, because I hope he/she reads this and for others to note so we can stop this stupid argument, in so far as I see it.
What it looks like to me readings the last few pages is that Championess is angry that he/she resubbed to this game with the intent of playing I19 this week, due to the devs wanting to release this game on the 16th-ish. It seems as if Championess is just arguing because he/she wants to blow of steam and vent. Championess does not seem to comprehend that in his/her view of what would make him/her happy, i.e. I19 should have been released with bugs, would have prevented some ATs from working at all. Clearly Championess is a bit egotistical and it should be advised to ignore him/her from now on, because all the valid arguments have been made at to why I19 was not released this week and he/she is coming up with any argument he/she can in order to support his/her view that he/she was unjustly aggrieved by resubbing and "wasting" money.
This is only a game and the prudent thing would be to delay the release because of the inherent fitness bug that was recently addressed, but needs time to be properly tested. I too would have loved to have I19 released this week, but to release the issue in the state it was on the 16th would have been foolish and caused a lot more headaches and complaining than delaying it. If anyone cannot see these reasons and understand the delay, than no amount of arguing or using logic will help someone "see" the light. They are already in their own little cave and do not pay attention to differing views, because they choose not to. Can we please stop wasting time trying to "help" someone who clearly does not want to listen to reason and wants to validate their feelings and reactionary attitude. -
I rue the day that Alanis mislabeld unfortunately and sometimes sad events as ironic. She has mislead and miseducated millions of Americans (and possibly Canadians too) about the definition of ironic. How someone who seems so intelligent get such an easy concept so wrong baffles me.

I thought City of Sidekicks was a funny piece. My view of April Fool's Day, especially regarding MMOs is that they are kind of expected and not really there to "prank" anyone. I actually enjoyed reading about it and how the Devs would have enacted it! In fact it even made me long to read about City of Henchmen, which would probably make a very funny mmo in and of itself. Anyways, April Fools pranks are kinda childish and usually based on sophmoric humor, but if you expect it and actually look for it, its more of an inside joke than anything.
