Just wanted to give a big up to all the MoXers out there playing on Union and posting on the boards.
If you want to join a decent SG with lots of active members check out MoX.eu.com

Ah right, I always thought that this was the Matrix Online SG, that must be MXO? -

I have dim memories (Friday afternoon - everything's dim) of one of the GG roleplayers mentioning some sort of "chat tidier" program one of them had written. Takes a chat log and turns it into a far more readable file.
You might want to try Googling for that, or ask one of the GGers.
[/ QUOTE ]
yeah it was posted last year but checking my fave link, it was before the great board wipe, it was listed as:

Tame those log files! With thanks to Dark_Rage!

agreed, those who know me know that I'm big on the experience and not the XPerience of the game.
Those people who want to play for just xp might as well play a single player game rather than a MMOG -
The fire secondary for blasters has for a while been regarded as being the crappiest of the secondaries for Blasters.
I only have ring of fire cause you have to take it, and build up for the buff, I used to have fire sword circle but respecced it out because of the delay for a couple of seconds after you've used it, which could leave you a bit vulnerable.
I don't have access to my hero planner so I can't remember my exact planned build but I'll probably take fire sword (for toggle dropping ability), I had planned to take burning aura for a bit of anti-stalker measure and burn with one of the epic holds.
I've heard that hot feet is pretty useful against melee types if you stand in the middle of it.
Generally the fire secondary is pretty pap and as result you'll find that you'll pick more powers from your primary and power pools. -

If someone figures out a way to bring along a beachball, i'll let you organise beach-volleyball competitions
[/ QUOTE ]
easy, get a couple of FF defenders/controllers with repel, grab one of the warriors on the beach, voila! Instant beachball hijinks!
Failing that, get a couple of En/En blastersball won't last very long though

I would slot your primary blast attacks with:
1 accuracy, 3 damage, 2 recharge reductions
some people go for:
2 accuracy, 3 damage, 1 recharge reduction
if you hover your cursor over the power name it tells you how effective your slotting is.
You start off with training enhancements then dual origin and finally single origin, if you're a mutant origin hero you'll be able to use mutant/science enhancement (DO) and mutant enhancements (SO) for example.
For ring of fire I recommend 2 accuracy enhancements as the accuracy on it is pretty pants then if you can spare some slots add immobilisation duration and recharge reductions.
For fire sword, 1 accuracy, 3 damage, 2 recharge reductions is good.
for general gameplay, take a look at http://www.vidiotmaps.com/coh/index.php?nav=printout for maps of the zones and http://cohplanner.coldfront.net/ for Joe Chott's Hero planner, it helps you plan your build for your hero.
Also check the guides section of the forum.
Fire blasters can be very powerful in the right hands but also a team's biggest curse in the wrong hands due to the aggro it creates.
I have a mix of primary AOE and single target attacks to be able to adapt to any situation, some go for the full AOE route (which is good if you plan to team with controllers and tanks all the time)
As Gen said the best way to learn is to team with other blasters and see how they operate.
Precision Rangers are full at the mo but the ALT Rangers still has spaces. Take a look at the Rangers thread on the Union page and introduce yourself -
I've found Air Superiority to be a useful knockdown tool, I have it on Halo and have it set as an auto-fire power so that when enemies close to melee range it gives me an extra couple of seconds to fire off an attack. I have it on Pyrius but sometimes find it annoying when trying to fire off an attack chain (I might have to unselect it as an auto-fire power on him)
When I'm waiting in Brickstown for team members to arrive at a mish I normally amuse my self by keeping a freak tank in near-perma-knockdownThat's with 1 acc SO and no hasten. For guaranteed perma-knockdown you'll probably want something like 2 acc SO and 1 rechred SO. I started using it to increase my survivability in PvP and as Deluge said, a PvP build will also be good against PvE.

Well, when I leveled up J. Brute I've been lonely in the SG for a couple of months...
In the last 3 weeks or so the active members are lots more than after I6 came out when me and you where the only 2 online

hey I came online when the Pocket D missions came on, then found that I needed to use another one of my stored respecs because i kept running out of enduEpic Holds FTW though

I've been the only one online in the SG for almost 2 months, with some rare apparition of Golden Golem...
[/ QUOTE ]
If you had said that 2-3 weeks ago I'd agree, but the Hibernal Flea has been on every day for the last 2 weeks and at level 32 is 50k ahead of ANYBODY in the SG in Prestige*.
* The second is Golden Golem....
Does anyone else earn Prestige for this SG? Surely you don't want to be beaten by a midgety gimped Ice tank?
[/ QUOTE ]
yeah he's right, I've teamed with the flea over the past 2 weeks -

By the way, how many SG spaces have we got left, because I was thinking of moving Rocker to The Elite SG to make space (he's just gathering dust at the moment).
[/ QUOTE ]
Plenty of spaces left still, even if we have like 7 times the active players we had like 3 months ago(1)
@Unthing: I think that that it's his actual build without respeccing and that he picked Taunt up before the last change to the order.

woe woe, where is the love for tanks -

Well it was a blast.
The best part was when the Tankers 1st went in and got decimated.

Nothing beats blaster only teams, except maybe controler only teams.

[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, but for Godlike teams you needs scrappers, and specifically regen scrappers. It's like a freight train charging through the mission and after each major battle you look about and see everyone's on full health with full stamina.
One word; unstoppable.
Not to take anything away from blaster teams, but there's all that waiting about to do between mobs
[/ QUOTE ]
I was on a team once with 6 scrappers, an empath and myself as an empath, it got very dull - we buffed them and gave the occasional heal while they went after a mob each, yes it was fast but there was very little coordination between them, as far as they were concerned they could have been soloing and it wouldn't have made any difference.
The thing I like about blaster teams is the banter between mobs, laughing at your mates who make a silly mistake and faceplant and they in turn get a chance to laugh at you if you mess up, coordinating attacks and eventually anticipating what your team mate is going to do next, saving team mates when their health is in the red is pretty exciting and making best use of knockback in the case of energy blasters can be pretty satisfying (knockback tennis anyone?) - keeping a freak tank in perma- knockback between 2 energy blasters can be pretty funny.
if i know that everyone is going to be at full health and stamina, then there's no risk or danger and so you don't keep an eye out for your teammates and so it gets pretty boring because it's too easyyes it's god like but you'll might as well play Doom 3 on god mode.
hmm wonder if this is an insight into the psyche of players and their ATs
Blasters - love living on the edge and short intense experiences
Scrappers - love the feeling of power and being an one-man unstoppable fighting machine
Tanks - loves protecting the team and taking on massive mobs
hmmm -

Keep the eagles head SILVER though and get your eyes RED soon we will be able to ferry people to icon safely to do this.

or you could get me to use my empath to TP you directly into ICON -

Ah the wonders of shadowfall.. looks like I will be useful for something else other than winning the faceplant count!

w00t thank you thank you
I'll actually be able to tank now -
I'll be up for this on Pyrius my fire/fire/ice lv 50 tank.
gah psychic attacks
gah 22 missions between the shards and Atlas
I'm probably going to regret this -

I have decided that as right as you maybe, I am going to stick with the -endcost enhancements. No doubt that I will eventually switch to the -recharge but atleast then I found it out myself!
Thanks for the tips, esspecially the ctrl+click idea, never thought of that one.
In the video the player is seen bobbing and weaveing, is this from Acrobatics or has he taken weave? The power tool tips look like the one's from the jumping pool though.
Also he appears to buff himself with lots of pretty colours (aw!) which buff is this one?
[/ QUOTE ]
Agree with you on the endurance reductions - the only way to be sure is to play it yourself and tweak the build later (which is why I think respecs are great)
Haven't seen the vid but the bob and weave is typical of acrobatics the animation actually roots you for a couple of secs which can be annoying if you do it in mid-jump
Don't known what the buff is (i'll have to take a look at the vid at home) but I would suspect it's Total Focus
If you want to find out about the sonic primary speak to Sunrod in-game as she's a Sonic/Elec blaster, she posts on the boards as Kronos -
I can help you out with Pyrius if you find that you need a tank at last minute - just give me a shout on the coalition channel
-
Build is looking good, when you get stamina is when your build starts to come into it's own.
After lv 20 with stamina, you might want to look at swapping out the endurance reductions with recharge reductions - you will want to have a fast attack chain - one of the reasons Blappers are so good is that they keep pummeling you until you hit the deck.
If you're going to PvP alot you might want to look at slotting your attacks with 2 accuracy enhancements due to the reduced accuracy in PvP.
Sonic/En is a good choice for a blapper and you might want to consider taking swift for speedy unsurpressed movement during attacks, you can get away without hurdle as you have CJ.
Sonic has some great toggle dropping attacks, debuffs and mezs and the energy secondary also has lots - Sonic/En is a PvP animal as I found out over the weekend when we had a SG arena free for all.
A top tip is that you can also set bonesmasher to auto-hit with ctrl+click so that when any enemies come into melee range it automatically fires thus knocking their toggles with a bit of stun
If you need blapping advice come to the Precision Rangers thread on the Union page - that's where our blapping experts hang out -
I should be on tonight between 10-11pm

I put the SG colours back to red and yellow and the emblem back to the fist....
Who's been the maniac that put the SG colours to shocking pink and black and made an heart our emblem?! o.0'
[/ QUOTE ]
I was wondering that. The only hero I know who has a heart as an emblem is Mr. Cuddles......
If it was me I would have changed them all to Gold! With a shiny Aura as the symbol. Fortunately for you all this isn't the case, although I did once go into the base when drunk and put a huge stone head in one of the rooms.
[/ QUOTE ]
The main suspect would be Mr Cuddles, he always used to change the SG colours to pink. It got to a state where I stayed out of SG mode because every time I logged in I would be greeted by a multicolour nightmare.
