My question to NCsoft is that now that you have canned a fair chunk of our EU.community team, and players are rallying round to provide for each other....

    [/ QUOTE ]

From a community team of 11, the only redundancy is Kerensky. We're all very sad to see him leaving us.

Rockjaw, Aero and the other member of their team are all leaving and yes, that's a significant loss of talent and resources, but it's not going to stop us doing cool things in the future.

    [ QUOTE ]
Where are NCsoft?, what are they going to do for the EU.community? You give U.S players Hero-Con!, will we be seeing Hero-Con over here at any stage?, ...in fact are you going to do anything for us your supporting EU.subscribers?

    [/ QUOTE ]

*scratches head* I seem to remember there was something that happened at Easter...? I think a member of our community made badges for attendees? Sorry for the sarcasm here, but it pains me to see a complaint like this when we do *so much* over here - that you've been a part of in small ways! US players were jealous of our Omega Sektor event. And it's not just OS earlier this year, but all the other shows we've attended, events we've hosted in previous years, special things we've put together (eg the Draw the World Together artists and more besides).

Will there be changes as a result of the changes that have occurred? Certainly. That doesn't mean we're dead and going to do absolutely nothing. Just to get us started, we've got members of the French community team heading to a show in Paris in the coming weeks.

    Cyborg leakage

Sorry, ML, but I really feel that your post needs to be responded to. It's important to both keep things in context, and not pre-judge without all of the information available.

Jet Pack: As others have noted earlier in the thread, the Jet Pack was originally conceived as a bonus item that goes with the new Game+Game Time Card being sold in the US. The idea of making it available as a standalone purchase came from the community, not the marketing team, so the idea you are saying should have been 'canned' is the one of "listening to the community". As far as I'm concerned, that's a good idea .

I don't expect that to change anyone's opinion on whether or not it is good value (that's your decision to make), but I do feel that when the original purchase of the item is taken into account the comments about the actual item itself are a little strong.

Cyborg Pack: There's quite a bit of new material in the pack. Judging it based on what you've seen so far is definitely pre-emptive. There are emotes, a new power, several costume pieces... Judge it once you've seen everything that is being offered. Several people put their time into developing this pack and I think they deserve to at least have the value of their work judged based on full information, not a leaked snippet.

    BM/WW broken?

Should be posting an official notice about the build publish within the hour.
  4. GhostRaptor_EU

    BM/WW broken?

    [ QUOTE ]
Ummm, why we aren't getting new version too today (yet we got it at TR)?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because it was only confirmed for US publish last night after EU close of business, and because the build is still awaiting confirmation that it is good to go for Europe. Expect it to be published tomorrow during the normal maintenance window (I hadn't mentioned it yet due to the fact it hasn't been confirmed yet).
  5. GhostRaptor_EU

    BM/WW broken?

Sorry, distracted earlier today and didn't think of it.

Yes: BM/WW will be down because the US servers are down for maintenance.

As a rule of thumb: if the US servers are down for maintenance, BM and WW will be as well as they are hosted with the US servers.
  6. [ QUOTE ]
With the loss of the community team and the Omega Sektorian (slight exaggeration, I know, GR) it ain't looking good.
Sad to see you go, nice Mr Green-name, you made last Easter very special.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Slight?!? Rockjaw and Aero no longer being with us does not - of itself - mean that the proposed Omega Sektor event for next year won't happen. We've still got a quite sizeable and talented community team (especially given they weren't actually a part of the Community team ). It's really too early to say one way or the other right now, however if there's a way for it to happen I'll be doing my darnedest to find it!
  7. That's exactly what the "has been escalated" message is intended for. Once it's escalated, if you don't hear anything that basically means there's nothing new to tell you. Unfortunately providing updates that pretty much say "there is no update" is not an efficient use of time when the team is constantly receiving new petitions that also need to be addressed. Hence, updates are only provided when there is an actual update available.

    Craft Lost Cure

    [ QUOTE ]
He has bug reported it weeks ago and to date has no reply, I assume as it is not stopping further advancement it is not considered a priority.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Please note: using /bug for an issue that requires support, such as this, won't help resolve your problem as /bugs go to the QA team and will not be replied to. For more information, please see this thread.

Please use /petition or the Knowledge Base "Ask a Question" feature on PlayNC, and a member of the support team will get to you as soon as possible with a solution.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
If you're not going to report it, how can you expect the devs to EVER solve it?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Thanks, FFM.

shazan: a simple facet of software development and bug squashing is that the more data there is available, from multiple sources, the more likely a solution / fix / workaround is going to be found. A further thing to keep in mind is that the resources available to the dev team are not infinite. That means that *everything* gets prioritised. There are a lot of factors that go into prioritising what does and does not get worked on, however it is generally the case that as the number of unique reports about a specific issue/bug increases, the higher that issue/bug will become in the priority lists for receiving resources.

Put simply: If you don't report it, we don't have the information we need to correctly prioritise. When support says they've escalated, that means the issue has been forwarded on to be investigated by the QA team and all further reports of the same issue will also be forwarded and tallied.

    Coincidence?
Any word about Palladium or they are phasing out French and German servers in the process of cutting down expenses?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Pure coincidence.

Palladium is staying, and as I stated earlier in the thread CoH in Europe will be remaining as it is (with the exception of Kerensky's possible redundancy). No server mergers or closures that I am aware of.
  11. We already work very closely with Draw the World Together at events that we attend, and we've raised a lot of money for charity since the partnership was first launched.
  12. If you're having this problem and have not already sent a petition to support, *please* make sure you do so.
  13. I've removed the Shakespeare derailment. Please try to avoid any further completely irrelevant tangents .
  14. Please note:

I'll leave the thread here as long as discussion remains related to the OP's post and involves CoH. If the discussion evolves in the direction it has been, however, I'll at the very least move it (to the culture forum) and will lock it if the discussion cannot be carried out in a civilised manner.
  15. While I can't go into details heavily, I wanted to address a few points to ease any concerns you may have about City of Heroes, and specifically CoH in Europe.

I'll start by linking to Lighthouse's post with regards the status of NCNC and CoH. In summary, City of Heroes is not directly affected. Development continues, and the expansion of the NCNC team continues. CoH in Europe will also continue as it has previously.

The only thing that might change is that there is a possibility that Kerensky may be leaving us. I stress possibility, because it is not decided yet. The community team will still be here, doing all the things we've always done: attending shows, supporting your player events, subduing naughty posts, flying over Paragon City and the Rogue Isles spying on what you're all up to and more.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
A clear "The website will soon be seeing some changes / updates, and the features that you have highlighted, such as the fansite alliance, are going to be overhauled/updated - either as you all hope, or to a different level".

That's the sort of 'clear' message I am hoping for

    [/ QUOTE ]

This was meant to be clearer than it came out, or appears to have been interpreted. So to be clear: There are changes and updates coming. I don't have a timeline. I cannot confirm what will happen to current features or any specific new features. And we've already been (slowly, granted) working on addressing the Fansite Alliance which had stagnated. I expect in the next week or two some of that will become visible to the wider community.
  17. If you haven't already, please make sure to contact our Support team who will hopefully be able to assist. You can do so either from in-game or through our website; instructions for both can be found here.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
I just feel as though it's another piece of 'community' entertainment to keep the forumites happy. There are many that *aren't* forumites, who don't see this happening - and who still look at the website and sigh, waiting for some sign of change. Nothing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which is why when I actually formally announce the contest, it'll be on the website. It's not officially announced yet .
  19. It appears there was a network hiccup that affected the servers, that has now been resolved.

Anyone remember Build a Better Bridger?

I'm starting to plan on running one for my character (his current costume, quite frankly, sucks )...

    [/ QUOTE ]

What do you want? What do you currently have? Idea's and Picture please.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ignore what I currently have, that's irrelevant. There will be a few stipulations and some basic guidance offered once I get this all nailed down, however some pointers for those already thinking:

    * Should be based on my forum name. Just to make sure, as it's often misunderstood, the "Raptor" portion refers to birds of prey. I often use an avatar that was created for me many years that is the head of a Wedge-tailed Eagle made to look a bit undead.

    * Costume must include wings (or be able to include wings).

    * I'm an Aussie, so any subtle Aussie theme is most welcome .

    * Character is male.
  21. There will not be a public accessible forum, and there will not be an "Adult" forum such as that suggested. These forums are provided for the community of players to discuss City of Heroes and closely related topics (Comics and such).

    [ QUOTE ]
Brown Nosers. Those people who seem to think they’ll get xp for pointing out where people have broken the forum rules. Newsflash…that’s the mods job, not yours!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, we actively encourage the community to report posts to us. While forum moderation is a part of our jobs, we aren't employed as forum moderators.
  22. Due to the extreme uncivilised mess that became of this thread, it's being closed.
  23. Anyone remember Build a Better Bridger?
