Yep! I'm responsible for 5 of them. I'm a slacker, and only have a couple dozen 50s.

Tonight went much better, as I lead 3 Moonfire runs in a row with relative ease. I guess yesterday was just an off night.
  2. Well I'll be trying again in an hour or two. I'm not a member of the channels Ironblade recommended, but I will consider joining and recruiting in the badge channels for TFs, as they do have badges.

I certainly won't be playing on any other server. It may have just been a slow night last night. Besides, after 82 months I'm not going to be playing on another server for my final three.
  3. I have come to the conclusion that I loathe the trial grinding that is the new way the Devs want us to play.

However, I seem to be in the minority on Infinity as last night I could not find six people to start a Moonfire TF. Are there any players out there running the regular content? I would like to finish off what I started and get all of my characters to 50, before my account lapses in August. I usually play on weekday evenings and weekend afternoons.

Heck if other players are having the same trouble, I may make a global channel for non-incarnate trial team forming on Infinity.
  4. I have been only playing the Incarnate Trials, on my Fire/Dark Melee Tanker, and I would have to say the biggest problem for a Fire Tank are the lasers in the BAF, Nightstar's reinforcements when they crit at the same time and carrying to much aggro in the Lambda from one container/capsule to another while solo.

Taking the Barrier Destiny power helps greatly with all three of these cases. I also find a lot of other tanks worry about Maurader's Nova Fist, but a Fire Tanker just needs to resist hitting healing flames when the warning shows up, and hit is as soon as your health starts to plummet and you can stay in melee range for the entire fight (barring chasing him).

I finally got the Lore slot last night, and look forward to seeing if I can safely solo the warehouse or lab, while not worrying about carry over aggro from group to group now that I am +3.

As far as villain groups goes, Criminal Intent on Infinity was made at CoV Launch and is still run by two out of the four original leaders. However, we never got to be a super sized group, like the other SG I helped lead back in 2004. Still we were 60+ players strong at one time, but are probably down to 20, with most of that being Soul Restorer (a.k.a Catareactor) and myself.

I know of a hero group on Inifinty that was created on launch, but is only active on reactivation weekends. But besides that many SGs on Infinity have been gutted thanks to server transfers. Guns of Paragon I think is still active though, which may have been a launch SG.

After server transfers were given, many people seem to have vacated Infinity. I still play exclusively on Infinity, but I certainly don't play as often as I did back in the day.

I blame the RWZ wall runs for you being burned out. When you come back, I'm pretty sure you'll see Soul Restorer and me about. I'm glad Force Fire still is about though.

Did DDO get good? I enjoyed the traps, but everything else about is seemed not so good.
  7. Hmm I think I'll just wait for the boxed edition, unless I hear GR is coming with bonus character slots. I need to save my 6 year vet reward slot for the new low level content in GR, so I may as well wait to make my new character until then.

I pretty much get the expansion and bonus goodies for less then the single pre-order to play a character I would just remake at launch to see content.
  8. Is there a time set for the tour? I would not mind spending the time to give tours of the Criminal Intent base, just to show off Soul Restorer's work. Nor would I mind going on a tour of other bases. I just need to know what time such a tour would be. As it would be on Valentine's Day weekend it may be difficult to find a window that will work for everyone that wouldn't mind giving tours.
  9. Congratulations on the Promotion/Punishment (I'm sure the PMs will become more um... interesting now for you).

    My Question:

Is your team looking into possibly mimicing the World of Warcraft "Dungeon Finder" feature?

I have never played WoW in my life, nor will I as I barely have time for one MMORPG, and I think it is obvious which one I have chosen for the last five plus years. However, from what I hear from my co-worker such a feature like a Task/Strike Force Finder would be glorious, even if it wasn't cross server enabled.
  10. RP

I would say Infinity is role-play friendly, but not the standard. More often then not I will chat in character, and in the five plus years I have been playing I don't think I have ever been on a pickup group that didn't go along with it.

    PVP

PvP used to be very active on Infinity, however, many of the PvPers left the game over the last year. As others have already mentioned, I think almost all the ones that stayed on moved with the free transfers to Freedom.

    Teams

Even now I do not have a hard time getting a team together, when I wanted to lead. However, soloing while hoping to be invited by another can lead to a lot of soloing lately.

    TF

Again, if you want to throw one together it is fairly easy to do so in the "prime times". And for the most part PUGs on Infinity seem to be fantastic. Just last night I was on a 45 minute PUG Manti and a 45 minute PUG Moonfire.

What would you say is Infinity's identity, or its unique qualities vs. other communities?

Despite these boards at times, Infinity is a very friendly server, with helpful players. I tried a couple of other servers, when I was full on Infinity, and I have never enjoyed the experience as well on the other servers.

    Why are you here?

I am here because back at launch it was the first server, that my brother and his friends could get the names Cap, Gown, Degree, Diploma etc... for the Honor Roll. He got me hooked and I have been here ever since.

How does it rank in activity?

From the "dot test" on double XP weekends it used to be third or fourth populated. However, that number does seem to have dropped recently due, and plummeted after the free server transfers. Blue side is far more active then Red side currently.

I remember reading that a particular shard has a lot of arena activity, and it wasn't Freedom. Was that Infinity, and if not, do you know which shard it is?

Infinity was voted the "unofficial PvP server" in a thread on the forums. However, that core group has dwindled quite a bit, and now by far Freedom is the PvP server of choice.

I'll still be here when they shut off Infinity. If they ever force server merger, and I get shipped off to some server, where I can't get all my character names, I will probably finally give the game up.

    Sweet news Pep!

    [/ QUOTE ]

There is only one Pep on Infinity and she passes out Peppermints!

Having said that, I'll have to see if I can make it. It will bring back memories of the Mayhemette practices back in the day. The scary things that 7 Invul/EM Cheerleaders and thier Mind/Kin Coach could do before the global defense changes, Enhancement Diversity and target limits...
  12. Oh... This should be good. I'll be sure to check it out next time I am on.

I have always liked the players on both sides of the PCSAR/PCSAD rift, and never quite understood the issues as a person on the outside.
  13. Welcome back. Infinity can't die as long as PCSAR keeps rezing it.

I've been hanging out on Infinity for five years now, and still anticipate being here until they shut down the server. While I was disapointed with the I15 details, AE is more then enough to keep me busy.

    Closed Beta

    [ QUOTE ]
For the record, there is NO Issue 15 Closed Beta.

    Where:
Issue 15 Beta will occur on the Training Room (in both North America and Europe), and not on a separate server (like the Macintosh Closed Beta)

    Who:
Issue 15 Beta will be open to everyone who has an active account. Trial Account users will have access to the Training Room, however Trial Account limitations will still be in place on those Trial Accounts.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Translation: I15 is not big enough to worry about polishing it off with a closed beta, before opening it up to everyone for testing.

Besides the changes to AE, the issue is a handful of costume change emotes, costume pieces and two task forces. Internal testing should already find the most egregious problems before it goes to the testing room.

Having said that, the early release of information about "Going Rogue" has certainly made up for the underwelming announcement on the anniversary. Not that there was any chance I would stop playing the game I have enjoyed playing for the past five years, especially now that AE exists.
  15. I just wanted to take the time to say thank you for having the prestige difference automatically refunded. While I am not the primary base builder for our super groups, we were certainly not looking forward to having to rebuild the rooms that would get us back the most prestige for time spent. I am stoked that we can now get the largest plot size for less then our current plot.

I can't wait to see what Soul Restorer will do with the extra millions we'll be getting back. As well as no longer having to worry about expanding the base while paying the rent. Thanks again.

Also if a tour event does go on, I'm sure a tour of Criminal Intent's base can be arranged day or night as we have European and American players.

    Star Strider Force Unit: Infinity
    Time/Date Location: Day 3 - Pocket D
    Level of Alien Threat: [low]
Level of Treat to my Psyche: [Medium]

    Report Details:

Hanging out in the base is beginning to take its toll. I am not sure how much longer I can listen to Max squabble with his Axe. It is bad enough I need to listen to the neanderthal Max, but his Axe is so egotistical I am certain it had to have been forged by a man. The only thing that proves other wise is that it does seem to be remarkably well crafted, which points to a female's care and attention for detail.

In the evening I received a communication from Ex Libris, stating that there was going to be a "costume contest" in Pocket D. Knowing that it had to be clandestine meeting of heroines, as everyone knows almost all the participants are the superior sex, I made my way to Pocket D for what was surely going to be a debriefing on the true nature of the "Star Strider Force".

Once I arrived I was glad to see Ex Libris, Neviene and Agent Ruby organizing my fellow heroines. However, there were several evil men lurking about, some of whom they must have been leary of as they kept recommending that no one use their powers (I can only assume they did not want us to provide them with any insight into what powers and weakness we may possess). Once it was clear the planned debriefing was out the window, I stood with my back against a wall vigilant in case some trap may be sprung.

Surprisingly, nothing transpired and I tried to teleport back to base but was prevented by DJ Zero's teleport suppression system. I ended up heading out the secret exit to Faultline, as most tend to take the obvious exits, which means they might be watched. After that it was just a quick teleport back to the safety of our base.

    Analysis of Current Situation:

While it was nice to get out of the base for a bit, I have returned to the safety of our base. The Ritki continue to be of little threat to Paragon City, with the aliens retreating quickly once any resistance shows up.

    Suggestion of Action:

I transcribed everything that the leaders of the "Costume Contest" said as I am sure there must have been a coded message being provided as to the nature of this current mission. One thing of interest was that Neviene seemed positively terrified by an Ouroboros portal that appeared in Pocket D...

Also I am going to talk Red Tomax into looking into getting a base portal opened into Pocket D. That way if operation survival goes on much longer we can VIP pass into Pocket D for supplies and return back to base without entering the city, or using an Ouroboros portal, which Neviene clearly is recommending we do not use for some reason.

    Report Details:
    Operation Survival:
    Day 2:

Day two continued to be uneventful in terms of trying to survive the "Ritki threat". I guess I should not find this invasion to be underwhelming considering they are lead by Hro'Dtohz, Dra'Gon and the Honoree. Ritki Invasions continue to occur regularly, but they are always repelled almost as soon as they get going. The only interesting note is that a few of us tasked with the duty have gone rogue and are actively laying waste to as many Ritki as possible. Not that I am surprised by the actions of the typical testosterone driven plans.

    Analysis of Current Situation:

After one day even, Red Tomax, who has saved my life a numerous times, has begun to get on my nerves with his obsessive thoughts of his trist with esploits with Soul Restorer and Countess Crey. I hope we are given the go ahead to return to our normal patrols soon.

    Suggestion of Action:

I continue to follow the plan laid out by the mysterious Star Strider Force, trusting that Ex Libris is not being overly trusting in the information she is being handed.

    Operation Survival:
    Day 1:

The first day was fairly uneventful. I sat in the base, listening to the reports of Ritki Invasions that were regularly occurring throughout the city and even the Rouge Isles. In all cases the threat was repelled fairly quickly.

    Analysis of Current Situation:

While it has been pleasant to hang around with my fellow heroines, I am quickly getting annoyed by the continual presence of the heroes. My mind is anguished, as I listen to the mental prattle of the seemingly intelligent men around me.

    Suggestion of Action:

I still am cautious, that this Star Rider Force is some sort of hoax being perpetrated by an evil male, but will continue to stay safe in the comfort of our base for now. If things become clearer to me, I shall be sure to act appropriately when the time comes.
  19. I'm not exactly sure what this is about, but I am sure it boils down to foiling another plot by an evil male of some sort... so here goes:

    Global Contact: @GuiltTrip
Level of Classification: Security Level 50 Mind Controller, with Omega level clearance.
    Origin: Mutant
Super Rank & Super Group: Paradigm - The Infinites

Note, if this is regarding dropping drop ships, I'll guilt trip another hero or heroine to fight the fight for me.
  20. Is it just my machine or do the combat auras not work very well with the stacking Dark Armor toggles? A regular aura shows through just fine on my machine, even with all the toggles up. However, if i have more then a couple toggles on the combat aura targeting eyes do not appear...

Oh well, it was worth the 10 dollars even if the combat aura's don't mix well with DA.

I dont understand how I got "Mutant Man" on Freedom yet "Lo Pan" and "Egg Shen" are taken on every server....

Perhaps because many people like Big Trouble in Little China, and no one likes cannibal rednecks? Just a thought.

Wow, you'd think someone at some point would be seen running around with it. I don't think I've encountered a hero or villain with the name, Mal, but the minute I do I will get their global name for you.\

    [/ QUOTE ]

It may very well just be blocked off. Wasn't an evil version of the Invisible Woman called Malice? Hmm... off to google.

Edit: Apparently their have been four different villains with that name in the Marvel Universe. Yeah I bet it just is blocked off.

In reality, I think it might be CoX's version of Mad Libs...

As I said before, I think it will give players a chance to expand their creativity, but I think that's about it. I doubt you'll be able to select where mobs will be located at or where the important object will be placed. The Devs will put up safeguards to ensure there aren't ubermobs or unique and rare item drops.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, there was a thread going on for a couple months in the Suggestions forum at the end of 2006. I wish I could remember all the tweaks and additions that went into that thread, but a purge cleared it out some time ago. I think it was pretty much everyone that posted in the thread that such arcs would probably include a percentage penalty on rewards, to prevent abuse.

I still think that is the way to go. After all those of us that want it for endless "end game" content, will use it for that. Those that would prefer to stand at the entrance of a mission for a few ours, would probably better off still using the regular game missions.

I can't wait to see all the mission arc options, and to see if they tied options to badges, or if you can use your characters as the contacts. While I would prefer the whole kit and caboodle, I'm just happy to know I will be getting some balsa wood and glue at the very least.
  24. I almost fainted, when I read they were adding a story arc tool kit. I had a thread going in the suggestion forum in Oct. 2006, laying out the framework of how such a tool could provide endless "endgame" content.

Oh this will be fantastic indeed.
  25. Here are a couple I had for awhile that are currently available:

    Gain
Brotherly Love (Combat entries were the best part of that name)

Three other old names are available, but they probably will make a triumphant return (if still available) when the extra slots are handed out. I was not surprised to see that a couple of the names I freed up due to darwinism, are now taken (Hooligan, Rick O'Shea).

As far as a names I really would like:
    Mumbo Jumbo
    Big Lug
    Hex

Unfortunately, as I really like my "Darwin Twelve" I can't really offer any thing good in trade. Although I guess I could live with giving up Fallen Arrow for one of those three.

Seeing as though I have not seen South on in a long long time, here is a bonus name currently available:
