  1. First off, thank you for being the first person to actually reply, after nearly 100 views!

    Quote:
A lot of toggles on an already End heavy set.
While it is true that TW is end heavy, I already have Energize and Energy Drain up fairly quickly - eventually Energize will be ~2 secs from perma - and between the two I haven't needed to horde blue insps the way I did at earlier levels. When the build gets near completion I *should* have over 2 end/sec NET endurance recovery with all toggles besides FA running. I consider that sufficient for normal play. With Energize up, that increases to 2.5 end/sec - which IMO is more than enough!

    Quote:
Will the Res/Def in Tough work if it is not toggled on? If not, it'll want some endred.
The DEF bonus part is a global effect that works as long as I don't exemp more than 3 levels below the IO's level... so Tough should never be toggled on.

    Quote:
I'm going a different route for now that relies on Defensive Sweep more heavily and just boosting my totals from sets. Most of my bonuses so far are going to be Acc and bolstering the typed defenses I already have and not boslstering the positional ones. I think the positional defense add-on from the set bonuses is an interesting way to do it tho.
I still have Defensive Sweep myself, as I don't want to respec out of it until I am damn sure I can get by without. Personally, I went for soft-capping my typed defenses AND massive recharge (to get Energize as close to perma as I could without sacrificing too much) - anywhere you see positional defense bonuses in my build they were only chosen to get the lesser typed defense bonus that comes with it.

    Quote:
Is Weave really worth it for all the power choices/Endsuckage/Toggles?
Yes! Without the 5+% defense it adds I wouldn't be able to hit the softcap as easily. Plus, Tough gives me a place to mule the Steadfast without adversely impacting the amount of resists I get from EA's two passive resist powers.

    Quote:
Lemme know how it turns out.
I shall! Please, you do the same!
  2. I've only leveled this toon to 35 so far, but it's been great fun so I decided to fiddle around in Mids and see what I could achieve at 50+

Note that I do have Defensive Sweep at the moment, but I can already see a diminished need for it, and zero need once I get the majority of my positionals soft-capped.

    Thoughts / comments?

  4. Hmm. Dropping down to the second lowest setting seems to have resolved the issue... at least for now... disheartening though, as I was easily able to run with damn near maxed settings before I-19.

Guess I should try slowly ramping the settings back up until the problem reappears?
  5. I have a fairly decent, if out-dated computer, and I was considering replacing the video card. Currently I have an nVidia 7800GS based card in it... what I'm wondering is: what is the absolute best AGP 8x video card I can buy?

The rest of the important system specs are:

intel Pentium 4 3.4GHz Extreme Edition
    2 GB RAM
    74 GB 10k rpm Raptor
    250 GB external WD HD
    onboard sound/ethernet
  6. So, I've been away from the game for nearly a year, but reactivated Monday in anticipation of I-19... all was well that night, but when I started playing again on Tuesday I started experiencing lag so bad that even logging out took patience. The game acts as if it is only running/active for about 2 seconds out of 5... the other 3 seconds everything is frozen, animations and UI responsiveness. I have the latest drivers (I believe) and I've checked my computer for viruses and spyware.

Does anyone have any ideas about what I should check next?

I'm including the output from HiJack this and CoHHelper:

  7. So, I've been away from the game for a while, but I reactivated my accounts to check out i16 - and I'm in love with this game all over again - but today I logged in to find my two favorite global channels had apparently vanished... and I was definitely still in them yesterday.

I can't even find them to add them back to chat tabs...

So, if anyone knows the fate of the Virtue Speed TF, or BC's Superfriends channels please lemme know or just get someone to shoot @Galactron and @Galactress an invite, if ya can.

    Thanks in advance,

    Galactron

I predict that "Tyromancer" will be taken on every server by the end of today.

    Got it on Virtue already
  9. So, I was mulling over the whole morality spectrum being introduced... and I remembered the branching dialog functionality that was used in Cimerora... and then I remembered that I-15 is said to include various upgrades to the MA system... then it hit me: perhaps one of the things we'll see added to MA is the ability to add branching missions... with "good" and "evil" paths... to help get us ready for what's to come.

This would not only give us a chance to start working on arcs that will shift our alignment, but also give the devs valuable data on how much individual actions should count towards the shift... before actually giving us anything that comes with a change in morality. Whether or not they'd actually let us see the value, they could add the data field to our characters that holds the morality score, and let AE creators perhaps choose 3 levels of good/bad value for specific objectives.

Whether or not this is actually their plan, who knows? But if one should happen to see this thread, consider how great it would be to head off the AE morality-farmers before Going Rogue is released?
  10. I got one the other day, blueside, for my lowball bid of 333,333,333. All the last sales were 400-500m, so I was quite pleasantly surprised when that bid was filled in just a day!

Oh, and my Claw/SR no longer has a problem running all his toggles during sustained fights, and he has all the SR ones, plus Weave, CJ, Sprint and FA. Between the Panacea and the Perf. Shifter my blue bar regularly just jumps to full.

  11. [ QUOTE ]
does the 10 minute timer matter? I see that it shows that the 10 minute timer matters after the drop of a recipe but what about killing the same person over and over till you get a drop?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The timer starts when you get a recipe drop, and no matter who you kill for the next ten minutes you will not get another. As far as killing the same person over and over, that works just fine - I spend 1/2 to 1 hour a day in the arena killing a char on my 2nd account over and over, and I've gotten 2 drops in the same match!

    Hope that helps.
  12. Ok, I realize this may not be the correct place to post this, but as Vanden seems to have a better idea of how the power icons work than the devs, and the whole Q/A system is currently bogged down with other I-12 problems, I decided to come here first.

Having said that, I have noticed in the past few days that some of my power icons for powers from the Mental Manipulation blaster secondary are showing a solid black square background behind the round icon. This is especially noticable now that we can have our windows faded out.

    Any thoughts?

Note, I do have the latest vidiotmap/vanden's patch installed.

  13. After our chat this morning in-game, I decided to work on my own human-only PB in Mids. Keeping in mind that this is a final build, thus loaded with Purple sets, I think it is a decent goal to work towards.
