I've done a bit of poking around on the forums and there appears to be conflicting reports on how much of an impact this is having. Some are saying it's now impossible, others have said that it's noticeable, but still manageable. Bottom line is, we're aware of it now and we're looking into whether or not anything needs to be changed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Count me in as someone who noticed it, but didn't think it made the TF unmanageable or unbeatable. Yeah, it takes a bit longer to take down the towers, and you really need to make sure none of the already defeated towers get noticed by the repairmen, but it's not that bad.

Honestly, I thought it might have been a deliberate change to add some challenge to what has become a rather routine defeat strategy.

My biggest concern is for Master runs--you have to stack more on support than pure DPS which is where it'll cause the most problem.

Gotta label this with a big fat WHO CARES!?!

Can we have the new booster pack, issue 16 news, or Going Rogue new plz. Ty.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I care, as do a number of other people who have posted here.
  3. I have my five slots. Mua ha ha ha ha
  4. I hope soon is really soon. It's the feature I wanted most from I15.
  5. Tiger is several years old now, and every machine that can run Tiger can run Leopard. Leopard has some significant improvements for running on Intel machines (which are the only ones that can run the COH client). Leopard in fact came out pretty soon after the Intel machines came out, so most Intel Macs were sold with Leopard.
  6. Thanks for the review. Interesting idea on a battle of the groups looking for the guy. I'd have to pick carefully, one of my goals with this arc is to be actually playable level 1 through 50, but I'll see what I can do.
  7. The day I15 went live, I tried to buy 5 extra slots, and it failed. Ever since then, the slots don't show up in the in-game store. Anyone having better luck?
  8. My team didn't do so well. Had an accidental loss in the first mission, restarted, I as stone tanker fell almost instantly to Regent Korol (it's like she used her nuke as an alpha strike plus others.).

We never did complete the STF, the last mission was painful. We lost our kineticist, which both slowed things down, and wiped out most of our debuffs. And Lord Recluse's Bane-o-matic power was set to High. We finally got the towers down...and we could never quite take Recluse out. We'd get him down to the point of the banes spawning...and it reduced our DPS long enough for him to get over that point.

    *sigh*
  9. Every arc should be a complete story. A player should be able to start each arc on its own, run it and understand what's going on, and at the end have a feeling of completion. Maybe not every loose end tied up, but "Yes, the big issue here is resolved".

But loose ends can add up to a longer story. I've got my Lizardmen, there's another series about the Dream Papers. That sort of multi-arc system seems to be liked...most people just play one, but those who are into the longer stories will see them all.

    I'm on a 24" iMac - 2.4ghz intel core duo with 2gb ram

As soon as I get in the login screen I can type my account name and password but it seems like all the interface buttons and even the toggle to remember account name are unresponsive and the game just stalls with the background music looping.

I just downloaded the 14 day trial today and I verified the game files. Any suggestions?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sometimes, if the resolution of the game doesn't match your screen resolution (and on a fresh install, game resolution is 800x600) the clicks don't take place where the mouse is. Easy solution--press command-return which shifts you into windowed mode, where window size is game resolution. Click, go into settings to change game resolution settings, shut down game IMMEDIATELY, and relaunch, see if that resolves it.
  11. Just a note that Master Saturday 65 did take place, but alas without any master badges won. On my team, while looking for the Chief?, a bane executioner in one of the ambushes came for me and wouldn't be pulled off. On XeroCurve's team, there was scrapper death against Dr. Aeon.

    Here's looking to #66
  12. Agreed. An easier tweak would be to use the current 5 stars and use Mode instead of Mean. (Mode is "what ranking got the most votes", Mean is arithmetic average.) But this really is a far batter solution, nice and clean.
  13. EverStryke, but what you don't know is that we have team leaders who have a lot of experience in making Master runs. We've got enough people who show up that we can create reasonable teams (and many of our regulars have multiple alts they can switch to). And the leaders are used to both explaining the strategy clearly, walking through things slowly.

So it is a PUG, but it's not "first 7 people to send tell, we're gonna go for a master run".

And are we guaranteed success? Nope. I'd say my success rate is about 50% on these runs, maybe a little less. Accidents happen at the tree, Scirocco's aoe can sometimes take someone out, Ghost Widow can cage the tanker and then go after someone else, sometimes Mako just turns for no damn good reason, and Recluse is a bear until the towers are down (particularly if he's spawning lots of banes). But those can happen if you've been on 12 STFs with the exact same team.

Just remember, there are random PUGs, and there are crafted and led PUGs. they aren't all the same.

Which means that the whole raid can be over FAST

[/ QUOTE ]beat 9 minutes or I'm not interested

    [/ QUOTE ]
Holy friggin hell! That is bloody impressive! Though I'm not surprised to see Sandolphan running the show. Next time Victory whines about raid times, I'm linking that video. I knew under an hour times would come soon enough, but under 10 minutes? Dayum!

Can you explain this strategy? Do the nukes weaken hami that much?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The chemical nukes do weaken hami a fair amount when stacked 25 deep. But more important was the stacked bionukes, buffing the players to ridiculous levels.

The tankers moved back to where the Yellow mitos spawn, to taunt them when they respawn. And while the pets clearly helped with damage, a big part of the their purpose was distraction, mitos attacking them instead of the players.

It was a lot of fun. But given the prep time necessary, the requirement of at least 7 tankers (one for each of the yellow positions, one for hami), and more, it's not the most efficient way to take him down.

But it really was a lot of fun.
  17. Sorry, missed it again. I'll do my best for next week.

Im thinking this is a bad sign for I15. Having this much trouble getting the "beta" started points to some unexpected issues. A reasonable person could reasonably conclude that I15 is going to be a bit problematic.

Of course i hope that is not the case because I am really looking forward to new content. Even if it is only a couple of costume pieces and some TF/SF action.

We know they have to do some database work...They're stripping a bunch of badges, among other things they may be doing to MA. And Test Sever 2 is a copy of Freedom (so they might be seeing how long the processing takes on that many characters).

So it's possible this bodes poorly. Or it may not.

what is there NOT to know???? We want in ....lol

Unknown is more like "Limbo". Hovering between life and death.

Test Server...step away from the light! Come back to us, test server! Arise!

    HEADS UP

It's not coming to live, it's coming to test. And if you launch the test client, it will start downloading a 103 MB patch.
  22. You need to set the game-resolution to match your screen. This can be a bit tricky, you have to set the values, click "Apply" and immediately quit to desktop.
  23. Lord, check your computer's clock. If your computer clock is reset and way off, that can confuse CoH's date displays.
  24. Actually, there may be a real problem. Usually, when maintenance is going on, I can open the launcher, click past the EULA, and get to the login screen.

Now, I'm stuck on "Connecting.. #123456789..."

One problem with the above GadgetDon, and it's a design problem.

Some people finish an arc and don't want to rate it. Maybe they're just "playing through" or what have you. I'm one of those. I didn't realize until later that whenever I completed an arc and failed to rate it, the individual was getting a 0 star rating.

Personally, I think the interface is counter intuitive. Most ratings are 1-5 stars, with 0 stars indicating "not rated." Unfortunately, the Devs decided on a 0-5 rating scale, and failed to put it in bold print.

Anyway, yes you might be being targeted, but then again you may just be the victim of ignorance/apathy. And you know what they say about ascribing malice to things that could more easily or likely be explained by apathy or laziness.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not true. Playing an arc without rating it does NOT zero-star it. To zero-star something you must click one star, then click it again to turn it off.
