ComicCon is this weekend or close, right?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Right now, through Sunday.
  2. Okay, that was faster than I expected!

Will I get into this one? Will I be skipped over like I was for Issue 14's closed beta? Only time will tell!
  3. Since it looks like we're all playing ...

    [/ QUOTE ]
"Well ... looks like you owe somebody twenty bucks, now don't you?"
  4. While we already *do* have off-world content, I'd be totally fine with the devs creating some one-shot stuff, like the aforementioned Egyptian-themed encounter. Or some singular historical events added to Ouroboros, like a giant Atlas fighting off jetpack-using 5th Column in Independence Port or Brass Monday.

Hell, just some custom maps and/or enemy groups not used elsewhere added to the MA would also work!
  5. [ QUOTE ]

It looks like the following are also missing (with helpful links to Mantid's guide):

    Hmmm

    Welcome

And, as seen above, /em flashlightup and /em flashlightdown are missing. (Just clarifying Goliath, since it looks like /em flashlight is actually a synonym for flashlightdown.)

    Other issues:

"Plot" should probably be renamed to "Scheme," as it performs /em scheme. There's technically nothing wrong with this, as /em plot is a synonym, however, as seen in the URL above, /em hmmm is a synonym for /em plotting. Seems like it would be a good idea to just side-step the potential (and existing ) confusion, and also name /em plotting "Hmmm..." on the menu.

Similarly, "Welcome" should be renamed to "You're Welcome" as that's the actual emote it performs, and in order to allow for the above missing "Welcome" emote to be added without conflict.

"Taunt" should be split into "Taunt 1" and "Taunt 2"

"Thumbsup" needs a space or a hyphen.

"GetSome" needs a space in there.

"SlashThroat" and "Handsup" also need spaces.

"stun" and "fear" need to be capitalized.

Technically, does the Tracklist need to feature the "bb" prefix on all of the different songs?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ugh ... this is why I shouldn't test stuff under the influence of pain medication. >.<

I could've sworn I saw "Hmmm" as an option on the new list, and I thought that the "Welcome" on the list was the "Welcome" emote, and not just the "Yes/thumbsup" emote as it had previously been. Is it too hard to make sure the emote listings match up with the commands?

You're also right about the flashlight emotes; I'd taken the time to label them appropriately on my edited quickchat and again foolishly thought that maybe whoever reworked the default list had done the same.

As for everything else ... you're still right. I'm going to bed now, seeing as I've been thoroughly sussed. Devs, listen to this person; they actually know what they're talking about, as opposed to me.
  6. Okay, just went through the list.

So far, I see /em flashlight and /em flashlightdown missing from the emote list. Those, however, are the only omissions aside from unlockables and booster-specific emotes that I've found. I'll check again to be sure.
  7. I do believe all the emotes (sans unlockables and booster-specific) are indeed now on the quickchat menu, which is very well organized to boot! I'm gonna double-check against my custom quickchat which I know for a fact contains all the emotes, but going solely by appearance I think everything's there.
  8. So ... guess I'll wait for the patch notes so I'll actually know what to test.

    *whistles*
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Suddenly I have 8 arc slots, and only one of my arcs is DC. I don't remember 'buying' any extra slots even on Test. Anyone else want to check how many slots they have?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I only have three.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
hmm we have him beaten to almost 50% but he keeps getting better! There must be a way to beat him. Is it just brute force?

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you have a Mastermind on the team, make sure they use their temp power. It'll stop Reichsman from using his "Unbreakable" power, which makes him invulnerable to most attacks and jacks his regen up 500% for a little bit -- not too long, but long enough for him to regain a good chunk of his 226,000 HP.
  11. Not a color change, but first thing, my SS/Inv Brute is gonna get the animation for Punch changed to something that remotely resembles an actual punch.
  12. See, now this is a good use for Twitter. About time y'all started using it for events and updates.
  13. Just adding my name to those affected by this. In a moment of shortsightedness, it never dawned on me that they might remove the salvage from the game, thereby screwing things up.
  14. [ QUOTE ]

That isn't an incorrect statement to make ... but I think the biggest telling factor will be the lack of heal. Using a totally resist based set (even with IO help to defense) will make it very difficult to pull off Aid Self when you really need it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, I use Aid Self all the time on my EM/Elec Brute. Well, not literally all the time; just when I need to heal, which is probably no more often than any other Brute. And I even do it during combat thanks to 2 Interrupt reducers slotted into AS. Usually, the only times when I'm interrupted are during DoT attacks, but that's a universal problem.

    [ QUOTE ]
Small group and solo stuff shouldn't be a worry, but I can only imagine an Elec/* Tanker trying to do an ITF speed run or STF (or Reichsmann for that matter). Frustration comes to mind.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In situations where you need a well-slotted Invuln or a Granite, no -- Electric Armor won't fare well in those. As I said elsewhere, this - like Fire Armor - is an offensive-minded defense set, and will likely work out better for Scrappers than for Tankers. That's not to say it's rubbish, though. We just don't yet know the set's limits in a pure "tanking" sense.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
I'm going to be testing this set when I get inot closed beta because I fear it'll be a big disappointment.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    A bit confident, are we?

I'm curious as to the effect that the lessened amount of -Res hero-side will have on the set's overall survivability, not to mention the increase in Res amounts due to being ported to the Tanker AT. On a Brute, you're getting holes knocked through your armor all the time thanks to Longbow and Arachnos. Aside from the few enemy groups heroes can fight that deal sonic damage (are there even any?) and toxic damage, an Electric Armor user is going to have their defenses tested much less than villains who use the set. In my humble, yet-unable-to run-actual-playtests opinion.

    [ QUOTE ]
So, one of you numbers people:

If Elec is ported to Tankers as is, what are we looking at in terms of resistance numbers?

    [/ QUOTE ]

55% about to Sm, Le, Fire, Cold, Psi
    90% to Energy
    About 47% to Negative.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Basically Fire Tanker levels.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Without the self heal, assuming nothing gets changed. So it's still a more offensive-minded defense set. Luckily, -Res isn't as common in the high-level hero side of things as it is on the villain side.

I elect that we call Electric Melee, Sparkle Puffy Bunnies instead.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The motion is seconded, do we have a third?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sorry, I've always been in the "Elec" camp as far as abbreviations go.

And speaking of, I am more interested in Electric Melee for Tankers than I am Electric Armor. Unless they don't screw with the Res numbers when proliferating, in which case I just might have to give it a whirl. The set relies solely on Resistance, but if said Resistance is dang high, it might be worth it.

Just as long as I can make Punch look like an actual punch and not a weapon attack animation with the weapon removed, I'll be happy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I always thought Super Strength was around before the weapons. I must be wrong.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Punch uses the same animation that certain powers in Mace, Axe, and Broadsword use. Only difference is that you're not holding a weapon, so it instead looks like this awkward, one-handed smash.

$20 says the new animations for MA are simply a mixed bag of copy/pasted melee sets.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yeah, and?

It's far more easier and resource-efficient to C&P, adjusting animation times and hit effects as needed, than to try and come up with completely new animations. Especially when there are only so many ways you can punch or kick someone.

At first, I was happy to hear about Brutes getting claws (aside from all the awesome customization stuff), but then it dawned on me that Tankers are gonna be getting Electric Melee. I'm now very happy.

  23. [ QUOTE ]
If only it had been fixed before the patch that was pushed yesterday went Live. It wasn't like SOME OF US didn't /bug it while it was still on test. One day of delay on yesterday's patch would have saved everyone from 2 mornings of down time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm feeling too lazy to dig up the post, but either BABs or Castle said that this bug was tricky because it couldn't be reproduced in-house with the build they were testing with. Somehow, something in this one particular build caused the bug to trigger, and stopped triggering when they updated their internal builds. So you have a bug that can't be reproduced by QA or programmers, and which is build-specific. Maybe, just maybe, that's why it took them some time to get it sorted out?
