    FYI: Melee AT Patron Power Pool Ranged attacks which cause damage will be changed to using the Melee damage scale.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Will Dominators use their melee or ranged modifier?

    Melee mod would r0xxor!

    Nice to know that as soon as I summon my imps I just shot myself in the foot as far as charging my Domination bar goes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Also nice to know that the instant you summon them while fighting a held, one-shot-capable blaster, they will preferentially run 50 feet away from you to attack a boss that will slaughter them all in 60 seconds.

    You have to see where I'm coming from with this, right?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I understand where you are coming from. I've been there many times.

    I guess what I was trying to say, was what PeteX put much more succinctly: we now have a role on a team whereas before we were just a handicap that sucked healing time away from everyone else. There is a reason for Doms to be prime target now, and an equally good reason for Corrs to try and keep them alive. I was just using my experience to illustrate how multiple Dominators on a team can really ramp up that team's ability to take the enemy out of the fight.
  4. First off, I'd love to see Dom damage modifier brought up a little, I'm all about buffs.

    However I think you are looking at it from the point of view of a single Dominator on a team. Add a second Dominator and the ability to cripple enemy players (and kill them due to higher damage from both assault sets) goes up exponentially. I've run with LotD in RV, and in addition to their Doms (Doc A and Creeper), I brought a team of four additional Doms (Paris, Jumproot, Fleur Du Mal and myself) in for some assistance.

    Nothing touchd us. Seriously. Tanks were getting held by just one cycle of ST holds from each of us, even without domination up. Speaking of Domination, I know it was up on at least two of us at any given time - that many doms throwing fast-cycling mag 4-6 (whatever it is) holds will cripple anything - mez protection, BFs, CM be damned. With the support of the excellent Corruptors, it really was a sight to behold.

    Faster Domination in PVP = good
    Removal of Dominator toggle dropping = bad

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I couldn't possibly agree with Doc more!

    Please give us back our 100% toggle droppers, pretty please? 2 steps forward and 3 back is still 1 step backward.

    Let us have toggle dropping as our powerful little niche ability. We are already priority target #1 for every hero, let that mean something. Fast Dom buildup + ability to drop toggles would make the Dominator a dangerous opponent, give us a great role on teams and wouldn't be overpowered in the least.

    Puh-leeze?

    I guess the sheer size of one’s balls involves chuckling over a handful of cheetos as you hammer the attack button on your keyboard, heh.

    Haha.

    Ruthless, cut-throat people who are willing to [censored] you for their satisfaction. Hasn't the world reached its quota for these types?

    But "almost completely" is hyperbole to the extreme.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Meant to be hyperbole, for effect. People who talk in absolutes are either frustrated or stupid.

    My point illustrated is this: PlayerX makes a Dominator. PlayerW makes a Blaster. Both players can be very successful in PvE. When entered into PvP however, PlayerW will dominate PlayerX in many ways and in many circumstances, teamed or otherwise. You could even switch the person playing each toon and the result would be the same.

    Even within the same AT: PlayerQ and PlayerK choose to play blasters. One chooses Ice the other chooses AR. You have your head in the sand if you believe the AR will be a better PvP blaster than the Ice, all other things being equal.

    I'm not saying people can't make "gimp" things work. I'm pointing out that ones choice of AT and/or Powerset when one creates a character plays a large role in determining degrees of success in PvP.
  8. More Harsh Reality

    As it currently stands, your ability to be successful in PvP depends almost completely on your initial choice at the character creation screen. You may be an extremely skilled PvE gamer who knows the ins and outs of your AT and many others, yet sadly this skill falls by the wayside all too often. At times you will be apoplectically angry and curse the game for not allowing your specific AT/Powerset to be successful while seeing another completely dominating the zone. Take a time out and get a glass of chocolate milk. If you take anything from this section let it be: Your ability to be successful in PvP rests very highly upon what AT/Powersets you chose at the character creation screen, not personal skill.

    Baby Got Smash

    What's he that wishes so?
    My cousin Foo? No, my fair cousin:
    If we are mark'd to SMASH , we are enow
    To do our server loss; and if to live,
    The fewer brutes, the greater share of honour.
    God's will! I pray thee, wish not one toon more.
    By Jove, I am not covetous for infamy,
    Nor care I who doth leech upon my cost;
    It yearns me not if men my costumes wear;
    Such outward things dwell not in my desires:
    But if it be a sin to covet SMASH ,
    I am the most offending soul alive.
    No, faith, my coz, wish not a brute from Freedom:
    God's peace! I would not lose so great a badge
    As one toon more, methinks, would share from me
    For the best hope I have. O, do not wish one more!
    Rather proclaim it, Foo, through my host,
    That he which hath no stomach to this SMASH ,
    Let him depart; his ferry shall be made
    And influence for convoy put into his purse:
    We would not SMASH in that man's company
    That fears his fellowship to SMASH with us.
    This day is called the feast of Scorpion:
    He that out SMASH es this day, and comes safe home,
    Will stand a tip-toe when the day is named,
    And rouse him at the name of Scorpion.
    He that shall SMASH this day, and see level 50,
    Will yearly on the vigil SMASH his neighbours,
    And say 'To-morrow is Black Scorpion:'
    Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars.
    And say 'These wounds I had on Scorpion’s day.'
    Level 50s forget: yet all shall be forgot,
    But he'll remember with advantages
    What feats he did that day: then shall our names.
    Familiar in his mouth as household words
    Fugitive, Lazarus and The_Foo,
    Quason and EvilGeko, _Havok_ and Krunch,
    Be in their flowing SMASH freshly remember'd.
    This story shall the good man teach his son;
    And Scorpio Scorpion shall ne'er go by,
    From this day to the ending of the world,
    But we in it shall be remember'd;
    We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
    For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
    Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
    This day shall brutalize his condition:
    And gentlemen in WoW now a-bed
    Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
    And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
    That SMASH ed with us upon Black Scorpion’s day.
  10. My fav and most random was something along these lines:

    Obviously insane, scraggly-looking homeless man: "You are the coolest! Giant pumpkins!"

    Fire/Dark

    Cliche "demon from the void" concept, but I like it. I'll roll with it.

    Coming from a Regen scrapper background I sort of saw DA as the red-headed stepchild secondary but I've come to love it for the sheer multi-purpose awesomeness that it represents.

    Fire because, well, I like setting things on fire.

    Here he is looking sexy on the last day of Beta.

    Holler at me if you see me on Freedom and I'll SMASH something for you. (I just had to say it)
