Just a quick update on this. The fix we have works, in that it restores the Apocalypse to correct functionality, however the actual cause of the original problem remains. What this means is that the Apocalypse may, at random, stop functioning. We're monitoring and the vast majority of the time the event should be fixed again before you even notice it's been broken. If the Apocalypse does stop working for longer than a few hours, however, please don't hesitate to let us know.

EU Servers, and you can't. The feature used to exist on the EU site but never worked properly so they removed it.
The new website *might* have it, but I wouldn't bet money on it.
[/ QUOTE ]
A server status feature will *hopefully* be on the new EU website when it launches. Can't say anymore than that currently. -

Can we first get the new forum... this one is.. errr.. pretty borked.
[/ QUOTE ]
Definitely ... Not got a set date yet, but I'm expecting a beta version of the new forums within a very short period. -

And the fact we need to do 3 websites :-).
[/ QUOTE ]
City of Heroes websites? Or just the main PlayNC one?
Or is the City Vault getting it's own separate website?
[/ QUOTE ]
Just to confirm, I was referring to needing to prepare a site for each language.
I don't yet know when we'll have the new site design for Europe, I'm afraid. I will keep you as informed as I can, however. -

I'd just love to meet this army of people that want to buy wedding packs, extra slots and respecs from NC with a nicked credit card.
Cos i can see there is a huge profit to be made there.

It's not just booster packs for CoH we're talking about here. When we offer new payment methods we look to offer them across as many titles and as many products as possible. Fraud has been a big issue for us in the past (even leading to the complete removal of at least one payment option due to the costs associated), and it will continue to be a consideration in future.
However, let's not concentrate on fraud here ... as I said earlier, it is not the only consideration when it comes to offering alternative payment systems. -
We're working on doing the same site design for here in Europe as well. Unfortunately the work has been delayed due to some high priority new work the web guys need to do ... And the fact we need to do 3 websites
.
We will, however, be launching the beta phase for the new forums here in Europe in the next few days. -

Any bonus pack bought of the website can be paid for using credit card, debit card (both Maestro and Solo, listed under the 'Credit Card' dropdown), Paysafecard, and PayPal.
.
[/ QUOTE ]
How?!
Really...I only see the option of Creditcard and paysafecard...
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry ... forgot that PayPal is currently limited to a few countries. If you aren't seeing it as an option then your country may not be on the allowed list yet. This is because PayPal doesn't always operate the same in all countries, so we have to make a per-country decision on whether it is viable to offer it. -
Unfortunately the way the in-game store works precludes us from allowing payment by means other than a credit card on file. It's a technical limitation of the system as it currently works.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Let me put it this way for you. If you want to give NC your money, they will go to great lengths to let you do so. Any limitations in payment options is squarely down to the banks. Remember, NC WANT your money.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, the banks are generally pretty good. It's unfortunate that some alternative methods of online payment charge significant fees to the seller, others potentially open the floodgates to potential fraudulent purchases, some are technically difficult to incorporate and many are of very limited scope (eg country-specific).
As an example, PayPal is only offered now because of improvements they have made in terms of protecting sellers from fraudulent purchases. -

If it comes to that you're still posting in BST GR
Edit and so an I!
[/ QUOTE ]
That, I can't fix ... it'll fix itself this weekend when the USA changes back to normal time. -
[ QUOTE ]
Oh, one small issue with the article on the site - BST ends this Saturday/Sunday, so we're back to GMT for the race itself!
[/ QUOTE ]
Eeep! Thanks, fixed -

I think it's a bit funny that ppl who don't have credit card or anything like it are totaly screwed... we can buy game-time card... but have no chance what-so-ever to get more slots, buy weding/cyborg/whatever packs... we can play the game and live with what NCSoft don't force players to pay extra for...
I really thought they had made it smart enough so ppl with game-time card would pay with some of that game-time instead... it really adds up to the same

Unfortunately I don't have any specifics to share, however I will state that we're always looking at ways to increase payment options. In some cases there are technical limitations (in the case of putting the booster packs on the in-game store, for example) that need to be solved before any major changes can be implemented. Trust me: we know that making things available more easily to a larger group of people is a good idea! All alternative payment options need to be assessed for viability, however, and that takes time. Many simply aren't feasible as they cost us too much to make them available to be financially sound. -

Cool, though I meant that part of the question more for the players

We're all players here. Not necessarily CoH, but we all game a *lot*.

And I was greated with there is no problems replys from many on that subject and have discontinued that avenue of discussion at GhostRapors request, however I feel about the subject.
[/ QUOTE ]
My reply in that thread was merely to indicate that reporting griefing behaviour to us directly via /petition is a good thing to do. That doesn't preclude constructive discussion of griefing behaviour on the forums, as long as that discussion remains within the forum rules.
This particular thread ... is being closed because it has not remained within those rules. -

As november is just around the corner, I can't help but wonder....
Will NCsoft be at Memorabilia this year?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes - planning is in progress. I'll hopefully have an announcement about everything we're doing sometime this week
[ QUOTE ]
What about DTWT?
[/ QUOTE ]
They'll be there. Sketching and colouring!
[ QUOTE ]
Who will be going?
[/ QUOTE ]
Almost the entire community team and a few others. -
[ QUOTE ]
Probably too soon, though having it before release would facilitate discussion about it; but once the Mission Architect is released, can we pretty please have a forum section dedicated to it? Somewhere where architects can discuss the whole process?
Getting it sooner would be nice, as we could discuss story ideas etc...
[/ QUOTE ]
I think that can be arranged, when we get closer to the time.
-
Kerensky's position was made redundant as part of the restructuring process. Due to legal reasons associated with that, unfortunately no one will be communicating with the German community directly on a day-to-day basis.
Edit: to clarify, as there appears to have been a misunderstanding: We still have people reading the German forums and collecting feedback. Major announcements will still be posted to the German forums.
We will do everything we can to support the German community within the constraints that have been placed upon us. Unfortunately, for the reason above (amongst others), we will not have anyone replacing Kerensky for direct day-to-day communication. -

Thread Necromancy FTW!!!
Ok I initially started this thread as I was unable to pay to play the game. Despite disbelief from other people on the forum I was proven correct that yes they had indeed removed a payment option and not bothered to inform us. Every few weeks I checked the payment methods available and eventually they started offering payment by Unverified Paypal. So I resubscribed (a couple of days ago)
[/ QUOTE ]
One-off time purchases via Maestro have been available for well over a month now (very nearly two). The Maestro option was announced here. Unverified PayPal for the UK has been available for longer.
[ QUOTE ]
Well thanks a bunch Customer Service, because you removed a Payment option I couldn't play the game and now when I can play the game I have lost several billion inf worth of items. Gee thanks for that. Guess that its pretty much pointless to continue resubbing to the game as the time and effort I put in to get the stuff that has been lost was immense. So just going to let my sub run its course (only 28 days left) and then its goodbye to COH for good.
[/ QUOTE ]
While I appreciate the size of your loss, our policy is that lost items are not restored; especially in the instances where in-game text states that items will be lost if left. Your case is somewhat unique, however subscription options you could have used were made available within 60 days of you starting this thread. As was informed at the time, removing Maestro was not our choice: we were/are unable to offer it whilst still remaining compliant with MasterCard's policies for Maestro. We sent affected customers 15 days free time and we implemented a new method of payment for Maestro users as rapidly as we could (which, per above, has now been available for nearly two months and was made available well within 60 days of Maestro auto-recurring subscriptions being removed). -
The fix is in place now and we'll continue to monitor.

OKies GR.
(Last event seen: 16:20, Faultline).
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah - our GM's manually triggered that one on Union and Defiant.
We have now received a solution for rectifying the issue and it is currently being applied across all European servers. Once this fix is in place the Zombie Apocalypse events should resume occuring regularly. -
Please see this thread for a current update.
Because this is a technical / bug issue and because there were other threads running in that forum, I'm going to close this thread. Please use the update thread I just linked to for further discussion. -
