  1. Thank you CoX team for taking the time to address the show stopper bugs which would make many Dominators, and Kheldians player that have them as their mains distraught if they hit the live serves this week.

When an issue is released, sure you have a series of alts, but you usually gravitate to a few that you have a soft spot for. Imagine not being able to enjoy the issue like everyone else?

I like to be considerate of others, and I want them to enjoy the game as much like I do.
  2. Dual Blades with ninja run is the epitome of awesome.

In my opinion I dumped all my ninja blade, and claw stalkers the minute dual blades came out.

It is a balanced set for single target and AoE damage. There are pauses inbetween attacks in ninja blade that drives me nuts. Claws is fluid with the attack chain, but I feel without spin, and the new "improved" eviscerate it has been neutered in terms of fun of factor.

Dual Blades can be scrappy, but also very stalkerish as well. Its combos are not necessary for the set to function which is amazing...especially coming out of hide which rivals electric melee's capabilities. And the combos you choose to take can be useful in soloing. But the combo sweep for example, is very useful on teams at preventing an alpha retaliatory strike, or even an anti ambush tool.

Dual Blades for stalkers very underrated.

Unless you are recommending making it an AoE damage power (which I kinda like the sound of), but how would that be different than what they did for FF some time ago ?

    Welcome to the discussion btw.
With the addition of tip missions, I find that I can make use of the team only powers now as a solo player depending on the tip mission.

I definitely am in favor of making it a minor radial AoE damage/-res effect with a knockdown component at an enemy target. Basically, if Liquefy recharge can't be lowered, this can fill the gap for Liquefy, and you can hold off using Liquefy at key moments.

FF's Repulsion bomb doesn't debuff, but rather has a chance for disorient. It also has a recharge of 30 seconds compared to what I am proposing with 60 seconds. Given what I am proposing (-res) I find 60 seconds reasonable. Surprisingly, it also only does smashing damage, while I propose a mix of smashing/energy damage. Finally, I think making it a knockdown would be better than a knock back like Repulsion bomb so it is friendly to use even on teams.

As for the Psi hole, I am leveling my AR/SON corruptor, and I face many enemies with Psi attacks villain side, but I don't feel weak going up against them to be honest. Most Psi enemies try to hold or immobilize, so I have that covered with the shield. Sleep is another hole, but since damage can break the sleep effect, and base line health in I19 helps with that a little bit, so it isn't a big deal either.

Clarity, given the presence of the shield, sneed to be re-examined though for Sonic Resonance, but I am not sure which direction to go.
  4. /Sonic resonance from a corruptor perspective. Please don't hurt me my fellow Defenders.

Disruption Field : Change this from targeted Ally to targeted Enemy. Many Powersets have anchor debuffs, so there is no reason why Sonic cannot use its MAIN effect while solo.
I like that I can put on an ally, and just blast away without worrying about the anchor dying. It is fine as is.

Sonic Repulsion : Change this from targeted Ally to Self-centered Toggle like Repulsion Field (Forcefields) or Repel (Kinetics) It was an interesting idea, but not one which actually works very well. In fact all these types of powers should be re-evaluated. From my studies, these types of powers, if enhanced well, can simulate resistance with an effect around 50% (best performance), but the cost is extraordinary. I would (at the very least) remove the per-target endurance cost and call it a day.
They need to make it unique, and not a clone of FF or Kinetics. Repulsion should do some smash/energy damage with a -res effect. Slap a decent lengthed recharge (eg 60s).
  5. That is very similar to what /EA brutes do.
  6. FF/Energy is a good thematic pairing, although it lacks the ability to debuff. Still, FF/Energy isn't all that compared other power sets 1-30, but levels 30-50 the survivability of FF, along with the knockback of Energy is extremely valuable. When fights last longer in the 40-50 range, you can't blast a target down as quickly with debuffs, which is where a buff set like FF shines.
  7. I am leveling up my DB/EA stalker, and I feel very potent on teams. What I do find though, is that I don't have to rely on AS, but I am rewarded for using AS in a combo though (eg Sweep, Empower). I think dual blades is a well balanced, and designed smoothly for stalkers. Can't wait for One Thousand Cuts from Hide!
  8. I don't believe stalkers are balanced in terms of play style. Stalkers need to feel like a stalker, and when that option doesn't work optimally, it is only natural for people to ask the next logical point. That is, to make stalkers play a lot like scrappers/brutes.

I would love Stalkers Hide to work like Brutes /EA Cloak. It would be great if Placate bug was fixed. I would love to use AS more often. But without any of these things, the status quo isn't good enough.

More Damage/fear debuff isn't the answer, and Castle ruled it out. But he didn't rule out changes to making a stalker feel like a stalker.

Now that we have a really rough idea of the drop rates, it seems like lolincarnates indeed.
  11. Given you have hasten, I am not sure you need two recharge IO's in Sonic Siphon. Other than that, it looks good.

  13. Based on Castle's post this is how I see it.

An increase in damage is out of the question, and utility of the fear debuff seems unlikely. In addition, no new changes slated for I19.

With that out of the way, there have been several suggested changes in this thread that doesn't require a tweak to damage, or increased AoE damage, or even increasing the effectiveness of the fear debuff from AS.

    * Making Stalker Hide behave like Brute's Energy Cloak

    * As other have pointed out, Inherent Fitness opens up Stalker builds. Making Placate inherent for example opens up builds, and opens up the opportunity for a new power in its place.

*Increasing the range of the crit team buff, so Stalkers can be feel wanted even on an all range team.

Three simply suggestions, and I am sure I missed some too.
  14. I plan on picking up conserve power, from the epic pools if I need endurance help, so there are options to help with endurance. Also, I don't feel weak teaming with others using SO's compared to IO's, and if they are using set bonuses, that might not be efficient if exemplared down. So the situations where an avatar is built with IO sets bonuses that can take advantage of is rare from my view. As for incarnates, there is a possibility that you can obtain shards at level 50 from mobs, so we have yet to see all the details yet.

I do agree that without IO's that it would be difficult to slot for fun enhancements using just SO's.

    Don't mind me, carry on...
Castle is open minded for feedback, and the information can be used for I20 which is already underway for testing.

In the "If You Were Castle How Would You Change Stalkers?" thread, located here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=241835, I actually proposed a portion of Hide working in the same fashion as an EA Brutes Energy Cloak. That portion of "unsupressable" hide would have the same values that EC for Brutes does. So basically, Hide would have a "2-part" Stealth system. So while you are actually "IN" Hidden Status (our current full on invisibility through) you can't be seen at all and your first attack can critical and you can get Assassin Strikes, however, once you attack and your Hidden Status is off, there is a portion of Hide that will not supress its Stealth component and remain on. This portion will not grant auto-criticals, and only gives your slightly more stealthyness and helps you to generate "less" aggro on teams and solo. Seems exactly what a Stalker wants/needs.

An example of this would be to take your Brute, get Super Speed + Energy Cloak or StealthIO + Energy Cloak. For the most part, this will make you almost undetectible by most mobs even if you're almost right next to them. Now, run up to a mob and attack him. Super Speed's -aggro/stealth or your StealthIO's stealth will supress the second you attack that mob....however, your Energy Cloak will still retain it's Stealth values, which means that while the spawn you are attacking may see you, any stragglers outside of that spawn, or nearby spawns, will not have a chance to see you. You remain...a stealthy assassin.

To me...this concept fits Stalkers....it fits them about 10 times more than it fits my Brutes....to be honest. Anyways, I advise anyone to give that thread a good read, there were some other really good suggestions on there as well. The "non-supressing" portion of Hide is somewhere towards the last couple of pages.
    Dear Santa Castle,

    Please do this.

    Sincerely, CoX community.

  21. I don't think that is a reasonable opinion. Moving on, I tend to lean on the side of minor changes to improve stalkers, which I hope Castle considers. Many of the minor suggested changes in this thread would be easy to put in until the larger problems can be dealt with down the road.
