Quote:A lot of that would end up like First Ward, with a heavy bias towards Heros/Resistance - the closer Praetorian content gets to 50, the more it has to sync with the Incarnate storyline, where everyone's helping the Resistance.4: Praetorian content on Primal Earth (Primal-fled Resistance trying to take action on an ex-Loyalist, possibly suspecting espionage, Loyalists tracking down Crusader Resistance members for heinous crimes they committed, persecution from Primal residents, a Praetorian-on-Primal subculture, or even Primals wanting to go to Praetoria, thinking it a 'better way'.)

Ragequit threads mostly seem to appear at the weekend, for some weird reason
-
I think this is the first ragequit post for CoH: Freedom - and considering it's only 2 days from launch, that's pretty good going - I was expecting way more nerdrage from the whole hybrid payment model too

Quote:You mean the story where Tyrant made sure he had a room full of people to witness just how much he cares about avoiding civilian deaths? Tyrant is always very keen to present the right image to peopleYou mention the story involving Durray, GG... in which Cole is angry with Durray for causing the deaths of civilians... which implies that he only plans to target military personell (at least for now).
-
Quote:Well, he's going to have anyone who stands against him murdered - so that's not just military targets:Remember when he ordered that only military targets be attacked? Honestly, I imagine the body count will be significantly less than you think, because he won't start killing dissenters until after he's taken control and established Enriche dispensaries and Seers.
And the invasion plans make it quite clear thatm just like on his own world, Tyrant defines people who stand against him as not just ones who openly fight him, but also ones who think about resisting the loyalists:Quote:"Those who are in Praetoria deserve the chance to live. But not the people in Primal Earth. They have gone for far too long believing in their own way of life. I cannot simply go in there and have them change. No, doing so would be far too difficult and would risk the lives of those in Prateoria.
The only way this can end is for all those in Primal Earth who can stand against me to be wiped out. The others will be assimilated into the new Praetorian society on Primal Earth."
Unless he's crushingly stupid, Tyrant must be able to work out that invading a world of over 6 billion people, and then murdering anyone who fights against him, or even thinks about fighting against him, will lead to a body count in the millions.Quote:"We have been ordered by Cole to take any non-super powered being prisoner and to have the Seers scan their minds to see if they are a threat. Any civilian who is not a threat will be allowed to live under Cole's new empire. We have also programmed the machines to avoid attacking civilians, though casualties due to collateral damage can not be avoided."
Plus, he's also intending to invade every Earth in the multiverse, where he'll repeat the same tactic - kill anyone who fights his stormtroopers, and then kill anyone who thinks about resisting his dictatorship - so he'll be racking up a body count in the millions for each Earth he enslaves - and multiplying that by the number of Earths there are in the multiverse , it's quite clear that he's totally ok with killing trillions of people for the "greater good".
That's why we get that darkly humorous line of him accusing Duray of crimes agaisnt humanity, when he himself is the biggest threat to humanity in the entire game - none of the other supervillains or their organizaitons come anywhere near Tyrant and the loyalists in the scope of their evil. -
I'm pretty sure that it'll have to be an NPC that delivers the killing blow, otherwise it'll make it hard for future content that refers to the murder if it's done by a player - unless they can find a way to set up the killing to avoid the identity of the killer being known to the rest of the Phalanx, Longbow, the general public and so on.
Although with the new approach to red side content, I'm also pretty sure that the murder will be done in such a way that whoever the actual NPC murderer is, it'll done in such a way as to have been impossible without the actions of the player - like it won't just be the player tagging along with the NPC to carry out the killing - it'll be the NPC needong the help of the player to carry out the killing. -
Ages ago, before we had IOs, the Battalion were being lined up as an enemy group so powerful that they couldn't be soloed, and that teams would need to use the Invention system to have a chance of defeating them - going by some of the hints that the devs have given, as well as Prometheus saying that the Battalion are an even bigger threat than Tyrant and the loyalists, it looks like that basic idea might still be behind the Battalion, only now it'll be the Incarnate system we need to have a chance of defeating them rather than the Invention system.

I'm pretty sure they'll have been building up a lot of stuff to release weekly, rather than making each new thing the week before it's released.
-
As they've said it'll be roughly once a week, my guess is that we'll get weekly new stuff

Who was doing the PvP, and what part of the zone was it in?
-
This is totally the wrong area - the beta forums are for all beta feedback.
But if there was any PvP in Atlas Park, that'd just be the devs and some players fooling around - if it was a bug, it'd be all over the forums by now

Quote:All the servers will be getting an invasion
So, three out of four of the (former) EU servers (plus Freedom and Virtue) get invasions, but not the one I play on. Oh well, guess I won't have to worry about lag and such then. Not that it's a common concern anyway - during the last double xp weekend it was the only English speaking server I didn't see hit two yellow dots. Between around 20 established characters and a decent size SG base I've worked hard for, it doesn't look like I'm going anywhere anytime soon either.

The stuff we learnt about the Seers in GR didn't show us the full picture - the things we learn about them in FW just makes Mother Mayhem and the loyalists even more evil than before.

Going by the download on Test server yesterday, it could be over 2GB.

Quote:And assuming his spies have given him the basic info on Primal Earth, he'll know that over 6 billion people live there, and that his plans to exterminate anyone who resists his invasion will lead to a morally gray body count. If you play the Loyalist path to the end in Praetoria, you get a chance to meet Cole face to face. In that meeting Cole admits both that he "has blood on his hands" and more specifically he has no intention of ever allowing humanity to make significant choices for themselves as to their destiny, and will destroy (as in "kill") anyone who opposes him. Not just anyone who is a proven threat to him, because as far as Cole is concerned all humanity cannot be trusted: either people follow him and are safe to remain alive, or they oppose him in which case they are too dangerous to live.
