Ok, so this week's update is that although storage is getting a little scarce for enh and insps I'm going to wait until we've expanded our plot before adding more. This is because, AFAIK, we'll likely lose most of what we have stored in the transfer over since you can't just expand the plot and transfer the rooms, incl. contents, over to the new plot.
[/ QUOTE ]
You don't lose your base or anything in it when you upgrade your plot. I upgraded The Islanders' base from the default plot a couple of weeks ago and nothing was affected - all our enh/insp/salvage stores contained exactly the same items after the plot upgrade as they had done before, and no placed items were lost (crafted or not).
When you buy a new plot it lets you slide the larger plot space around the existing base, so you can choose on which side of the base you want the extra space to appear.
You don't have to destroy/delete your existing base or anything like that (thank goodness, or I probably wouldn't have bothered).

YAAAYYY! Thanks for that info.
Right so, once our current raid problem is sorted I'll set about abusing every free inch of space for some storage. I've sent a petition as 3 of us spent a fair chunk of last night trawling various CoX forums for a reason as to why we're not being allowed to raid... probably end up being something stupidly simple we've missed...
This also removes the need for me to recraft stuff from salvage so I can leave all the salvage until there's something we clearly need. -
As long as the goal isn't simply to do the RSF I'd keep the char. If it is then you should just focus on your corrupter and ignore MM toons.

Drawback - you don't get a pet repair or heal with Zombies, but Dark works to their strengths.
[/ QUOTE ]
After you get the second upgrade power you do as all pets get a life tap type power that drains enemy HP to restore their own, except for the Lich who gets a PBAoE type one.
So with Zombies/Dark you can end up with a whole lot of healing going around.
The heals even count for the heal others badges. -
Did a little reshuffle of base control and workshop components (not storage mind you) and so freed up enough prestige that we now have a vault, with IoP base, and the 6 anchors we needed. So at the moment we should be completely set should the Cathedral of pain make a come back in the near future and should be completely set for friendly base raids (both as attackers and defenders).
Checked to see if I could set up base raids after this shuffle last night but no luck. As such I'm trying to find out what the problem is. Bru has agreed to the raid, just needs to ensure his SG are interested, so this technical hitch is all that I'm worried about.
If we can't have the base raid next weekend (18th), then I'll see about throwing a costume competition with a full set of Halloween salvage and inf as a prize instead. Either way I plan to start getting more regular events going which have absolutely no lvl requirements on them, let the whole SG enjoy them as a group.
Anyway, once I know if it'll be a raid or a costume competition I'll post further details. -

Possibility to divide the base into areas of different color and assign editing rights to those areas individually.

This idea I like as decorative rooms have no physical purpose beyond entertainment and so I'd gladly let most people muck about with that room (hoping to install one in the larger plot whenever we can get it). -
Ok, so this week's update is that although storage is getting a little scarce for enh and insps I'm going to wait until we've expanded our plot before adding more. This is because, AFAIK, we'll likely lose most of what we have stored in the transfer over since you can't just expand the plot and transfer the rooms, incl. contents, over to the new plot. So whatever we can't easily carry on characters will be lost (at the moment 200 enhancements, 8 per char, we'll need a full 25 chars so definitely do-able at the moment but if I add more before we upgrade it'll become more difficult). The insp storage is less of a concern as people don't seem to be finding a need for them as yet, maybe once we start the base raiding, and I can rebuild that stockpile more easily as lvl 53 SOs can take time to stockpile.
At this point in time I could sell everything, upgrade the plot and recreate the workshop with all the storage we now have but no further base functionallity so I want to wait until we have enough to recreate most of the base, make sure we can still use the Teleporters and do base raiding.
Considering the current rate of prestige earning you guys are managing we should be able to upgrade in a few weeks hopefully, but no rush. -
All I know on the matter is that there was a while during which I didn't play my main, Gravecall, and as such he got demoted to the 2nd highest rank, while one of my others, who was previously of the lowest rank got promoted to the highest rank (was alone in the SG at that time so all my alts were of the lowest rank). Didn't play that char for a while and he got demoted while Gravecall got re-promoted to the highest rank. So this leaves me thinking that it will alway promote the person with the next highest rank to leader, so if none of the people with the second highest rank are still active it will just keep cycling them all as leader, never even glancing at those lower down the command chain.

Sadly I think even 32 players would set up some pretty lag-tastic battles so 150 would, currently at least, just be completely unrealistic.
-
Now have the 3rd bookshelf, so 200 control.
Had a quick go with the Expert worktable and created one of the control aux items from it, I believe it's called a mystic bookshelf, costs over a mil prestige to place and needs 1K power to supply 500 control, think I'll be holding on to that for a very long time for the SG... -
I have tactics slotted with 2 ACC Buff SOs and MMs are supposed to be pretty high on the scale of the buff modifier so I don't think that's all there is to it either.
Aim and Build-up perhaps as MMs can't get those powers. -

lol, more people complaining about overpowered scrappers, while a decent dark/ MM would take down any scrapper, regen, the lot

andhave you tried to fight a Mastermind with a fast heal, and bodyguard? no matter what you are your toast..MM are the most powerful PVP AT's in my opinion, if used well.

My BS/SR destroys MMs through bodyguard
[/ QUOTE ]
Heavy single target damage for t3h win I'm thinking. ... oh and SR of course meaning MM's likely debuffs/heals (especially Twilight Grasp) really would have trouble hitting.

Having fought a number of scrappers in RV (usually due to them spotting me while attacking turrets):
Yes they have difficulty dealing enough damage due to bodyguard, but I, with my pets, have just as much difficulty dealing any significant damage to them. The thing people are forgetting is the fact that the pets are all lower lvl so seem to hit even less often than I do. It usually ends up being a case of:
(a)- run away
(b)- wait for back-up
(c)- get stunned/slept/held and stand there and die since I now have no resistance/defence boost as all those powers are toggles hence I'm now taking a lot more DPS.
Some scrappers don't even get near the red, in terms of HP, when I've a heavy as well as the rest of my pets!
As for the heal I hit more often against EBs than players and that's with 2xACC SOs in it so it's not that great, maybe a 33% chance to hit...
PPP - most PvP heroes seem to have some form of decent Mez resist as I've yet to successfully hold a hero, so the immobs/holds are pretty useless, even though I regularly have to pop break-frees when fighting against heroes. So from the PPP the only worthwhile power for PvP is the defence. And again I feel I should point out that I regularly managed to immob/hold EBs, often achieving a near perma-hold, when I had these powers (dropped them in respec for the LRSF) so it's not for want of accuracy/recharge. I'm doubtful that most heros have more than 2 holds and 1 Immob power so I can only assume it means they have better resistance to such powers than me or theirs are all autohit.
Think the only place MMs are overpowered in PvP is Bloody Bay (does kinda need addressing) since heroes have yet to get access to so many of their powers while we're already a one man gank squad, already having most of our pets (the key to all our damage dealing/taking potential). -
Will the auto-demotion not just promote the next highest rank member, so if the second in command is absent also you just get a loop between the two?

One of the big issues is that if you're after a "functional" base and are a small/medium sized SG you eventually hit a wall where you're going nowhere for a very long time, that wall being the absolute maximum amount of power and control items you're able to place on the first plot. Once you've hit that, the only way you can improve it any further is to place a bigger power generator (turbine) or control generation item (advanced database), which you'll be able to craft relatively quickly from salvage but won't be able to afford for a long time. The rent can be a bit of a pain but it's not as huge an issue as the lack of middleground items in my opinion.
Telepads can at present only hold two zone beacons, there aren't any higher capacity ones, so in order to have more than two zones you need to place a second. Then you soon end up hitting the limit for teleport pads in a room since you can't afford the portal chamber and the only decently priced medium sized room is limited to 2 pads in it like the one below, the extra tiles are for decorative purposes only. Which means you end up building more small rooms that hold 2 pads each, taking up more plot space, and eventually you've crammed all you're able to into the hidden location. Then the goal post of 1.5mill prestige to afford one of two items you need to progress, and the even larger sum required for the bigger plot you'll need to place them, start becoming too big of an expectation when you've also got the base rent to keep up with. You can choose to stop paying it until you've saved up that enourmous amount of prestige, but that effectively means you'll be spending a very long time without base access, and you're right back at square one.
So I don't think a boost to the rate that prestige is earned is as effective as they believed it would be, I think they either need to reduce the cost of base items and rooms across the board completely (along with devising a better rent system), or they need to start adding more intermediary items so there isn't as huge of a step once you do hit that point of no return with the first plot.

Have to agree with you, realised the other night that Nightfall were approaching this point in that for control we already have 3 of the 4 aux slots used with 2 bookshelves (+50 each) and the arcane SG mission computer (so we can do the 2nd SF and raid) and for example; even with the addition of a 3rd bookshelf we'll never be able to keep an expert worktable in our base, even with no other worktables. We'll have to wait on a larger plot size before we can have such things as permanent features... for the moment using one will probably mean selling the Raid TP and Rez rings while I do so (to free up some control). To upgrade the control source costs about 1.625 mil AFAIR, so about 1.2 mil if I sell the current control sources, basically it'd nearly be as cheap to just buy the next plot size and at least that would also reduce the concern of running out of space for base features. Strangely still have plenty of excess power available with no aux items for power... but then I think control tends to be the limiting resource for most SGs. -
FYI was hunting the Halloween GMs with some others yesterday and Jack spawned on the northern end of the eastern island in Sharkshead (see second pic for GM spawns in Sharkshead on the site you've linked to), so there's another spawn point there.

Thanks for that. Certainly know some of the group should be up for friendly raids and others may join out of curiousity, will have to make sure to give the group a fair heads up to make sure at least enough for a single team definitely show up. Just want to check, AFAIK there was a bug with the friendly raids before in that items destroyed would remain destroyed, is that still the case? If so I'll need to warn the guys to avoid attacking base features. Also best make sure to get some targeted slagging and comebacks keybound.
As for the SFs I've certainly let 2 of the guys know already and think I'll head off now and set the MotD to let everyone else know. Most of the group are only eligible for the first SF but hopefully they might gain the necessary lvls through it to do the next, etc.... -
Well, we now have a raid TP so we are capable of making friendly raids against others (already had arcane SG mission computer).
The Cap SF, though longer than intended, finally went well and 2 of the group dinged 20 as a result. -
Yeah, I think 99% of the player base would agree that Rent is more the problem than the rate of prestige earning.

they have already implimented the 25% increase on restige earned for kills and missions completes what they realy need to dois stop the prestige sharing when in a team.
at the moment is your solo on a easy misison you will get about 12 to 16 for a minion kill however if you go in to a team with one other player that halfs so you both get about 8 ish.
not only would this make earning a lil easyer it would ecourage people to actuly teamw ith the sg a lil more and teammore in general coz they wont need to worry about loosing out on there sg earning while working together
[/ QUOTE ]
Don't tend to pay much attention to earnings when on a team so I never even noticed that! -
So...
Salvage trade done, we now have lots more shiny arcane salvage awaiting the time when we're finished becoming Raid-ready.
We're now coalitioned with:
Nirvana (& a friend in the group says they'd be glad to do some base raiding against us so be good fun, especially for the PvP centred/curious)
E.V.I.L.
The Violators
Dark Lords of the Underworld
Vessel of the Shadowshard
E.V.I.L are the only ones we can't have a peek around the base of so feel free to joke about this in the coalition chat, much...em... theorisingas to the why of this was going on in the coalition channel last night (Bru has some plausible ideas).
-
Kinslayer's started another exodus of players it seems...
Pretty sure I've only teamed with you the once but I know enough of you to respect you. Guess even additions to the game won't bring you back (at least that's how it sounds) so good luck with life where-ever it takes you. -
Back from the work trip so should be on tonight, hopefully can arrange it then (have a few other things to organise too though, e.g. change the SG MoTD to let them all know I'm back and also what's new for the SG, also address anything the members have e-mailed me about in my absence, set up some coalitions, etc...)
-

I'd settle for 25% too mind.

Certainly be enough for a few rooms... -
Glad to hear you got a good send off, shame about that one muppet, hope you let the leader of his/her SG know about his behaviour, as if one of my group were behaving so poorly I'd certainly want to know so I imagine any other SG leader who cares about his SG would too.
Hope this isn't a final goodbye and the devs do manage to come up with enough to at least occasionally entice you back.
Anyway good luck in WoW, hopefully they will learn to respect you there as much as many of us here have. -
Ooohhh, sneaky, lol.
I'm back from my work trip today anyway so I'll get in contact tonight to set up the coalitions. Our base is open to Coalition members too, as I figured it would be better should there be any inter-SG RPing, leave them as much choice as possible as to what they get up to and where. Also allows creative criticism of the base lay out which can't hurt. -
Yup, that's the power room. Sadly the bridges are rigid, tried jumping up and down on it but it wouldn't budge...
PS- sorry about last night, fell asleep I was tired and camping that door for ToTing was sooooo boring during the minute intervals before I could click again. Hope the leveling continues to go well.
