A veteran over on Liberty has this quote in his signature:
A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America' for an amount of 'up to, and including, my life'. -
I was reading my contributions to this list...I think I should clarify my Hami experience. I was part of the first ever Hami defeat and I was with all of the failed attempts leading up to it. My tanks themselves are w/o Hami exp but I, as an avatar operator, have experience at everything Hami.

On to other, more important things; if there is to be pink ponies I must have one! -
I don't have a firm set of rules for the mods of SHF to follow. But the channel enjoys the best behavior of all it's subscribers. I know of only two instances of silenced players in its entire history. Why does this work? Respect. I, and all those chosen as Mods, respect everyone and in turn everyone respects us.
When do the Mod sticks come out? (they are rarely more than a strategically placed "ahem" in the chat stream) Behavior warranting a moderator is rare but, to quote Justice Potter Stewart from 1964, "I know it when I see it." The mods are all leaders or core members of their SGs, hence the trust to have them as Mods, and they "know it when they see it", too. When it is time for moderation, it is there, no rules are needed.
I think there is room for as many channels as can be created out there. Darwin's Law will sort them out. -
Due to a scheduling conflict, there will be no Sisterhood Sunday Event this weekend on August 29th. Instead, I have a super neato survey to replace the actual event!
Seriously, take a look and your time is appreciated.

Quote:Ouch.As an LB moderator, I don't plan to stop anyone from advertising LBnoBS, Liberty's Channel, SisterhoodFriends, Camo's Teen Lounge, Robo's Lounge, or any other random vaguely Liberty-related chat channel they want
I never claimed SisterhoodFriends was the Liberty channel. I actually promote and encourage folks to join LB, telling them it's our biggest channel. I call SHF a Liberty channel in my forum sig, but I post all over the forums so I kind of thought letting people know where it was based was being a responsible spokewoman.
LB is by far the most populated and most utilized channel that has a majority of Liberty residents as subscribers. No question. Is SisterhoodFriends a good sized, healthy channel? Absolutely. I don't think we are a "random, vaguely Liberty-related chat channel".

Quote:Congratulations on your exciting new venture! I hope it is everything you want it to be.I am currently looking for any other SGs that might be willing to allow us to become part of their coalitions to help out as Team Veritas gets its feet off the ground.
(Geronimo, get in touch with me. We can help.) -
Thanks for the help, all. I am still unable to edit but it finally accepted my new profile...

I'm not sure who or what has taken over at badge-hunter.com, but I got tired of can't log in, can't download, can't register, can't validate, can't post, can't can't can't can't...and I have given up on them.
Anyone else having issues with them lately? -
Congrats to Nemu, Hazy, Wonder Arrow and Geronimo!
Thanks for your contributions. -

This is why you can't commit and not follow through. The next time you post up a raid, it will be a 50/50 shot of people showing up. There certainly won't be anyone rushing home or skipping work for it.

Yay!
I can't believe how many of the old school folks are coming back. -
I thought I'd swipe this and get it over here in case it wanders off for some reason...

Cathedral of Pain - Guide
Please consider this guide a suggestion and not a definitive solution to completing the Cathedral of Pain with any degree of success.
~~~~~Strategy~~~~~
Preparation:
Team Preparation
Prepare your teams ahead of time - you'll need all twenty-four (24) players possible. You will need to have three teams of eight, and it is best to coordinate ahead of time who is leading what team. It is best to assign each team the name of one of the particular obelisks (Gloom, Woe, Despair).
Prior to running the trial, it is helpful/essential to gather shivans & nukes for all team members. The day of, or prior, each team should meet and help each other through Bloody Bay & Warburg to ensure that as many team members as possible have these additional weapons in their arsenal.
It is also suggest to meet in Pocket D and enter the SG base there, due to convenience of the medical rez units and insp vendors in Pocket D.
What (is suggested) You'll Need
A. Go to Bloody Bay, get shivans.
B. Go to Warburg, get one of each rocket (Chemical, Biological, Nuclear).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
Part One:
1. Assemble at respective obelisks for team (Woe/Gloom/Despair).
2. Team Leaders only communicate in the Request channel.
3.Teams attack Judgment Cube spawns simultaneously (it is suggested MM's/tanks/brutes head in first to buffer squishies from insta-death). When the cube's spawns are defeated, the Obelisk's shields will go down.[/i]
4. Team Leaders, when your obelisk's shield is down, in the Request channel, shout "Exposed."
5. Teams attack obelisks (it is suggested MM's/tanks/brutes head in first to buffer squishies from insta-death). Bring the Obelisk's health down to 30%. Forcing the Natterlings away from the obelisks reduces its regeneration.
6 Go to step 3 and repeat until all teams's Obelisks are at 30%. When your team's obelisk is down to 30%, do NOT defeat it until the others are all exposed. Beat it down some, but the defense will come back and the Rularuu will respawn. So it's a matter of maintenance and timing.
6A Team leaders try to slow down or speed up attacks to try to match other teams. If it looks like all three groups are at the same pace, you might try to finish the obelisks without holding at 30%. Leave that decision in the hands of the raid leader.
7 Once everyone is ready and all obelisks are exposed to 30%, then attack and defeat. The Obelisks will be restored 30 seconds after being defeated, so it is critical for all three to come down within the 30 second window of the first one coming down.
Part Two:
1. Assemble at the central access point and buff up.
2. Everyone enter the access point, and immediately move to the left of the entrance.
3. At the request of the team leader, launch a fewBiological Mutagens. Take out the cube spawns from one side of the map (under one of the cubes is fine).
4. When the Aspect's shield is down, at the request of the team leader, drop a couple ofChemical Burns and
Nuclear Blasts and whatever else you've got.
5. Expect the Aspect's shields to go up, and when it does, retreat to the edge of the circle defeating all the cube spawns quickly. Do NOT stay in the center as you will get attack by spawns from all three cubes AND the Aspect (while it has its shields up).
6. When all the cube spawns are defeated (hopefully quickly), toss everything you've got at the Aspect (including moreNuclear Blasts if you have them).
7. Repeat as needed or until time runs out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
I'll go this...looks like the overnight/midnight crowd has weighed in pretty heavily!
-
I am definitely onboard with running this the first weekend its live!
Difficult never scared me away before. -
Getting 50 like-minded people together is not difficult. The coordination to get them in the Hive is a bit tricky but doable.
-
It requires three teams of 8, with the coordination of which teams will attack where being planned ahead of time.
It was impossible to complete on the beta server without all 24 members having Shivans and Warburg Nukes. (I think this is a definite sign that they went overboard on the difficulty) -
Happy Birthday!
I hope it's a great day, calla.
