Dark Armor is a great secondary if used correctly, but using it has a heavy price and I don't feel the mitigation in high stress situations is really that much better than other secondaries to warrant the cost. This is my attempt to get Castle to make some tweaks to the set:
~ Change the endurance cost of Dark Regeneration to something more reasonable. Charging over a third of a bar of Endurance for a self heal in a set that uses resists and heals for mitigation is harsh. I would like to see the base endurance cost reduced to 20.
As comparison, Reconstruction is only base 10 endurance. While it has a longer recharge and cannot benefit from healing from multiple foes, it has the benefit of not needed a hit check and it can be used between battles to recover health safely.
~ Now that Cloak of Fear can only affect minions with Fear, fix the stats on it. A couple things COF never had a 75% acc it had a 95% base and was nerfed to it's current levels back in I4-I5 due to pvp and the mag was reduced from 3 to 2 and yes it's endurance does need adjusted

Blessing of the Zephyr removed my desire for KB since I'd be stacking multiples anyway. I don't think at this point that Castle is going to turn around on the whole /Fire and /Dark knockback issue. But if that happened then great.
Dark Regen is ridiculously over priced for a 30 second recharge heal and needs to be brought down. 20 end is still twice what Recon pays.
CoF is hurting in PvE. Don't get me wrong, I don't want people perma-feared in PvP either. I have no problem keeping it's PvP stats lower.

I would love COF to have a base acc of 75% like it should the mag 2 had a greater impact on pvp than anything else but it was over nerfed and it has never been addressed
Then again how long did it take Invulnerability to get adjusted.
I would hope they could tweak some sets that need small love /da and lets not even talk about the poor EA brutes
Maybe one day the dev team will look at /da again -

Actually, maria has a random non arc mish that has anti matter. I remember saying to myself the moment I do things in order so I get antimatter, I ended up facing him 3 times. This isn't including the times he teleports douring the tina story arc. The problem is, sometimes maria won't give you more missions after tyrant. I don't know what triggers that.

You're wrong about this, Tina has 3 encounters with him, the one he telports out of, the final arc mission and another (non-arc) with 10 or so glowies. I keep this one for friends who need him and just kill him and never click the glowies.

You're funny. He already stated that he has successfully run through Maria Jenkins' arc, specifically by saying that he defeated Tyrant, the final AV for the arc, so it's pointless to tell him to run it again. Also, you're completely wrong about A Hero's Hero having all 13 of the AVs for Dimensional Warder. While the arc may contain 15 distinct AVs, Tyrant, Shadowhunter, and Mother Mayhem do not count for the badge. Go ahead and try running A Hero's Hero without running The Praetorian War. No matter how many times you run it, you still won't get Dimensional Warder. You'll only get the same 12 AV credits that everyone else gets. To get the 13th (Anti-Matter), you've got to do the 40-45 level arc for Tina Macintyre, who is the only contact in the game that offers fights with him. He's especially annoying because the only times you fight him (and actually get the kill credit) are the very last mission of said arc and a couple follow up missions for Tina after the arc is completed if you haven't already out leveled her.

I know this isn't a scrapper specific thing, but since a lot of you have done her mission line to kill AVs, I thought I would ask here. I just finished the Maria Jenkins missions and finished soloing Tyrant, and now I'm looking to Tina, not only for her AVs but for the Portal Jockey badge as well.
Problem is, I can't seem to be able to speak with her. Anyone know what contact to go to that will eventually introduce me to her, much like I had to talk with Unai to talk to Maria?

It's a good attack chain, but Greater Fire Sword takes 2.51 seconds, while Fire Sword recharges in 3.34 seconds. So it looks like you have a 0.83 second gap?
If so, you could do more damage just by shortening the gap. Your other attacks recharge fast enough to be gapless, so Fire Sword is the only sticking point. Basically, you want the highest recharge you can get in Fire Sword without big compromises. If it were me, I'd drop the Pounding Slugfests (44.9% ranged defense is good enough), put in a Hecatomb dam/rech and dam/end/rech, and probably finish off with a Mako's acc/dam/end/rech. That gets your gap down to 0.08 seconds as well as getting you the +15% accuracy bonus, which is nice.
Still, sounds like your damage is good enough, and it would probably only add about 5% DPS, so it's hardly a high priority.

That was my plan then the purples skyrocketed in price so I am kind of stuck until I build tons of cash and I hate playing the market that much to generate that type of inf need to get a purple now.

Yes I have aidself and I have less recharge than most and no hasten in the build. My chain right now is GFS> firesword > Incinerate > Cremate >firesword rinse repeat I am playing with that some since I added a second lotg to the build I was also farming a posi mission to get it this weekend
Realize I am running at 45+% damage buff with 1 target in range. I do not have Werners or others handy dandy attack chain spreadsheet so I have gone totally by feel and experimenting on my attack chain
I went at this build with a different approach just to see if my concept of softcap + damage build could solo an AV without hasten and tough weave. Just a different approach and I am totally happy with the way the build plays. Here is the data chunk on my build if you are curious.

It depends I went resistance to get a set bonus to get to get to the soft cap a 5 slotted aegis gives almost 5% aoe defense -

Night star took the longest and the more than two attempts being lvl 51 more regn rate to over come and a few snake eyes later I be eating dirt and have to start over -

"You have to believe its possible" is really the only mandatory requirement: the others are just helpful. In fact, when I soloed my first AV (like back in I1 I think) I didn't even know *that*. I was just willing to try. Over and over again. So perhaps "you have to be willing to make the attempt as many times as it takes" is really the only actual requirement (I once took 30+ attempts to solo the Envoy of Shadows as a +2 AV with my level 37 Ill/Rad).

I hve to agree with you here. Back in I4 when I started I got to the Doc Vahz mission, and didn't understand what an AV was. My entire attack chain was the super gimped Swipe and Strike (original animations). And yet, I almost beat him. The only thing stopping me was that practiced brawler wasn't perma yet. It would wear off, I'd get stunned, then without my defenses he'd rip me a new one. At the time I was 3 slotting my defenses because I'd read on the forums SR got to the point of being unkillable and I wanted a challenge.
It's been ten issues since then. The base values for SR got halved, and the maximum amount we can enhance to got halved. I look at how much defense I have now with 3 slotted defenses and no IO sets, and I'm amazed at how powerful I would have been even with my 'gimped' build. I would have been at the soft cap with just 3 slotting for pete's sake!
I do want to try my hand at AV soloing, but first I'd need to actually IO my build up. I'd want to have 45 defense pre-elude. Right now my limiter is that after 3 minutes of flooring the AV's chance to hit... I run out of endurance and thus have barely any defense.

back then 45% you still sucked I was running somewhere in the neighborhood of 125% with perma elude. The 45% mark did not come in until I5 with the global reduction
Then of course back then hasten gave you 5% defense ontop of the recharge -
OK I did it but you will have to sacrifice some recharge not a lot but that is part of the shield way to get to the softcap
Also I made a change to stamina because you get more out of the endurance proc in there then in dark consumption also you may want to look at reordering the powers so if you decide to examplar your build will not hurt so much. That is my suggestion take it or leave no big deal there just a suggestion.
I also made a change to siphon life as a suggestion since you want to solo AV's and your attack chain you have more than enough +endurance in the build so you lost a little there but in the long run with conserver power and hasten etc you will be fine

It will be a problem with AV's and even soft capped you need it also realize that quite a few psi attacks late game have no postional defense and you will get chain mezzed by carnies and the like -

Which I think is probably true. So yeah, I'm sure that if you got enough Recharge and Defense into your Claws/Regen build, it could solo some AV's. I've never played that combination before so I don't know how hard to build/expensive it would be, but I'm sure it could be done.
However, I think that certain combinations are going to do it more easily than others.
My Dark/Willpower has been soloing AV's pretty well so far. Anything/Super Reflexes, especially Dark/Super Reflexes are popular AV soloers. /Shield is becoming popular as well, I think. I believe that I heard that Shred Monkey has a Dark/Shield Scrapper that can solo AV's in under three minutes or something like that. Of course, that's Shred Monkey, so...well, he's exceptional, heh.
But anyway, yeah, I'm sure it could be done. And people here on the forums are usually more than happy to offer advice so you'd have a good sounding board for your AV soloing build as you build it.

I done Marauder twice now and Chimera with my fire/shield and I do not have near the recharge as most people do in there.
It took we 31 minutes to clear out the entire map including two trips to the hospital (ran orbus and that is including clearing the rest of the map solo)
I soft capped across the board once I did not take two lucky hits in a row with that darn rock it took me about about 8-10 minutes to take Marauder out. This with a different fire shield build. Then again I have like 48% damage buff with one target in range.

CoF also stacks nicely with Intimidate or Invoke Panic... I have a concept Claws/Dark with the Presence pool.
Not saying the Presence pool is spectacular or anything, but it's fun yelling at things. Kind of a scrap/tank/troller build, not as good at any of those things as a specialist, but can Fear a whole spawn, or taunt to hold aggro as needed.

Last time I tried it I was so under whelmed
When I was deciding on a new dm/da build I ran about 6 different builds over and over through the same mission to gage them vs each other.
I had cof/tof and the presence pool and the dark epic hold gaze lets say it was unspectacular .
Just to let you know from my experience but then you may enjoy it good luck with it -
I run OG on both my /da's in fact I do not even have TOF any more on my dm/da I got to the point where it was just irrelevant and effected my damage so I just skipped it and concentrated on hitting things and causing damage.
Now I no longer play them just two many 50's -

I can get behind the no travel power suppression for PvP and no endurance burn and being able to run that fast at times...however, I would think that to take all of the power slots and enhancement slots you use to beef sprint, swift, quickness, hurdle, and combat jumping up to those speeds would be a bit wasteful when you could just take super speed/super jump and use the slots on other things like endurance reductions and such and beat those speeds still.

On /sr scrappers/brutes and electric can do it as well it is easy with just two slots one in swift and 1 quickness in do not forget some IO give a 7.5% boost and some with others

I have one scrapper that is built to solo an AV no inspirations at this point that is my fire/shield and I have a non standard build that most use I went without tough weave but I took at Marauder and Chimera. Shadow Hunter got me but I ran out of time that night and I have not cranked that up because I been doing team AE's with him because it is fun.
My dm/sr can solo with endurance inspiration I took Marauder out that way. His IO build is sitting there in a mediocre build with out a lot of high end money put in that build. I can but with him but I need more recharge and some +end just not my focus with him
My Katana/sr use to do it all the time way back int he day and I completed the scrapper challenge with him on a solid but unspectacular build. I soloed a lot of AV's back in the perma elude perma hasten 5 slotted damage type days with him different game back then. I started farming for his new IO build because he was my 1st 50 and one of my favorites.
My Ill Rad could but I am not that good one him and tend to screw up some how even though I am almost to perma PA I call it I prefer scrappers and play my troller like a scrapper which puts me in the bind some times and I rarely ever play him.
On to players to give you an example why most can not I was on an AE team and we where talking about builds for some reason and soling an AV came up and a guy says while ma/reg can not do it because they run out of endurance. i said man he could do it with no inspiration if built right I mean with qr + staminia you should not run out of endurance. Stamina does not help so I had to procedure to tell them that it does and that health stack with regen to make it better.
Then again the guy had all his katana attacks took all the regen stuff hasten and ss then jump kick
