At the 6, 8 and 10 o'clock Channel 7 News of Thursday 30/08/2007, and some morning papers on the 31st

“I stand here before a warehouse in Kings Row. It was this warehouse where some weird things happened earlier today.

Witnesses report that this afternoon there was a commotion inside the warehouse, which they took for just an other hero cleaning up a drug lab.

However when a few minutes later the entire building collapsed, people knew something was different.

And just as more heroes arrived at the scene to search the rubble and help out… witnesses report the building repaired itself.

How this happened is anyone’s guess, though some can’t help but wonder if that which repaired the building could be repeated and used to help the restoration program. Expert speculate that it was likely the recent collapse that enabled the repair, though as of yet there is no clear cause of either the collapse nor the repair.

Teams that went inside to investigate found a large group of approximately 50 members of the Skull gang, rather intoxicated from what is assumed Superadyne fumes. How they survived and what exactly happened here is still being investigate.

Basically, god-moding is stating both your own action, and the result on the one it might affect.

Usually, this is most visible in a fight:

A punches B in the face, breaking his nose in the progress.

That's godmoding. Not godmoding would be:
A throw a hard punch at B's face
B is hit in the face, having his nose broken and stumbles back because of the force

But then... unless A knows B well, the following is also possible:
A throw a hard punch at B's face

B takes the punch, but his invunrability lets him shurg it off.
Or
B, with his amazing reflexes, dodges the punch and instead drops to sweep at A's feet

There are more subtle and less obvious ways to godmode, but this is the most clear and annoying.
Other ways to godmode involve the simple knowing some one's game-name, something read in the BIO or even...
A hugs B - this because B might push A away or something, although usually, it's just allowed among friends. Though in a situation or with a person I don't know well I will use the "A moves to give B a comforting/friendly/intimate hug" way.

Where as I with my willpower see such an ingame bed similar to thus, and this using the same mental filtering ability that filters out un-need and/or un-wanted but often encountered information/sights.
Like that billboard I pass every day, I know it's there, I know it's a billboard, but... don't ask me what's on it, I couldn't tell you for I filter it out.

Oh, for appliances, I've found that a wall mounted 'fountain' makes for a decent looking appliance.. I claim it's a coffee maker

I'd actually like to see what you've done with your base. Is it just the straight "use items for what they're intened" or if it has some "if I use it like this, it has an other (decorative) function" like I do in my bases.

Bookshelves become walls, tall cupboards aranged in two colours makes a set a fridge while the others remain cupboards.
A white board or a painting becomes a mirror. A throne or rustic chair becomes the toilet.

Althought not with poker... but I've played out blackjack.

One time was with an actual set of cards I laid out at home and told others what they got... I'll admit to some mild cheating to give a player that was loosing all the time a few winning hands...

Other times, I rolled a d20 for each player, the one with the highest won. Again, a few cheats to keep things a bit more even were applied as it was for fun, not gains.

Both requires trust of the one rolling or laying.


Now, I know there's a light poker game... I found out at work of all places
It's Texas open poker (or some such) where you each hold 2 cards, and the others are on the table...
it connects games through IP.

It should run over CoH and I'll see if I can find out where it's from. It's installed locally.

For poker, there's not that much option for the random d20 to win, sure it's possible, but poker is more a game of skill and bluffing and such then Blackjack is.

I've made many a decent apartment in a 2x2 room, complete with kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and lounge, often with a utility closet too.

I should clarify... it's a 2x2 room that is NOT the entrance, as the Portal makes that a bit hard.... it's still doable though.

the list is the full viewing list... rather then an article list.
It's mostly pictures (.jpg) if I recall correctly.
do they HAVE to be shown, or can they be a link TO the jpg?

Basically, the idea is that you don't have to go over the 1,632,452,462,462,345,542,345,246 full articles to estimate the one you're looking for, by date? (ok, optemistic/pessimistic exageration, but you get the idea)

About the newspapers... would it be an idea to list the editions, rather then show them fully? And then link to the picture if people want to see it?

Check under "control" and you'll find an Oversight room. this costs 50,000 and is 3x3 large.
Some searching will get you some more 50k rooms of 1x2 and 2x2 size.
These are startup rooms, but will do well for decorative functions. Making all but the larger decorative rooms obsolete for their 150k.
