  1. Ok- that is how I have it set, as a single object. At least I can do something about that. Thanks for the heads up. Can't keep up with all of the info out there!
  2. I published a mission arc (Trick or Treat? #323332) that worked fine while testing, but I have been told by two people who have tried to play it, that a destructable object in my second mission can not be destroyed- it comes up as an invalid target. I ran the mission and sure enough, it did the same for me. I replaced that destructable object with a different one, hoping it would solve the problem, and also allowed the object to be placed anywhere in the game instead of at the end, but had the same problem. the object shows up when it is supposd to (appearance is based on the defeat of an enemy), but I get an invalid target message when I try to destroy it.

Any ideas about how to fix this? Am I going to get an invalid target with any destructable objects?

  3. Ok, I'm pretty new at playing MA arcs, and have only written one of my own, so my opinion may be worth a hill of beans. I have played a few Developer's Choice arcs, and I played a mission arc tonight that is easily as well done as the Dev's arcs I have played. I would like you to consider:

    A Series of Tubes

    @JChaos

The arc was funny, with a good story line, well written dialog, and what was for my lvl 44 Scrapper running solo, a perfectly solo-able and entertaining arc. It is "very long" with five missions, but the varied length and variety of the missions made time fly with it. Creative, humorous without being "cutesy." Overall, the most enjoyable arc I have played so far. There have not been a lot of ratings for it, but I hope that changes soon!

  4. Well, whatever the reason, the problems I was having with the edit function appear to have been resolved. I don't know if it had anything to do with the release of v 16, but it's there and I can edit now. yay!
  5. Justice Blues- I decided to reset all of my keymapping and sure enough, that solved the UI screenshot problem. It has not resolved the edit function problem though. I do have a different GM responding to me now, and ihave had great success with him on other problems in the past. Hopefully, he will be able to figure this one out too.

  6. Hi Everyone,

I have been trying to edit my first mission arc (#323332) and republish it, but I am having consistent problems with the edit option NOT showing up when I pull up my published arc. I have sent in a support ticket for this problem but to be honest, the GM who is trying to help me keeps asking me questions I have already answered, and I am getting nowhere in a big fat hurry, and getting very frustrated.

When I go to my PUBLISHED arc, the only options I get for it are to play it or to unpublish it. There is NO edit option that comes up. It has before, so I know it exists, but for whatever reason, it is not showing up for me now and has not for a few days. This has happened before and I mistakenly thought the way to republish my arc was to unpublish it first, make the changes I wanted, then republish it. Uhm... no. So, I lost my 5 ratings that I had and published the arc again under another arc number.

I am certain that I am viewing the listing of my published arc- not my local files. I am certain that I have used the edit function and republished before. I have no idea why it is not showing up now.

The GM I am working with gave me instructions for how to get a screenshot with the MA user interface visible. I did what he told me to do, and I am repeatedly getting screenshots with no interface visible. I have been very careful to make sure I am typing in exactly what he told me to do, and have tried about 25 times to get the shot I need. I'm relatively new to CoH and I am not completely familiar with every option and setting in the game. I'm wondering if I might have a setting in my system that is mucking the /screenshotui 1 command up?

Has anyone else had any problems with trying to edit published arcs? Any suggestions about how to get a screenshot of my user interface?

Thanks for any suggestions. This is really frustrating me.

  7. Rats! I replied to this once and my post got eaten. Lemme try this again.

Ok Marc! You're on. I'll play your arc if you'll play mine.

    Arc Number: 320225
    @Werpan
    Title: Trick or Treat?
    Level: 1-54
Missions: 3, includes custom enemies and NPCs. 1st mission includes a lieutenant level named "defeat boss," the second mission has a boss level named "defeat boss" and the third mission has an elite boss. She is a hard one to take out alone.

Some things I am specifically looking for feedback on:

    1) Should I change the maps, especially of the first 2 missions, to indoor maps? The rescued NPCs do not leave the map in the map I chose and it bugs me! I am also not all that keen on outdoor maps...

    2) Is the difficulty of the mission appropriate? Challenging without killing you (more than once anway...)? Are the minions hard enough without being too hard?

I have not had a lower level character play my arc and I would really appreciate any comments you have for your (almost) lvl 10.

    Thanks!
  8. Hello Everyone!

I recently published my first mission arc, and I am noticing a problem with it that I don't know how to fix. I'm wondering if there may be a bug. The arc is three missions, and I am seeing htis problem in all of them- when there is a captive to rescue or anything else that has a group of enemies surrounding him/her/it, the number of guards does not make sense based on the enemy group difficulty level. For example, in my first and second arcs, there are captives that need to be rescued and both arcs have a higher level enemy that needs to be defeated (the first arc has a lieutenant, the second has a boss, and the third has an elite boss). The captive have their enemy group setting to medium, and the bosses are set to hard. EVERY TIME I play the mission, the captives have three minions guarding them, and the "bosses" have only two.

This has been the case when friends have played the arc, and when they have been working on their own arcs. It doesn't seem to matter what their character level is, or what their notariety is- the boss has fewer guards than the captives do, and they are not of any higher level than the guards for the captives.

So, why aren't "hard" level enemy groups harder than "medium" level enemy groups?

  9. I leave feedback on almost all arcs I play. If I don't, it's usually because I didn't finish the mission for whatever reason, and don't feel like I can give useful input.

I have only posted one 3-mission arc on the Architect system, and that was just yesterday. I had a ball writing the mission and am sincerely eager for whatever input any players may have. I also know there are so many missions up that the likelihood of mine being played much is kind of slim, even though I have posted it in this forum, and have invited my friends and my supergroup to play it. I am hoping for feedback, but I am not counting on it.

So far, I have one rating, and the player gave me five stars. I am delighted! The person who rated the arc did not leave comments, so I have no idea what the player liked, or whether there is anything they would suggest for improvement. I certainly do not think that a player has an obligation to leave comments or rate missions, but I sure find it helpful and encouraging when they do.
  10. I haven't finished your Teen Phalanx arc yet- just the first mission. I *love* the concept! It's a very creative idea. The character dialog was terrific for creating the appropriate "atmosphere" of the arc and I thoroughly enjoyed being a "teen Werpan" again. I'm looking forward to playing the rest!

If you can get to it, I'd appreciate any comments you may have on my first arc:

    Trick or Treat?
    Arc ID: 320225
    Morality: Heroic
    Level range: 1-54
Warnings: Custom power selections, custom enemies, including bosses and EB (in the final mission). Solo-able, but the EB in the last mission is a tough cookie to crack alone.
  11. I've been working on my first AE mission arc and there are a few things I just don't understand. Whenever I have tried to use a defendable object in the game, none of the enemies actually attack it. Is this the way this is supposed to work? What's the point of defending an object if it is not actually under attack? Is there some setting that I have not selected correctly that is causing this problem?
  12. As someone already suggested:

A mansion with surrounding lands (I WANT TO BE ABLE TO DO A HAUNTED HOUSE!)

I would also like to be able to control the brightness of light, sounds, etc on maps, or to determine what time of day it is on outdoor maps.

I'd also like to see maps of:

    A gothic cathedral
    A castle
