  1. hey Rogue! Glad to see your posting on the fanart forums now so more people could admire your fine work! It seriously needed to be seen by more people and I really can not wait to see what you do with Rowr!

This has a great feel, Graver...the wings are wonderful! Her skin seems a bit...chalky, perhaps? Maybe smoothing out the tones on her skin would really bring out the softness of this piece.
...I gotta do a digital painting sometime!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hum... I'll play around with that. But color and surface-wise, this is far from finished. I still need to add the ambient color, color from the various light sources, reflected color, and on the skin, I still need to add in the various colors of all the junk under the skin.

I'm not too sure how I'll smooth the skin out more (I'm still learning Painter and how to do stuff and I spent hours upon hours smudging and blending the "paint" on her skin... it didn't get much smoother. And another part of me implanted by the thousand and one art instructors who pulled their hair out trying to get me to paint in a more painterly fashion kind of digs the marks, especially o her legs where I ended up trying to use them to help define the form of the leg. Of course that might be a bad thing... hrm... I'll definitely be messing around with it LOTS more

Oh, and squirrel, don't be jealous until I can actually produce a work in something roughly resembling a timely fashion! Hell, most people *glares at Gill* are able to produce a seriously amazing work in the time it takes me to draw a circle
  3. Way too cute, as per usualy for you there Scarf! I love the way you do paws XD

And glad you is feelin' better!

    Atillita

FINALLY at long last, I have finished Atillita! I'm sorry for the lack of updates on this one, but being as I still had to paint this one on 140lbs paper, which meant it had to be stretched, I couldn't scan it... and I can't seem to locate the battery charger for my camera I swear some Chinese guy felt my life should be interesting... and I will hunt him down and throttle him, ger!

But with or without updates, the end result is still the same. So, without any more of my rambling, I give you

    The Killing Blow

I would say more, but I'm a bit out of sorts at the moment. But rejoice, for she is complete, and everyone in line shall move up one spot! yay!
  5. I bet none of you saw this coming, did you? Thought this thread was dead, didn't you? Well, it's not for I give you...

    Another Battle-Angel Update

Someday, this will actually be finished... hopefully before Doug hunts me down and skins me alive for making him wait so long
  6. OMG! That's great. You got his face dead on i think... so Wind... kinda. And, yes, Ribbons! W00T! And the Tigger (that space pirate kitty) plushy, and the... wow... this is gonna be great DB... now Abby's just gotta teach him the proper way good kitties wear their collars! XD

    Great as usual
  7. Graver

    My 100th piece!!

    soon, all will be Virtue
  8. [ QUOTE ]
But....but....no bows on poor Windy But maybe a collar with a bell!! Abs has been trying to slip one on him for EVER XD

I don't think the pose is that suggestive at all DB, I think it's more cutesy playful than anything (typically un-Wind, which is why I like it )

    [ QUOTE ]
Finally it is nice to see a male hero that is not muscle bound that also fit the feline look.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Right???? I turned the sliders all the way down on Wind and he's still a little too muscle-bound for me. Another gripe for the devs (along with a need for smaller bewbs XD )

    [/ QUOTE ]

First of all, ya, I'd agree with the whole slider thing... I tried to make a skinny [censored] hero, ad the best I could do was a physique so much better then mine I'd kill my self trying to get it! And Abby isn't really supposed to have brestises but even with the slider all the way down, she's still got a set that I've seen girls get implants to have

And Star, Mr. Boots will wear that collar, he will! He should be more like that good space pirate kitty, Tigger, and just wear the collar... and it has Abby's phone number on it incase he ever gets lost and needs to be returned. it a sign of how much Abby loves her new kitties! And if he won't wear the collar, then he'll wear the bows and ribbons... actually, that's a real nice idea DB (especially since star doesn't like it!) +all my votes for the robins and bows!

And ya, for the pose to be suggestive there'd either have to be a lot more thrust in them hips or the back-side would need to be raised up to catch a lot more air
  9. Graver

    My 100th piece!!

    [ QUOTE ]
Star your very talented , don't sell youself short just cause you are short :P

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ya, and besides, your freakishly long torso more then makes up for your nubbly legs, so that shuldn't even be an excuse

And congrats on 100... you freakish machine you. And as i said ion DA, man, that is one sweet peice!
  10. wow! great work there man. It's incredibly busy, but with the different line weights, it's not chaotic, just very interesting and engrossing! very nice!
  11. [ QUOTE ]
Its not just the chibis tho Star has made a steady improvement in her art across the board , practice has really payed off and im mucho jealous of folks like her that blossom so fast :P

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, ya, of course she is... a marked milestone being Windfallen... I wasn't insinuating that she wasn't! It was the other guy what was saying she wasn't getting no better at her regular art, not me... STOP PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH!
  12. I love the new batch! And damn, you are getting quite handy with that tablet! I was looking back over your older chibis and I can see a definite marked improvement (dooooom to all who think you can't get better at making chibies!) The crisp clear colors really help as does the exciting new backgrounds

And don't sweat the bar results... I'll be sacrificing my neighbor to the Those From Beyond the Veil to insure your success... and to put an end to his new 8 am sex romps... gerrrrrr!
  13. Well, this idea has gone through a good few revisions before arriving at this quite unfinished state, but at long last, I have something for a WIP post, yay!

So, here's Serratte's (or how ever the name is spelled... sorry :X) broad-sword berzerker Atallita.

Also, the sword in the rough there will be a bit redesigned for the final painting into something closer to this.

    More to come... soon!
  14. [ QUOTE ]
O I think Starrys character Windfallen is definitely slated to be turned into beefcake in the near future :P

    [/ QUOTE ]

Windfallen... beefcake!?!?... that... dosn't add up! arg! He's always the lill' beyach boy in the relationship *clciks back to Fineris and Windfallen* yup... the beyach
  15. Graver

    Satan's Priest

wow, that's a great drawing there, sir! You have a great style and a good solid character... and I love all those nice sketchy lines!

Oh, and the imps are great as well
  16. a great piece there... and those tatoo's do totaly rock!
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Alone, that might be ok... but if you wanted "Uberchrome Man" to be locked in battle with the "Reflectinator", I might need backup.

    [/ QUOTE ]

OMG, they'll have reflections each other's reflection of the other reflecting the other! My brain, it BURNS! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Oh, and a great ren... er, digital pa... er, um, digital work there DJ! I'd agree about the faces, but it's such a minor thing in comparison to the mighty awsomeness of the rest of the work. And, damn am I ever digging the more painted parts of the work... Cyber-Girls skirt, those little highlights on Ms. Hor... er Thornie's skirt, those great vines, and that rad smoke! Ever since the Last TA vs AoT, you've really gotten off on that wonderful rolling smoke idea!

And is it wrong that the knowledge that this one took you three weeks makes me ecstatically happy?
  18. Graver

    Hexgirl

Hey, thats a damned nice drawing there! I LOVE the feet! Yes! And you have a great pose there, especialy with the contra-posta... er contra psotster... er... that italian type word that means counter pose, ger, it's late...

Ya, but the hips / shoulders is quite nice. As for the hands, I'd say you went wrong by adding a touch too much. Unless your doing an up close shot of the hand, it's best not to draw in the knucle creases (those are very subtle and shuold only be done with subtle shading or coloring... making lines of them makes her hands look quite old and weathered.) Just draw less details on the hands, and that should clear some things up...

Also, you might wanna rotate the picture just a hair to the right... almost looks like she's a bit tipsy and having some difficulty walkun' the line XD All in all, though, excelent work!
  19. It looks right good to me! I'm not entirely certain how cheesecake it is... I licked it but all I tasted was just and static electricity from the monitor. Either way, it's right good and you have no reason to be nervous! I don't know if it's good girl art though... she looks right devious...
  20. Nice work thus far... I really dig the penciled look too Left you more in-depth comments on your DA site but great stuff... keep it rolling!
  21. YAY! Abby and Mal! W00T! Thank you soooo much! I love her... and I with like hell I could make her eyes and teeth like that in game, she just looks so much like the space cadet she is!

And the others are, as per usual, freakin' cute. You're getting good with the tablet after all! hah! Vegas strip looks... like she's had one helluva night um... on the strip though I think the next cutest one has to be Hexadecimal... there's just something about those eyes XD
  22. Oh dear god! I'll never be able to look at hinm the same way again! gahhh... I'll never be able to look at anything again... I'm blind, BLIND!

PS: good job on the neeples hehehahahaha!
  23. ROFL! Damn, so that's why they couldn't keep their paws offa one another... I thought they was just fighting... but... am I gonna have to get the cats fixed? We just can't have this kinda tom foolery! XD
  24. Heh, thanks all... and, really, it's not a very good circle.. maybe next time... next time...

    [ QUOTE ]
What did you use to make this? It looks like you got different weighted lines.

    *Also throws tablet into street*

    [/ QUOTE ]

And this was made with a Wacom Intous 6x8 tablet and PaintShop Pro X. I just used the standard paint bush for the line work in 2 sizes, 5px and 10px. I set brush variance for the paint brush to increase/decrease the size of the brush based on pressure as well as the opacity. I'll try width next time to see how that looks.

Also, I have sick neurotic compulsions which prevent me for ever just drawing a line once. I have to go back over it again and again and again and again and...
  25. [ QUOTE ]
I guess your unlikely to Draw DB... in compromising positions :P

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, that is, apparently, my job

And Arc, that is coming along nicely. Good job fixing the shoulders and breasts... and crotch XD.

The major thing I notice now would be the eyes. They appear to be a bit too intense (but then, it is Radey, so... hum) and more then likely, the coloring will fix that. However, there is something for you to work on in the future (unless your really ambitious and want to do it for this piece)... and that would be the shape of the eyes.

You have here the classic football eye when eyes, in truth, are in no way shaped like a football. Our minds, however, like to simplify things into easily recallable shapes... makes storing and recalling info much easier and quicker... essential for survival. However,, in ding this, the thing becomes more of a symbol for the thing instead of an accurate representation of said thing... and thus, football eyes.

When you have the time, sit down in front of a mirror and start drawing your eyes as you see them, not as you think they are. Really pat attention to what the eyelids are doing and how they wrap around that shiny ball filled with jelly that sits in your skull. Note their shape, at what point the top lid stops rising and begins descending. Note where the upper and lower lids meet on each side of the eye (you'll notice that they are not on the horizontal plain).

That just looks like the next major item for you to tackle...

Also, in regards to being a bit hesitant to ink and color Radey, one thing that should work is to get a good high rez scan of the pencils, print that out and, if your feeling a bit lowbrow, just ink and color the print out... if you screw up, nothing but time is lost . Or, if you want the drawing on something a bit more archival, coat the back of the printout with graphite, tape the print out down to what ever you want the drawing to be on with the printout facing you and the graphite facing the paper you want to make the drawing on, then just trace over the lines with a decent amount of pressure and, blam-o, you just transferred the drawing... and again, if you mess it up, all you lose is time. There's no reason to be hesitant or afraid, just dooooeeeet!
