  1. This debate is educational to follow (if you can muster the energy to read the prodigious amount of text ) but has really derailed from Crimson Archers topic.

The differences of the genders/sexes have nothing to do with homosexual superheroes/villains in this game. Really.

And since you clearly have conflicting views of WHY there's a difference between the genders/sexes there's really no point in venting it any further. You can't change each others oppinions here. Okay?

Personally I'm a heterosexual man (I've tried to swing in the other direction in my youth, but it wasn't for me) who like beer, violent movies, scantily clad women and various sports. Have I become like this because of biology or upbringing? I don't know and I really don't care. I like being me.
Do I think that women are of less worth than men? No chance in Hell! Men and women are of equal worth (regardless of sexual orientation, religion etc...) and should be treated/paid/etc on equal terms. But we are fundamentally different.

Now I will leave this topic, reach into the unused-alt-storage, and start to play with my homosexual toon Dr. Discharge again.
  2. I've posted a summary (of the Loose Ends story) on the watcmen forum.
All are welcome to read it, but it's mainly directed towards Gorbaz, Gazura and Romanov.
  3. Hey, come on now.
There are no drug-barons left okay.
No drugs at all but the superadine.

    How do I know?

Because Back Alley Brawler say so!
Would you call him a lier?

His pal Blue Steel and the rest of the Regulators can vouch for it! They were there as well.

So you see... It must be true!

I do like the idea of Coalition chat being used as a sort of makeshift communications, especially if all of a sudden, the other end goes dead and all you could hear was static.....

    "They cut the power."
"What do you mean "THEY cut the power"? How could they cut the power, man? They're animals!"

    Couldn't resist.

You think Heroes for People was a riot? I lost actual friends during the Requiem War plot due to things going on away from the forums.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Really? Geez! Sounds like intense (and derailed) RP indeed.
"Heroes for People" weren't that bad, no. It looked like it was about to derail at some point, but I guess that the "survivors" of the Requiem-plot stopped it time. (At least that's what I think concerning some of the OOC comments that arose during the HfP-plot)
  6. Like the "Heroes for People" riot?
  7. I asked myself this very question just 30 minutes ago!
How will the heroes react to this?

No more chatting in Pocket D or under Galaxy Girl's skirt for a while, that's for sure.

And the killing that's certain to follow?
Well some heroes would have NO problem with it, but many heroes would.

One of my alts is a pure Empathy defender (well got ONE attack from the psionic pool ofcourse ) and would NEVER kill another living creature. Not even a Rikti.

GoodGuy pulls his punches to make sure that he wont kill another human being, since he's been brought up with the knowledge that he's extremely strong and might kill if he hit too hard.
But he has lost his temper before and killed someone. So this invasion and following war will change his outlook on life and rock his foundations pretty bad.
He will become "darker" and more resolute. Not as naïve as before. (and will probably wear a new costume as well )
  8. Blast and damnation!

    I can't join tonight!

I've looked forward to it but there you go.
You go ahead and do the TF without me, but if there's a lack of participants, I must admit that I wont feel sorry about it.

    Catch you later pals!
  9. ((I doubt that Superman exist as a comic in CoX (because of the trademark laws) and personally I doubt that there's even comicbooks about superheroes since they figure frequently in the news and tabloids (much as our celebrities. I mean... how cool would it be to subscribe to the comics "Steven Gerrard" or "Keanu Reeves" for example.)

The comicbook The Watchmen show this pretty neat I think. In there, supers are present so the comics (or at least the comic that's part of the story) are about pirates.

Now I'm not trying to "god-mod" you into anything. If you think that a Superman comic is needed in your playing experience, then by all means! I wont stop you!

But if you interact with my characters and bring up said hero, they wouldn't know who you talked about.))
  10. ((TLF are villains and this new one is a hero (?) group.))

((I was refering to the website. But then again... It's his website, he can do what he want there as far as I'm concerned.
Still no Superman in CoX universe though. ))
  12. ((Looks okay for a start but... skip the "Superman" reference right? He doesn't exist in CoX and would be a break of the EULA if you tried to incorporate him. Use "Statesman" instead. Same character-type anyway.
Other that that... keep it up!))

    IC rumours

”You know that big fella that nearly wasted Sternum’s entire clan a couple of months ago?”

    “Yeah, that Goody Two-shoes. So?”

“I saw him and that green rad-girl of his last night near Wentworth’s. And guess what?”

    “What?”

“He went down on one knee and handed her a ring the size of a friggin’ egg!”

    “Really? Geez!”

“Yeah I know! Shall we pop her next time we see her and nick it?”

“Damn straight! We’ll be rich fer sure!”

heh i like it...mind if i yoink that idea?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not at all! It's officially yours!

And here you can get a quick-start in fake Russian.
  15. I'd do him as a science-origin, broadsword/invulnerability scrapper.

The Cossacks have been the Russians' elite troops since time immemorial. Therefore, as the age of meta-humans began, the Russians started to develope methods to "produce" a steady supply of "right-minded" heroes.
The Iron Cossacks was one of those projects.

The best and toughest Cossacks were exposed to various radiations and chemicals to enhance their fighting skills and tenacity, producing a military force of nigh indestructible warriors.
Or rather, that was the plan.

Before the "production" of these super-soldiers could start on a larger scale, something happened that put the project to a halt.
    Glasnost and Perestroika.

The project was "moth-bagged" and forgotten. And soon the equipment was sold to a European company that was setting up shop in the US.
Amongst the equipment that was sold, was a stasis chamber containing the only human test-subject undergoing the procedure. No one had noticed or remembered him until he awoke upon his arrival in Paragon City.

He took the name Iron Cossack after the project that created him and started to do what he was created to do.
Punish the enemies of the state.

Something like that. Just a quick write-up. Do with it what you will.

And the "powered by vodka" thing. That's just what he say to be cooler.
  16. It's a matter of preference I think.

Personally, I'd go with the Cossack and scrap the Clockette.

    But that's me.
  17. If you look up Cossack on Wikipedia, you get a fairly good picture of them. With details of their uniforms and colours as well!

And a SS tanker or Broadsword scrapper would be my choice.
  18. Well Dr. Furnace isn't lvl 20 yet, but if you want some help GoodGuy from PCP can attend.
  19. Hi there fellow Watchmen!

I can't be on tonight. It grieves me to miss the "costume and cape" ceremony but I just can't play tonight.

Please post a picture of the costume so that I can get an accurately cut suit myself asap. (Please remember that I've "booked" the brightest yellow to be my personal colour)

    Happy hunting!

PS. Dr. Furnace will probably be on for the double exp weekend. He has some levels to catch up.
  20. Desirée Bell (aka Lady Cacophony), the vocalist of The Last Word, made a soundcheck in Pocket D this morning.

Everything seemed to be alright for the main event on thursday.

im changing my Bio to "RP elitist: if im ignoring you, you just aint good enough"

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Hahahaha! Sweet!
I guess I'll have to see if Big Lunk will talk to me in the future then.
  22. I appologize my friend, for not remembering this!
It was you who got me into RP-ing in this game after all.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
theres a strange fad that someone pointed out to me recently.
theres a lot more people with "rp friendly" in there bio (usualy these people will try not to break immersion while teaming with a group of RPers, and on occasion actualy try to RP)
But theres also a lot of people that claim to be RPers, that speak in "txt spk" god mode, and generaly make an [censored] of themselves.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I must admit that my alt GoodGuy is one of these "RP-friendly" characters.
I saw it in the info of someone (can't remember who) and thought it was a good idea since I don't RP constantly with GoodGuy. I DO RP with him in RP-areas like Pocket D and amongst other RPers (like the Hyperion Watchmen, where I've had a really good RP-session with him). But when I just "play the game" and team up with the "regular players" he's not IC.

I've got two other alts that's constantly IC though.
Dr. Furnace of the Hyperion Watchmen and Lady Cacophony of the Last Word (who have a gig in Pocket D this Thursday btw! Look out for the review!) And their info is marked with "Roleplayer".

    [ QUOTE ]
Couldn't agree more. When I'm RPing, I'm there to enjoy myself, not get frustrated trying to teach some bonehead the ropes. They can either learn by observation (like I did), or go on ignore permanently.

    [/ QUOTE ]
My thoughts exactly. It took me some time to use the </e> command in a good way, but there are no better teachers than trial and error.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
    - Create a Timed Event. Enter a Stalker. Waste their time by hiding. They'll get bored eventually. Alternatively, challenge them to an event, go in, exit as soon as possible and return to your seat mocking them for their idiocy when they return.
    - Set the match to "No Observers" and lie profusely about your defeat, they'll eventually leave.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Hahaha! Those two tips are brilliant! I'm going to try them as soon as possible.

    BTW! I like your attitude.
  25. I've only roleplayed in CoX since this march, since I got caught up in it via Britanic (<edit> GoodGuy is a member of Britanic's SG. I'm the lowlevel one here!) and the Hyperion Watchmen. Nothing planned, just at the spur of the moment. I hadn't really thought about roleplaying this lovelly game. And now I'm stuck at it (my alts pay a high lvl price for it!)
I can't say whether RPing in Cox have changed or not, but I've noticed the same attitude as Big_Lunk and the rest of you have.
Some people try their hardest to spoil the RP experience of others.

Sadly it's something we must learn to live with. In RL I've met the same attitude. I've been roleplaying since I was 9 (I'm 34 today) and I still meet people that think I'm crazy, childish, nerdy or just plain stupid for roleplaying and would go out of their way to point it out to me and "correct my erroneous ways".

    C'est la vie!

(/petition "Please create a pure RP server, where people NOT RPing will be banished!")
