  1. With the help on another stranded alien, Nhailo has made the rather disturbing discovery that the star from which the survivors cae is, alas, no longer there....
  2. I will try to get there with Bat-Hawk, but I'm not sure what time i'll be getting in at tomorrow
  3. I think I've got a spare character that can be used to do that...
  4. So, hows this all set then? Are we going to go for a preliminary thing on Monday, for example? The monkey bar in Pocket D can make an adequate stand-in for the Haven Novae's stasis chamber, or something...
  5. Nhilo is from a world where flaura become the most dominant life-form, not fauna. They developed a system similar to that of the mammals, one of bi-pedal movement, so that they could move quickly across their world, remaining in the light side of their fast-spinning globe. Being of a low-gravity world, they are sluggish in a nornal gravity environment, and so have to wear space suits to be able to operate on the other worlds (and ships) of the Collective.

Members of Nhailo's race have the inherrant ability to manipulate the earth and stone under their feet with long, strong roots, and, once accostomed to their suits, can be quite swift.
  6. Well, if we're still working out origins here, how about this for one:

The characters were part of a small Galactic Union that was, unfortunatly, contained entirely within one solar system, but on many worlds. Theri combined scientists knew that their sun was going to go nova within a fairly short period of years (Somewhere within 100-200 years), and as such comissioned the construction of large colony ships. The first one, the Haven Novae, was constructed and launched mere weeks before the second ship, but only a few days before a rather uncareing race decided to use their star as a test for their latest super-weapon, causing a premature supanova event.

The Haven Novae, it's passengers and crew blissfully unaware of the complete ahnialation of their respective races while in suspended animation, got hit by the wake of the dieing star, and was flung thousands of light-years off on a different heading. Misfortune followed, however, as the wake caused more internal damage than external, and several of the stasis tubes malfunctioned or broke down. Once the tubes opened after the ship encountered the first habitable world in it's path (Earth), and the team thinking that they were the only remaining survivors of their ship, they shuttle/drop pod/teleport down to the surface, leaving the Haven Novae in orbit.

    *****

So, that good enough? Gives us a common ground starting point, a reason to start off scattered around for if everyone went down to scout out different areas, and the potential for other survivors, both helpful and hostile from the Haven Novae, to follow later. And it still leaves us as the only survivors 8D
  7. I'm cool with it, but do we have a starting point yet?
  8. Hmmm. If i'm very lucky, and finish work early eniugh, I can just about squeeze 7 start, but 7:30 - 8.00 is easier for me. I have yet to write a full bio, but the basics are that Nhailo is a plant-based humanoid life form, and she's a stone/stone tanker
  9. I've knocked together one now. A stone tanker called Nhailo
  10. I can do both Mondays and Tuesdays. Now, for a starting area, probably some landmark in either Atlas or Galaxy (GG, Atlas Bank, or somesuch). I was thinking either a machine or fantasy-esque style character with up-to-date gizmos and stuff...
  11. I might well be interested. Depends on what day, because I already RP on Wednesdays
  12. Oh my word! What will all those redundant superheroes do now? Fight crime, vigilante style? Go over to the dark side? Have way more Up 'N Away burgers than is healthy? The mind boggles!
  13. If you're after a name that encompases all of Union without being plan, how about calling it something like Union United ? I know it's a little cheesy, but it gets the job done.

And I'd like to put in my character's info too. Although not a big social RP'er, most people have seen (or heard of) one of my guys lurking around

    IC rumours

((The following is an extract from the Rogues Isles Protector, 15/7/07))

    Super-Hero Goes Bad!

It has been revealed last night that Eric Mitchel, CEO if Sentinel Industries, and the costumed crime-fighter known as Britanic, has handed in the cape and started a life of crime. Pictures have been obtained of Mr Mitchel breaking through the vault door of Atlas Park bank, as well as dragging an unconcious hero known as Flamberge outside. He has already put a number of Paragon ity's finest into hospital, and even came close to killing the hero No-Mind. Nothing is knows as to why the former hero has gone bad, but rumours are circulating that it's got something to do with his reclusive fiancee, Suzi White, instigator of the "Heroes for People" movement. This newspaper will be following up all leads in order to bring you only the best news on this developing subject

((Following the article are several pictures of someone who looks strikingly familiar to Brit, only wearing a colonial-style red military coat, and dark glasses))

((Oh, and thanks go to Brit for giving me the ok with this character! 8D ))
  15. On a side note, we will need someone to actually perform the ceramony. So, if anyone has a spare Union slot, and don't mind using it for one day, them please let us know if you can help!
  16. Small cards have been left with the various barkeeps in Pocket D to hand out to specific people. They read:

You are cordially invited to the reception of Marina DeSousa and Carl Wilson on Monday at 9pm We hope to see you there for a great party!

((This is an open invitation to the receptiopn of High Burn and GoodGuy's wedding, to be held this coming Monday in PD. Anyone who knows them is welcome to attend. The wedding itsself, however, will be heroes only, as it will be in City Hall at about 8:30pm. Hope to see you all there!))
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Do you imagine the City Hall in Atlas park blown away by a Rikti Mothership?? Like the White House in Independence Day. It would be, in a way, cool.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I severely doubt that City Hall will be obliterated. It would make it way too hard for new players to start up, as they would have to go to Galaxy City. And if that got his too...?

I think that battle damage to systems and infrastructure will likley be kept to a minimum. However, I too would like to see a few more ambulances scattered around, and paramedics picking people up. Again, in my pessamistic mind, I find it unlikley to happen, doe to the supposed "blanking of the RP crowd" that people have commented on in the past
  18. Well. As far as I can tell, most people will fight, and a few will flee. But now, I ask myself, what will the Un-Hero do? After all, he mostly just hangs around in Pocket D, and isn't really into all that "fighting evil" milarkey...
  19. Watchmen stand united? Pull the other one Aero! Chances are that High Burn will run and hide! After all, dealing with street punks, even cybernetically encanced street punks is one thing, but aliens with energy weapons and scary psyonic powers? She barely held it together the last time the Watchmen took on some Rikti...

Dr Mechanibus, however, will definatly step up. Just imagine all the great scientific achievements he could make with looted Rikti gear! Plasma-destrukto tanks, here I come!
  20. Well, we started, but didn't get far. Two missions in, and we've had to delay it (again) I'm starting to wonder if it would have been better to try on a Sunday or something...
  21. Ok, I have compleated a dummy run today for my new workplace. At currant, travel time will be a whopping 2 hours! That, coupled with store closing times and bus timetables, means that after next week, I will be severely unlikley to be on before 9PM.

Just thaught you would like to know
  22. Most background bio sharing takes place in game, usually in the form of a conversation about a particular character's past. Occasionally, they will put up something online in the form of a short story or somesuch, but rarely
  23. Hmmmm. I may be persuaded to enter, all depends on what the grey matter can dredge up...
  24. ((Written as if in a rush))

    To all Watchmen!

You all have been super great to me since I joined you lot, and I've learned so much about super-powered life in paragon, as have we all, really. So, I'm super excited as I write this (you can probably tell!), because I'm taking another turn on the great road of life. Carl and I, we're getting married. Don't really have a date yet, but it won't be too far away, I think!

And when it does happen, you're all invited - and that includes Johnny. So long as we got a more portable tank to keep him in at the time...

Must run! Going window shopping for an outfit! I'm sooooo excited!!

    Marina <3

--Yes, GoodGuy and myself are having our characters wedded and, although there is not a set time or anything yet, anyone and everyone are welcome to attend. Heck, if it takes place in Pocket D, even some of the villainous crew can attend! (Dr Mechano, Chim, I'm looking at you )
