Quote:Arachnos is an organization that supports and promotes violence and crime against Paragon City - it doesn't really matter that they call themselves the "governemnt" of the Rogue Isles or notLongbow? Pretty sure I've seen them on foriegn soil, shooting at citizens of that country who are trying to have a private conversation with a government official.
Namely: The Arbiters in Nerva.

No one has said anything officially - or unofficially
My first post here was just a personal opinion/feeling. -

Quote:I'm not sure - while it certainly is griefing, the GMs here seem to follow the policy of what happens in the SG stays in the SG - like people who join SGs and then strip the storage racks - the rule appears to be that if you invite and promote someone to your SG, you're responsible for anything they do in the SG.After reading that post about BoB.... if that happened in CoH between two SGs, wouldn't that be considered a form of griefing? To get an "ear" on the inside of a rival SG, convince that "ear" to demote everyone else (this would be before Super Leaders) and then kick them all out of the SG, inviting members of the "opposite" faction in and essentially taking over.
Wouldn't that be considered griefing here?
So if you invited someone into your SG, and they did that demoting, kicking and inviting thing, I think they'd get away with it. -
Quote:It will help quite a bit - any new screenshots will be in ultra mode, along with any gameplay footage - so the pictures on the box will look sharper, and so will any images and videos on various MMO news sites.I don't doubt that GR will increase our playerbase, even if only by a small amount. Not only are we getting new stuff and content, but the graphical update should appease people who think that CoH sucks because it's old or CO has better graphics.
Plus, I think the fact that there's an expansion coming out gives the game a good vibe - it's 5 years old, and still putting out new stuff, and still being invested in. -
Quote:I've not heard any reports of them repressing peopleWhy do you never mention Ms Liberty and HER thugs (Longbow) or Manticore and HIS thugs (Wyvern)? There's enough shady stuff going on in Primal Earth on the 'good' side to balance ANYTHING Emperor Cole is doing in Praetoria

-
What about loyalty to the ideals of freedom and justice?

Quote:According to the GR info we have so far, if you make a new avatar and start out in Praetoria, you can choose to help the Resistance, or Tyrant and his thugs, which will push you towards being good or evil.I must be seriously behind on some info here. I thought this Loyalist/Resistance thing was a game you were all playing on the forums. I didn't know that these would be actual factions that you have to choose from.
As for higher levels who change sides, like 50s, we don't know for sure yet what kind of interaction they'll have with the good vs evil battle in Praetoria. -
Quote:White would be more heroic, and closer to my normal outfit - but black might blend in better - and be useful for night spying
-
But I don't think that's what Praetoria is like - the superpowered people either serve Tyrant, or disappear - so I think there will be very few capes and spandex outfits there - just lots of normal NPCs, Clockwork and Praetorian Police.
-
Well, assuming they price it at $40, if two thirds of the playebase buys GR, that'll make them about 4 million bucks - and then there's the sales from first time players, who'd buy it and the main game.
-
I like the idea of being a spy - I'd make a special costume for that - better not to run around in spandex and a cape if you're trying to be un-noticed
-
A mall would be cool, with all the origin stores in one place, and maybe a WW and Icon attached too, and a Vault - put it in Steel Canyon, and use lots of glass and shininess for the new graphics

There'll probably have to be Resistance safe houses of some sort in each zone, because there'll need to be trainers and places to sell your stuff too.
There might be a main Resistance base, that's like the Vanguard one, with several signature Resistance NPCs in it, and then other smaller bases in the other zones. -
I don't think the Praetorain Police would just leave suspected rebels in the street
-
Resistance safe houses using stolen medical tp tech, and normal hospitals for Tyrant's goons is the way they'll do it, I think.
EDIT: There might still be some maps where we have to break out of a Praetorian prison, like we do on some Council and Thorn maps now. -

Is this now like the largest thread for the smallest patch notes?
-
So with roughly 5,000 sales per quarter being the lowest level, Q2 2010 should see a very big upswing - but Q1 2010 might not show much change, as there doesn't seem to be an Issue planned for release during or near to it.
-
It'd be good if they had the RV style transforming scenery to show the damage the GMs were doing to a zone.If they started fires too, that could be part of a combined zone event and GM spawn, along with rescuing NPCs from the fires and from under rubble.
-
Another cool thing would be dynamic zone mob crimes - enemies would only be targetable if they were actually doing something wrong - so 2 Hellions sitting on a wall wouldn't be targetable, but 2 trying to steal a purse would be.
Crimes would also have a lead up and follow-up - so they wouldn't just spawn on a spot, they'd actually go there, do the crime, then escape - for example, instead of 3 Skulls just appearing at a garage door and doing the break-in emotes, 3 Skulls would come out of a random building door, and head towards the crime spot - and they'd be untargetable at this stage.
Once they got to the crime spot, they'd begin the break in, and become targetable - and instead of despawning after a certain time, they'd head back to the door they spawned at, as they made their getaway, still targetable.
The same system would be used for muggings too.
Also, when mobs were moving towards a crime spot, they'd stop if any hero got within, say, 200 yards of them, as they'd be aware they were being watched or followed - but if you kept more than 200 yards from them, you could still follow them until they came to the crime spot and became targetable.
