Matt,

I will give it a try as I still need a Hami on my BS/WP scrapper. I have about 1.5 hrs of work/travel time to go.

I'll postpone this Hami Raid till saturday or sunday depending if the Sisterhood wants to do another. I'm not feeling up to leading it tonight, and also have some SG stuff to do at 9pm.

Blarg, and I made sure to come straight home from work (and leave work on time) so I could make it...

This is why you can't commit and not follow through. The next time you post up a raid, it will be a 50/50 shot of people showing up. There certainly won't be anyone rushing home or skipping work for it.

Real life can cause plans to go to hell, buut why not find someone else to lead if you just didnt feel like it. This is not what liberty needs right now.

now if it had something to do with lack of response here then i get that, just say that. Its just coming off like you were being lazy and we dont want to crush the enthusiasm that has been built lately.

So, I'm curious, who do we have that is "qualified" to lead. There are plenty of folks I have confidence in, that may or may not know all the ins and outs of the Goo. (The Hive and Hamidon)
I know that HazyGrey can lead, I've got faith that the Sisterhood can get it done, and I know that Matt can get it done as well.

Obviously, it takes commitment from the server as a whole, but who are the other known leaders? I've been gone, now I'm back and am wondering who's willing and able.

I'd be interested in leading, but there are 2 things stopping me - lack of confidence in my knowledge about Hami and his mysteries, (which could be overcome) and real life circumstances that don't allow for firm commitments. And firm commitments, when dealing with 50 people is a part of the puzzle that makes a successful raid.

I know the Sentinels of Liberty SG (American Valor and Steele Magnolia, et al) can lead a MSR, and they can probably do Hami as well, but I've not seen this yet.

Anyone else? I'm sure there are SGs that can do this, we just don't hear about it.

Where's Tax E to tell us how disappointed she is?

Its not like that at all Cold. Just people expressing their feelings. No one should be mad at anyone.

I will follow ANYONE into the hive at this point. I think there were just a few ppl that were disappointed about getting delayed. We have had steamroller like momentum on Hami for a couple of weeks now and I would hate to see anything stop that.

Now the UPP may be able to lead one but this is not the place for that. Not to mention we havent really discussed it recently.

But anyway like I said, no one is mad or name calling, least not me anyways. We just dont want to take the wind out of anyone's sails.

I can't help you with issue 2, but issue 1 can be taken care of quite easily. Paragonwiki.com has the basic info on Hami himself, as do a couple posts on this forum. When the free server transfers were around the first time, I transferred toons over to champion, virtue, and justice just to get a feel for hami raiding again. Free transfers are coming up again, so it might not be a bad idea to do that.

Leading is all about planning. Come up with a plan, make sure people know what the plan is, and get enough people willing to try it. That is what hami leading is. A lot of other server forums have their Hami Strategy usually on the first page. Matt's own other topic has his strategy in it, my wednesday night raid topic has mine.

/gignore @username is the best feature of this game. It's also probably the least used feature.

This. 100 times, this.

There is nothing special to leading Hami raids other than educating yourself about Hami, the various strats, organizing a time and some leaders to help out. When I started leading raids, I did what Hazy did. I checked out the Wiki, I read the post i9 guides provided on the forums, and I attended raids on other servers to see how it was done first hand and to take note of any differences between servers. Despite having lead over a year's worth of raids, I still go to other servers sometimes to maintain a fresh perspective, or compare notes with leaders on other servers. There are different ways of completing the raid, and a lot of that depends on what you have available to work with. Whichever way you decide to use, the best results will come with everyone being on the same page and participating.

Everything you'd need to know is out there. It's all about taking the initiative.
