There's something I don't think I've seen any mention of - will the new ultra mode graphics be used on mission maps and other indoor areas too, or are they just for the zones?
Like will they be in, for example, the warehouse maps, as well as the non-instanced indoor places like City Hall, the AE buildings, stores and Vanguard buildings?
And if they're not used on indoor misison maps, would they still be used on outdoor ones, like the Safeguard/Mayhem maps, and places like the Hydra dimension and Werewolf world? -
Skipping and whistling needs to a PvP zone travel power

Not sure if this is related to the Walk power or not - but some of the fire effects of Super Speed seem to be missing, especially when you're standing still.

Quote:I'm pretty sure the GR storyline will be almost totally Nemesis-free - but I also think his Praetorian version will be mentioned in at least one bit of story text - just to add flavor, like we're coming from a world where he's a big problem, so it'd be funny to see his Praetorian self mentioned only in passing, and as a normal personTo be totally honest, I hope to have one major story update without having Nemesis smeared all over it. Please.

Just checked out something with the water - if you walk into water with Walk turned on, you keep walking through the water - but if you start walking when you're already in the water, you do the swim animation, but at the Walk speed.

Quote:If they keep the current Praetorian set up, then it seems that all the superpowered people under Tyrant are fighing and betraying each other to gain more power and influence - like Neuron and Anti-Matter - and they seem pretty independent too - like Shadowhunter doesn't really seem to serve Tyrant very much - he's just running wild in the forest with his wolves. Not really. Because when you hit 50 you WILL have given LR his hat and say to him thanks but from now on, I do not consider you to be a person that van give me orders. Now if you ask nicely and pay handsomely you can hire me. And no I will not attempt to take over your spot yet.
With Cole I doubt this will work out. He got a vision and he is ruthlessly enforcing his ideas of Utopia's. So he expects his hired flunkies to jump when he twitches his little pinky. Most high level villains will not bow to anybody anymore. Including self styled Emperors. So they end up as being enemies to the system.
Some will join the resistance but a lot will consider that a folly and check out how to improve themselves.
So I think it's posisble for a villain to see Praetoria as an opportunity to rise very high, but still be their own boss, and with the longterm view of maybe taking Tyrant's place. -
The devs have said something along the liune of "the Praetorian Nemesis died as a happy old man" - so there is no Praetorian Nemesis now.
But as our Nemesis seems to like to get involved in as many dimensions as possible, I'm pretty sure he'll try something - we might even run into Nemesis scouts who've been sent to Praetoria to check it out. -
They've said Praetoria isn't totally a mirror world - so not every villain in our dimension followed the same path in Praetoria.

That looks more like a 5th Column style walk

Quote:So, if one or more of the animation team happen to get a little free work time by possibly completing their scheduled work early, what would you suggest they spend that free work time on?Wow, I know a lot of people have been asking for a walk function and will be pleased as punch to see it in here. I'm not one of them. What's next to waste time on? A big red ball?
Remember, they do animation - they don't have anything to do with bug fixes, server issues, costume parts, mission design, map creation or finding a way to make Jay less sexy - they do animation.
So maybe they look at a list of low priority/unscheduled requests involving animation, and decide to use this free work time to add the most popular one that's been requested by lots of players for ages? -

Quote:I think it's just as much about feeling good as looking sexy - it's a sort of "I'm on top the world" walk - the sort of walk you'd do a lot if you had superpowersWhy can't the female one say the same thing as the male one? I play a variety of female characters, and I think one, maybe two of them would use their looks to get what they want.
Why are female characters assumed to be about sex, and males about power?
Sure, you walk differently when you're talking to someone, or thinking about something, or have anything else to distract you - but when you're feeling great, and just going from A to B, then you do walk more like this

Quote:I'm only going to get a pair of cards that can run all the features - I don't want almost-ultra modeI read about the time of the HeroCon news that the 4xxx ATI series cards would run Ultra mode with just a couple of the features not running. I can't be any more specific than that and I cant find the direct quote at the moment.

Quote:Perhaps you should be addressing that to the dev (Sunstorm?) who looks after bases, rather than BAB, the dev you takes care of animationsI normally don't question changes made. But really what practical application does walking have? We can't use powers while walking. Why, why, why is this important? I know many players would have rather used this time for base improvements.

I don't think walking would have been a priority for the animation team, but if they finished their priority animation work ahead of schedule, that would give them time to work on lower priority stuff - like a walk power.
Or they might even have a bit of time set aside for low priority stuff - either way, they have absolutely nothing to do with bug fixes or bases. -

This will also make in-game weddings more dignified - a dash to the altar won't have to be a genuine dash anymore

Quote:Don't say that out loud, or Dr. Aeon or Recluse might get mad at youI'm a little weirded out by one part of my reaction to this:
Watching my various characters walk around Aeon City, walk around Pocket D, walk around inside Aeon University, walk around the docks ... I was deeply startled by how much more powerful they looked, how much more confident they looked. Like they owned the place, you know?
But yeah, the walking does make us seem more connected to the scenery - I think it might be partly because it slows us down to the speed of the NPCs, who are sort of zone furniture, so it makes us seem more in sync with the zone. -
It's ok, I'm not thirsty - I'm already full up on the milk of human kindness
-
Well, you could also say you're treading water - but that's not really what they mean by treading
-
The idle pose is the same as the normal idle pose - you can't tell that Walk is on.
