The big bad wolf got bigger. Grats.

Hehe. I sense a great disturbance in RV. ;-)

Not bad for a little blue guy! Carry on!

Mercenaries must sometimes be given commands to adjust for quirky behaviour, and messed a bit with, for better performance.
But it's not so much work with them, as with the melee types IMHO. Less micro management. They generally behave fairly well, with a few basic commands. I personally find mercenaries mostly reliable. I have played around with the Robots as well, but only up to level 40. The robots have fascinating odd moments of their own. :-)
The issues listed here are valid of course. The mindless spamming of attacks, when they become available. The suicide medic, whith the odd priorities. The not-quite-getting-what-invisibility-do-for-them Spec-Ops, that sometimes snipe, sometimes have other plans. ;-)
TA may simply not synergise well with mercenaries, since they manage to conjure up a fairly good amount of XP otherwise. Thanks for sharing your experiences, and for the warning. It may be a sub-optimal combination, at least.
It could be your MM is in a bad level range currently as well. The game can seemingly grind to a halt for most sets at some point, especially when soloing. I might have missed the level of your MM, I see you got some high level toons otherwise.

Sorry about the initial response. I am a bit judgmental, and jumped to the gun.

I got a /rad Corruptor, as indicated in the previous thread, but will be gone sunday and monday, due to seasonal activities. That's the 24. and 25. of December.
Otherwise I am available most of the time. With a level 50 /rad corruptor. Name is Astrum Radius, but should be contacted by the global @Max Verstummelung or by in-game mail to that same character, without the @.
Global Handle: @Max Verstummelung
Character Name: Astrum Radius Rad/Rad Corruptor.
In-game e-mail: Max Verstummelung.
Available most days, but not the above days, due to the special case of seasonal activities.

1. I got a /rad Corruptor
2. Always staying for the duration.
3. @Max Verstummelung
And a happy new year. ;-)

You let the other thread die, so perhaps people lost interest because of that? :-)

The Hamidon raids do not concern me.
Sunday is fine.
@Max Verstummelung -
I got a level 50 Rad/Rad.
Astrum Radius is the name.
It's been a while now, so I am game. ;-)
--- -
Yeah, you got that right.
It did not show up. And it's not like you can raise the army needed to take it down, any morning before even the birds bother to make a sound, on Defiant. And you can bet no GM will ever bother to spawn one for us either, because Defiant is as far away from the center of the CoX universe, you can get. ;-) -
I have no objection to travel back to the future once again, to fight for the glory of the 5th... uh, for the glory of Lord Recluse.
Perhaps this may be a faint echo compared to the things that transpired during the test of this portal. But far better than the whisper it has become.
There has been a lot of testing in RV, but mainly by destroying turrets efficiently. Not exactly helping along a future victory.
Unless the turrets should tear themselves free from their resting places, and march towards the isles. A scenario that few have lost sleep over. ;-)

We continued the fight, and I am happy to report that we managed to take over the zone once more. Thanks for starting the event.
Signed,
Max Verstummelung. -
Bah. I like them as they are. Being able to adjust their appearance, would of course be nice. I would like grey uniforms on them all. They are just not uniform enough. Haha.
But no lasers on my mercenaries. I like the piles of used ammo, it ain't fancy, but it gets the job done. Not all have based their MM on future technology. Some have based them on retro-futuristic technology. :-) -
Ah-ha!
I will contact Max Verstummelung, and his storm troopers. ;-)

We killed between 30 and 40 Eochai in Mercy eventually, after searching the other zones for hours.

More actually. IIRC your team had defeated him about 30 times before I joined you.
After I joined we took him down 23 more times before giving up.

Ah, well. Sorry. Lost count, after a while. At least I don't exaggerate then. LOL.
I really had no wish to play today BTW. I'll be back later. ;-)

Yes, logged off because we had been searching for it all day. I don't care if it spawned a zillion times just after that, the day was no more, and a lot of people had been out looking, and there was NO reports at all! I KNOW there was a lot of people looking in every zone!!!
We killed between 30 and 40 Eochai in Mercy eventually, after searching the other zones for hours. There was NO indication of Jack, because some of us searched other zones while in Mercy. And we had contact with other people through different channels. And I am not talking about the official channels.
Hard to find is one thing, impossible is another. It does not help that it spawned late at evening/night, when a lot of people had simply given up, and gone off to bed.
This was a rather poor start for the event, and only helped to fuel some general resignation and anger towards a system, that failed to deliver.
While MMORPG's may be all about wasting your time, it's a fair assumption that a day searching for something that cannot be found, is a day that could have been used better. ;-)

Sure you can take traps, good luck trying to solo EB's with just triage beacon healing ya
Dark is the way to go and you all know it!
[/ QUOTE ]
Taking the Traps MM out of Port Oakes helps, can't say soloing EB's was a problem further down the road. I got a 50 merc/traps, that makes me qualified to say they don't suck against EB's. ;-) ( The Triage Beacon is not quite useless, in conjunction with Bodyguard btw. )
But you get other tools, against EB's, and they work fine. I played a Robo/Dark up to 39, and I don't think the EB's/AV's/Heroes was more difficult to handle at that point, with traps. ;-)
They key here, is to pick a set you can have fun with. Not making a notion about "uberness" and then play from that point of view. Sure show stopper at one point or another.
So pick whatever suits your idea of fun, that's the ticket. :-) -
Congratulations reaching zee big 50.

I suggest you all avoid the Merc/Traps combination, because it can be addictive. Stay away, it is not too late for you. ;-)
