Sigh, although I'm usually up at 2AM yet again the EU is getting screwed over or is appearing as little more than an afterthought to the US game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

From the news post on the EU CoH site:

From 11am BST (noon CEST) on April 28th to 11:59pm BST (00:59am CEST), get ready to re-experience some of the things that have made City of Heroes® the great game that it is over the past five years!

  2. /rad for Masterminds. Just 'cause I have a MM character idea which really needs /rad to work, so, no actual sound game mechanics reason, no :-)
  3. I guess the answer depends on exactly why you're bored.

As Sinergy_X said, blaster and scrapper are both a pretty 'direct' play style. Maybe you'd have more fun with a defender or a controller, or a tank, where you have to apply more situational awareness with buffing/debuffing, control or aggro management? I can't really help with redside ATs, but MM would give you a whole teams of pets to direct.

If you generally play in large groups, you might try solo or duo. Because you can't rely on the other ATs being around to do their thing, you have to be a bit more cautious and creative, using your control powers as a blaster, f'rex.

Finally, I'd say that generally I've enjoyed my characters more when they get into their 20s. Endurance problems ease with Stamina, and you get more power options. And they get more fun again in their 30s.
  4. If you're interested in military history, some of the WWI sites are well worth a visit (Verdun, f'rex). Venice is very beautiful, lots of churches and museums. Luxembourg has some pretty countryside, and apparently no one ever goes there (it's so small they probably miss it when they drive through). Brittany is a vey beautiful part of France, and has lots of prehistoric monuments, lovely countryside and beaches. And if you're at all interested in prehistoric stuff, then Orkney is also an awesome place to visit.

I'm using the boots on a toon and from the ankles up the're nice, but the feet are just WEIRD.
  6. Carnival of Shadows, for the awesome thigh boots.

I'd actually be able to play this sunday after all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Woot! I'll definitely be there!

And I really hope you're finally feeling much better by then, too.
  8. Wondering if the servers were back yet, I loaded up the Forums and...

...so that would be no, then.

I would love this. At the moment, when doing TFs, etc, I often have the Paragonwiki open in a browser so I can read the contact dialogue etc as we go along. Obviously this isn't going to be possible with MA arcs.

    Bored Phase

    [ QUOTE ]
I'd have tried to get one myself but Print Screen pasting into Paint from CoX yielded nothing but a black screen because Microsoft only make s*** applications, and I can't be bothered to download something else.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Does Print Screen actually do a copy to clipboard at all in CoH? I assumed it just created the .jpg files in the screenshots directory.
  11. Me, me, me!

I have 3 lvl 50s, now: dark/dark def, rad/rad def, fire/ice blaster. Take your pick.

    Multiboxing

    [ QUOTE ]
As for my play times, sometimes I can get on during the day, but mostly it's nights that I play, late nights

    Between 1am and 5am, I was lucky if I saw 3 people.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Come to Defiant! Seriously, I regularly go to bed around 4am at the moment, and before the impact of the I14 open beta (and it is very quiet right now, no question) there always seemed to be plenty of people around to me. As well as the insomniacs, there are a US players like Golden Girl. Sometimes the search looks a little sparse because of peope hiding, but if you watch Defiant Events you'll see people starting up TFs, etc. (Mind you, I only play on Defiant, so the same might well be true of Union for all I know.)

I'm away all weekend, or I'd promise to join a TF with you :-)

    Multiboxing

    [ QUOTE ]
I just enjoy having my own team, not being able to do stuff, because I can't find a team the times I play, it really does my head in.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What times do you usually play? I admit that at the moment it's a bit quiet, with a lot of people off on the test server, but I'm generally surprised by how easy it is to get together a TF team at the most ridiculous times of night on Defiant. Including mad people willing to start a Dr Quarterfield TF at 1am. I guess if you get most play time during 9-5, that would be more of a problem, though.

(Disclaimer: I have nothing at all against multiboxing. It sounds quite fun, actually.)
  14. Okay. Roach Burn is level five and waiting in Pork Oakes. I'm still not sure if I'll manage to get home in time to play on Sunday, but if I don't I'll definitely be there on Monday.
  15. What powers did you have in mind for a fire/rad build? I assunme you'd want it to have the primary aoes and the Leadership pool -- what about the rad secondary powers?
  16. I would love to try this with a fire/rad, but I probably can't make this Sunday, definitely not at 6pm and maybe not at all. Would it be possible to join in from the Monday, instead?

    Self Destruct...

    [ QUOTE ]
The only way I'd really agree to this is that if the player who triggered the Self-Destruct suffered some kind of penalty - for example a big surge of debt or a maybe a travel power supression for 2 hours of game time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Conceptually, though, post-mortem Self Destruct doesn't seem to me to be any different to Rise of the Phoenix, a power that already exists in-game. Except RotP deals damange *and* has a rez. Self Destruct has a pretty long recharge, so I don't think it would be unbalancing to allow this usage, too.

    Thumbs up!

(Also, I'd like to propose an instant +fear -run effect while the power animates. Corpse starts to glow...enemies turn to flee in slooooooooow mooooooootion...BOOM!)

    Recipe Rethink

I've always assumed that the price difference between the high and low salvage was in large part due to the number of people playing at those levels. Toons move through the low levels fast, and kill relatively fewer mobs. More people play for longer at the high end, killing more mobs. Anyone playing to get purple recipe drops will incidentally generate a huge amount of high level common salvage, which they can then dump on the market.

Low supply leads to high prices, and high supply to low prices. I wouldn't be surprised if the spike in mid-level magic salvage prices after I13 came out was at least in part caused by the abrupt drop in people doing Katie Hannon runs.
  19. Controller: Sticky little fingers

Blaster (as said to me by a fire blaster on a TF): Death is part of my attack chain!

    Most inf!

    [ QUOTE ]
Well, the real reason I wondered was because I started to think of limitations, code wise. So... it would be interesting to know if anyone has had more inf than 2,147,483,647.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There is a hard cap of 2 billion inf per toon. E.g. if you're at the cap and you try to collect more inf from Wentworth's, then the inf over 2 billion just disappears. And, yes, I've seen this happen.
  21. I have a dark/dark defender if you'd prefer that to the rad/rad, but she's currently only level 42. I can try and push to level her up, but I don't know how far I would get before Sunday.
  22. I'd like to sign up please. I have a lvl 41 dark/dark defender (Penny Umbra), who I'd like to use if possible. If you'd rather have a blaster along, I have a lvl 50 fire/ice I can bring instead (Ellie Mintaal).
  23. By broadcast channel, do you mean [broadcast], or are you watching the appropriate events channel? Certainly on Defiant Events, people generally have no trouble filling up a repec trial. It's well worth subscribing to the channels, as a lot gets organized on them.

    Seeya

Good luck, and fingers crossed you'll get the chance to be back soon.
  25. My personal criteria for 5 stars is probably going to be a more overall impression of 'If this were a normal in-game mission, would I go out of my way to play it through again on a new character, and be disappointed if I levelled past and missed it?'

Although, on that basis, not all that many of the offical missions would get 5 stars.
