(For the record, I'm fairly indifferent to all of this, although, I think I can empathize with everyone's views. And I don't mean my posts to belittle anyone; I just saw the content of a particular post--not of the thread in general--and decided to add a silly comment. I'm here to have fun and/or retreat from the regularly occuring frustrations of my days and nights. Others are here for other reasons and--other than griefers, who go out of their way to frustrate other people's game play--I'll let them be.

And show off my first [serious] bbs/forum avatar!)

The best thing to do is send to the channel with something like, "Forming TF, send message for invite," which is what most people seem to do, and invite by clicking on the name. If people are changing characters, tell them to send a message when they have switched. If they wait until they get into the zone--excepting co-op teaming--they are probably going to lose the spot. Also, send a message to the channels once the teams are full so people who might be in the middle of logging off to switch characters or are just taking a long time to commit to teaming know the team is full.

If people are being turned away, you can always suggest that they form a second team. Make it a speed contest for fun so the two teams might consider that "extended" teaming or role-play that it is a two-pronged attack.

People shouldn't feel guilty for starting up TFs and feel compelled to leave the team--that's rather self-defeating.
  3. I've been using parts of the sound Origin sound themes which I got from the CoH Fan Site Kit. They are as loud as I can manage to get them; they are noticeable but not obnoxious.

    objective_loop_tech.ogg

    objective_loop_science.ogg

[Just edit the file name to be: objective_loop.ogg and put it in the folder: \City of Heroes\data\Sound\ogg\FrontEnd ]

[I am assuming that the slight editing I did to these files doesn't make them "naughty-bad" file sharing. If it is, someone let me know and I will remove them from the site.]

Depends on what version of the show you saw. In the original Japanese series, the enemy is called Galactor and the good guys are Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, or usually just called "Gatchaman", which is the original Japanese name of the series.
  7. You might want to wait a while for the two videos to load before trying to watch them:

  9. I started a Shield/Electric Tanker and got him to L5, then decided that I didn't like that combination and remade him as Electric/Electric. Got him one bar before L15 and turned off experience gain.
  10. For the Impervium cape, the secondary color has no effect on the cape; the lines on the cape are part of the primary color selection. Please give the player direct control of the line color. My personal reason is that I do not like the lines on the cape and would make the primary and secondary color the same so that the cape would be a single, solid color.

[Edited, because my graphics settings were just slightly different on Test. But still, finally give us a simple metallic skin texture like the Arachnos Widows have and make it available for all characters at creation and allow all the patterns with it, including adding the "Full" pattern for gloves that is currently only available when using the "Full" texture.]
  11. It's not surprising, but it is ridiculously disappointing that there is such a lack of feet-only options. [Which goes so well with the disappointment that the "Full" pattern for gloves is only available with the "Full" texture and nothing else.]
  12. Have you tried the Store Contact in the Rikti War Zone?
  13. I've been using a Logitech gamepad with this almost from the beginning. It takes a a lot of keybinding but I rarely have to use the mouse; mostly for things like the market, base editing, rearranging Inspirations and Enhancements.

I was using the Logitech software for a long time but recently switched to the free version of Xpadder so I can easily switch the gamepad configuration to mouse control and back again.

Press the 1 on the number pad
    Repeat for Tray Slot 2-9

That will set it up so you can use either the numbers on the main part or the number pad.
And once you have your binds set up the way you like, type:

    /bindsave

to save your binds as a file named "keybinds.txt", which can be edited with a text editor.

    Or type:

    /bindsavefile yourfilenamehere.txt

which will save your binds as a file with a name of your choosing, where "yourfilenamehere" can be (almost) whatever you want.

Then, when you log on a character that you want to use those binds, type:

    /bindload (if you used /bindsave)

    or

/bindloadfile yourfilenamehere.txt (if you used a custom file name).
  15. Since I very, very, very rarely ever team, I do use TO's and DO's, but not until I reach L7 and start slotting L10 TO's. I sell all drops up to that point because leveling is so quick that you waste more time shopping than playing.

Once I start using TO's, I usually slot two Accuracy with Recharge and/or Endurance Reduction after those first two slots for attacks while other powers are slotted for Recharge or Endurance Reduction or whatever is appropriate for the power. I won't waste slots on Damage with TO's because the bonus damage is not worthwhile. Once I start using TO's, I will use drops to increase their effective levels.

Once I hit L12, I'll start using DO's. Usually with similar slotting as with TO's, but I will use Damage Enhancements and will have allocated slots as appropriate to attacks, usually having two or three attacks with five slots each.

At L18, I'll start slotting Common IO's, crafted by my higher level characters and stored in the base or mailed for characters in Praetoria.

...you can put them on the market?

Excuse woeful ignorance, but like I say I just can't find a source divulging who what where when and how. Even Paragonwiki tells you next to nothing about how these things work.
He is referring to the value of the Recipes when he sells them on the Market, Recipes that he has gotten using Alignment Merits.

Bad Influence, I would suggest just running Tip Missions. You can get five Alignment Points (not Merits) every 20 hours, which, basically, comes to running five Tip Missions a day. You need a total of 10 Alignment Points to get a Morality Mission, which is a special Tip Mission (and is labeled on the Tip Tab of the Contact Window) which is the mission that actually drops the Alignment Merit upon completion. So, you should be able to get one Alignment Merit every two days if you run Tips consistently.

What I do is run Borea's repeatable Missions in the Rikti War Zone until I get a Tip, then run Tips until they run out.

Also, Tips can drop from any minion or higher enemy that is L20 or higher, even if you are L50.

(I'm not sure if Vigilante/Rogue Merits exist, for what it's worth.)
  17. To clarify:

If you spend Reward Merits and Inf to get Hero/Villain Merits, you have to spend that each time.

However, the first time you run a Morality mission and affirm your alignment, you get 50 Reward Merits--it's like a Story Arc.

After that first time, you will receive an Alignment Merit upon the completion of a Morality Mission. You might be better off running Tips/Morality Missions if you don't like spending Inf.
  18. There are a few of these contacts around. I saw a female one just east of the Independence Port gate in Steel Canyon
