I'm glad to see others have issues with Mercs. I was playing my 42nd last night and realized just how much I'm not having fun. The sad thing is that I don't think it would take much to make them fun and the suggestions here mirror my own thoughts.

I guess I didn't make it clear in the initial post that it was a screenprint. One of our coalition groups called out for a tank on the LGTF. I answered the call and I'm glad I did. My friend ChaoticSunder took the pic. Mine never turn out that good. The cool thing is that this is the original, no retouch at all.

This pic just struck me as something that should be shared.

I have one mastermind that will go rogue and probably stay there since he's one of my few solo characters and when asked to PUG I'd like to have more than 1 option.

I'll also be making my first corruptor as a praetorian and probably take him blue-side.

None of my heroes will make the transition to vigilante and none of my villains are going all the way to hero.

Make what you will of all that.

Two scrappers with APP's, both are SR secondary.

Camilla, my Katana, took weapon mastery to get caltrops & shuriken for concept reasons but I can see her grabbing targeting drone later for the extra accuracy. Besides, a ranged attack to kill those sliver-of-health runners is nice.

Fencer, my Dual Blades, took Body Mastery for Conserve Power and Focused Accuracy. What a difference! And once I took Physical Perfection I stopped needing Conserve Power except in hyper-active, high-difficulty PUGs. I can highly recommended it for any scrapper that has severe endurance problems in high-stress situations. The only downside was I didn't have room for the ranged attack (and didn't want laser eyes on my "natural" Zoro tribute character) but hey, I'm SR with Swift and Fly... I AM a ranged attack.

Teams that won't stay together. What's so hard about the concept of picking a leader and following him/her?

Sometimes a pug is like trying to herd cats and invariably the worst offenders are off getting killed and blaming the leader, the "healer" or the alignment of the star's but never themselves.

Roberto - I have to say I've been guilty of that. Mainly because I wasn't sure everyone was with me or someone's green/blue bar was very low and I was afraid they might be resting or any of a number of things. I've gotten better now about charging on unless someone specifically calls out for a knee or buff or they look mostly dead and might need a few seconds to recover.

I'm thinking Traps or Rad. Not that I know anything about either one but that's half the fun.

I realize this is more of an arts forum but I can't resist showing off some of my friend's great action shots. These are all from one epic night of supergroup madness. Some are meh and some are fantastic but I think all of them show a great eye for what makes a good scene.

I definitely notice the difference when I set my "Looking for Any" flag. When I'm not in the mood to run solo and my friends are awol, I'll turn it on and run a quick radio/newspaper. I usually get a nice tell asking if I want to run <insert random activity> by the time I'm about half finished. True that sometimes happens even when I don't set it but not nearly as often.

I highly recommend it.

Oooo I didn't know there were two hidden areas in Nerva. Time to go on the hunt again!

I will get Energy Cloak soon. I was thinking I wanted to get it as close as possible with Weave so the two can stack together asap. I guess I was also thinking of Cloak of Darkness on my tanker being more useful in the later game but I can see the fatal flaw in that logic now in the light of day.

The team is only 32nd so I can't do the Vanguard thing yet but that is certainly something to consider later. Thanks for that pointer DrMike.

Perez Park has some really interesting park-like areas hidden under the canopy.

Faultline has the Arachnos dig near the base (the one Agent G sends you into for 3 of his missions).

Striga has the Wolf's Throat.

Dark Astoria has something similar in the graveyard although I haven't explored it much beyond grabbing the exploration badge.

I can't think of any others that aren't just short tunnels (like the parking garage in Port Oakes and Faultline or the under-street waterways in Founder's Falls and St Martial).

So only available during level-up. Ok, that's fine, I'm ready to level up at the moment. I'll take a look. Thanks.

Hey, my Warhammer/EA brute (yes he IS pretty and strong ) has hit 32. He's teamed with my wife's corruptor and we usually sweep everything in front of us easily with her dark powers and my smash however... We've been fighting a lot of carnies lately and the Ring Mistresses are extremely risky for me to engage. They drain both my endurance and health at alarming rates.

I've been avoiding Energy Cloak but now I'm finally looking at it since the defense for it is general (or seems to be). I certainly don't want the stealth but is it a decent defense buff? Does anyone know the numbers on it? I'm still a power-pick away from Weave but then I don't know the numbers on that either.

I think even a little bit will help when combined with my wife's to-hit debuff.

Also... how do I get the numbers for a power before I get it? That's one thing that has always bugged me. If I could do that then I wouldn't have to ask dumb questions like this.

It would be nice to have a medium ranged attack on a stalker. Something to kill runners with. The ninja set just screams for a shuriken for example. Scrappers can get one either through their main (claws) or APP, stalkers should too IMO.
