I've done everything that ya'll here and the COH tech team have told me, and yes it fixed the black screen; however, nothing has fixed the LONG LOAD times. First to get to the log in and pass screen. Second, to go from the server to the toon selection screen. Then, from picking the toon to the load screen for the map, which takes so LONG that I just kill the game so I can use the comp. again. What could be causing this issue?
-
Not sure what you mean by uninstalling the windows update that started it. I Did all that you said; however, as I am getting help from COH IT as well, they said,
"3.Locate NVIDIA Drivers and click it. Make sure that you only uninstall the Display Drivers.
(Do not uninstall any NVIDIA nForce chipset drivers as this will cause system instability.)
This concerns me, b/c in the Drive sweeper it has Nvidia chipset to get rid of too, and I checked it. So, does that mean I have to find and DL and re-install my Nvidia chipset?
I can't find any such chipsets with Nvidia title in my Uninstall programs menu either. I even went back to 185.85 and it still isn't working.
4.Click the Change/Remove button.
5.On the NVIDIA Uninstall window, click the Yes button to continue.
6.Once the drivers have been uninstalled, allow your computer to reboot.
7.Upon boot up, the Windows® Hardware Wizard will appear. Cancel out of it (you may have to twice if your card supports a secondary display).
8.Install the latest video drivers by running the installer you downloaded from NVIDIA.
9.Reboot once more to complete the installation process. -
DAMN this is HIGHLY annoying...I can't play the game b/c of this stupid *** driver crap, and it's pissing me off.
-
I did all the steps you said, except I couldn't find where you change to log in as admin. I set my account up as admin, so that should matter right? So, after doing the steps, I still am loading at an EXTREMELY slow pace. I play BF2142 and don't have the lag issue, but with COH, I do have a problem. What else could be going on? I noticed the driver fix, fixed things that were messing up in my BF2142 game, but no fix to COH. Should I uninstall, reinstall COH?
-
Also, I tried to roll back the drivers, the regular way, then uninstalled them, when it didn't work that well. Then, my OS gave me back the 185.55 (i think) the bad ones. So then I went to Nvidia and downloaded the 190.38, installed and I am still having a problem. I can get to the loader, and go to my charcters, it j . . . . . u . . . s . . .t. t. .ak...es f. . o. . r. . e. . .ve. . .r. So, could it be the dirvers loading the graphix that make it slow down that much. I don't think it is my connection, becuase I can get on BF2142 easily and play. Not sure what is up with the COX servers though. Like I said, the load screen appears. . . I get the blue screen, of the coh characters, but it takes a very long time to get to the part where you put in your name and pass. Then when you pick a server and load a guy that takes a bit of time, but when you press next and try to enter a ZONE, man forget about it, takes forever. What the HE double LL is going on?
-
How long do you think it will take for Nvidia to fix this, so that COH will work? What has to happend? Do I have have to let Nvidia know of the problem, does the COX tech support let them know? Or is it one of those, roll back, because it could be awhile?
-
Is 185.85 newer than. . . 186.35, seems that way by the numbers.
-
So, what driver version is 185.85 is that the old version, that I'll be rolling back to, or is it a diffrent version than what I have now? I have version 8.15.11.8635. . . If I roll it back, is that going to cause problems w/other apps? Is that a permanent solution "The roll back" or does COH release a patch to fix for that driver?

This was the latest patch on my Windows 7 OS for my drivers. Since patching everytime I load COH I get all the sound for the load up screen but no Picture, just a black screen. Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix/troubleshoot? -
I am new to the Fourtuna, I had one that I never used and thought I would play around with it in the AE farms, just to see what it could do. I need help with it, this is what I want to do with the build (first try). I know there are better SOA makers out there so give me a hand, thanks.

I find myself saying this alot recently, but you want Conserve Power up often and I'm not telling you not to take it, but seriously examine whether you need hasten, or whether you're taking it out of habit. Soloing AVs requires sustained DPS over minutes at a time, which requires sustained endurance, and many people overlook the latter when building for AVs. If I had to guess, MA seems like it has quick enough attacks to not need Hasten for a competent attack chain for AVs.
Also, you can't solo AVs if you can't heal yourself. Either take the Medicine Pool for Aid Self or carry greens because you will get hit, soft-capped or otherwise.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm still on the fence with taking Aid Self, wich you have to take a wasted power (for soloing) first. Then, there's the Idea of taking out CS and adding something else and slots to Conserver power to have it up more often. I need some number crunchers in here to look at that build and tell me if it is END manageable or not, and how much DPS will I be able to pump, what can be stripped and put in for what powers? -

I think reaching waaay back like KOBlow without the little hand twirl part, then coming over the top and sinking your fist into the earth would be pretty damn cool.....
[/ QUOTE ]
I think a better KO Blow would be like one in a Boxer or Street Fighters skill set, i.e. the Overhand Right or Left, that way it could be alternated as well. The overhand right knocked out Michael Bisping at UFC 100, if you want to see it in action. That is the definition of KO blow...lol -

Yeah b/c claws and regen, that's not begging for one. . .
Listen they settled this stuff long ago, you can't Copyright Powers. . .only the toons who use them. -
[ QUOTE ]
Even I can't figure out what that says.
As many have said, the highest DPS attack chain is Storm Kick -> Crane Kick -> Storm Kick -> Crippling Axe Kick.
It looks like you are suggesting Storm Kick -> Crane Kick -> Crippling Axe Kick. That does less DPS for more EPS and higher required recharge. Storm Kick is your heavy hitter, and has the best DPE in the set as well, so you want it twice instead of once.
I did take the increased critical chance on Eagle's Claw into account in my spreadsheet. You might still prefer Eagle's Claw for the stun, or because you don't like the Crippling Axe Kick animation. But you want Crippling Axe Kick if your only criteria is DPS.
[/ QUOTE ]
I just copied this from your Spreadsheet...this is your SK>CK>SK>CAK DPS chain. -

Actually, the one thing I would like for Brutes, even if I get booed out of this thread, would be something involving zweihander weapons(two-handed weapons(not to be confused with dual-blades)). I have many thoughts in my head about seeing a Brute wielding a claymore, a massive axe, a polearm, or a maul(two-handed warhammer). I do realize that indeed there would be a massive amount of additional powersets though., but by the gods, I would love to see something along these lines. Seeing a Brute wielding a Legacy War Axe, or Legacy War Mace is fine and dandy, but I'd rather something where you use two hands for that oversized weapon, rather than just one hand. Of course, you couldn't use shield proficiency with this powerset, just like if you picked the dual-blades powerset.

Lol. . .thanks Brawlnstein. To everyone else thanks for the info. I took Hasten, not just for the recharge of attacks, but for recharge of Focus Chi and Conserve energy. I will take the Hasten idea under advisement. Also, I like to keep my DPS as high as possible, like around 210/215.

Well, the numbers a better for Focused and it provides a debuff resistance, to -to hit. Only problem with it is the end. Grant Cover is for the defuff resistance to defense.

Ah the good old days when you could permanently have enough regen to go from 1 HP to full in a tad over 12 seconds. Back then a /Regen was either dead or immortal... if you survived the first 10 seconds of a fight you knew you could put your PBAoE on auto and go fix a sandwich if you wanted to.

AMEN! Brother Man! If you want to make an Immortal conceptually that is what you did, now, Inv w/a lot of IO's and Stoners in Granite. The only 2 Immortals I've seen as of late. -
Oh come on someone comment, don't just look at it.

I think at the heart of this and every other issue about Regen IMHO, is you have the Old COH players of Regen, when it was glorious, and the NEW breed of COX players.
When in its prime REGEN was AMAZING. . .that unfortunately got itself NERFED. Then the complaints rolled in, and they tweaked, and tweaked it till it is the Regen "click to live" set we all (old) timers love to hate, and you young COX "New" Breed Regen players think is awesome, "IF" you can manage it well. And yes it does take more to use than just "I"m hurt I'll heal!"
Here is the underlineing problem with the WAY Regen works now. . . It doesn't. That's a period at the end of that statement. For you 4 AV's at one timers showing us it does, you are only showing that YOU are what works not the REGEN. You didn't do that by standing there and letting your body regen the damage you took. You double stacked +def (1st of all) and secondly YOU are really AWESOME with that set, you know it well, and probably use it better than any other person around right now. BUT, like I said YOU make that set good, Regen doesn't make it good. Also, it's a huge misnomor. It isn't REGEN it's Click to Heal/Self Empathy.
A new person joining this game for the first time is usually going to join b/c they have a fav. character that they want to remake on COX. A lot of people love Wolverine, DeadPool, Sabertooth and others with that good 'ole Regen. Sadly when they play it, they think, why do I have to concentrate like I'm taking a dump to heal? Why do I get the stuffing beat out of me when I'm trying to learn how to play and can't manage all these clicks and still fight. The COX franchise really hurts itself by allowing this FAN BOY power be so HARD to really get good at, that new players gives up on it and switches to WP or something else, or just quits the game all together. LOL. . .you should have seen the amount of Wolverine clones when COH went live. . .OMG. . .I had mine, my first 50, my first character was a Claws/Regen aptly named Texas Talon. Now, he is never played. . .his Regen isn't Regen, it's click healing, self-empathy, Empathy party of one, but I digress.
The moral of this rant, info blog, minor message, is that old Regen was really, REALLY GREAT. . . then it was nerfed beyond belief. If they could find a happy medium, and allow it to be a toggle/click set; just fix it. For those of you who say it isn't broke, well if you didn't play it back then, you can't have an opinion on it now. . .you can't make an informed decision rather, becuase you didn't have anything to compare it too.
To answer those who will try to say, "well the Devs haven't fixed it yet so, there must be nothing wrong with it." I say, it still is chosen by many new players, who have NO IDEA how far it is from what there idea of REGEN is going to be. They just pick it and find out later. So to the makers of the game and data mining, it's being picked a whole lot still, so it doesn't need to be fixed. I would be intrested to see what the comparison of Pre nerf regen users, compared to New COX users Regen Users (huh? does that make sense?) and NEWBS. I'd like to see the graph, pie chart, data, of those diffrent groups having active Regen characters and how much they get played compared to other sets, how many Regens get started then deleted, for something else, or how many get shelved. Finally, how many click loving, skilled having regeners actually play. If it is like 1% of the community then you know, for a power as popular as it is in Comics and with FAN Boys, there is something. . .terribly. . .WRONG! -
Ok here is my revamped version. . .critiques? Is the DPS sufficent to solo AV's? Also, should I take Grant cover instead of Conserve energy? I took focused ACC so I could slot for the continuious +dmg proc from Gaussian. I could go Tactics however. . . for more team freindly build.
