Quote:I'm not the rules interpreter of course (Just a guy trying to make it to 5pm so I can go home...), but if I was I'd have to say the pedestrians alone wouldn't be enough. But if one wished to do a piece focusing on the citizens of the city, placing them in a recognizable location or having a copy of the paragon times or something in the shot would be enough to firmly establish it as a CoH/CoV related entry.Does anyone really believe using just a couple of these normal pedestrians would fulfil the spirit of the rule?
EDIT: It might be a good idea if you had an idea that skirted what might be questionable to PM Wassy about it before hand and verify that it'll be acceptable. -
Quote:I don't think that'd fly. It'd have to be something depicted inside the image.
...all Shia had to say was that on the way out of the pool Mako bit the foot off a female swim coach and flung it into the pool - problem solved.
Apologies for the late edit:
I didn't mean to be dismissive of your thoughts if that's how it sounded, so I apologize for my wording there. It just seems your interpretation of the rule is ignoring the spirit of it. There's a difference here between Shia's situation and what you're pointing out.
Wassy posted in the FArt competition announcement thread that it wasn't just signature characters that could be used, so having a drawing of something that looks like it could be a hero/villain is A-OK unless otherwise forbidden by the rules, it would seem. -

I would argue that's too narrow a view of the rule. Seems to me it's intent was to make all entiries have something to with City of Heroes, be it an unknown hero type person (swanzy's character) or Ghost Widow (LD's piece).
Lets put it this way...if Swanzy used Thor's Assassin for the piece (ignoring the fact that he's not a hot chick) would anyone be disputing the CoH link there? Probably not. Why should a lesser known character who's obviously super powered not count?
I do believe you're being too nitpicky here JK. -
Virtue has been deemed the "unofficial Screenshots & Fan Creations forum server of choice for heroic and dastardly deeds in a group setting".
Or something like that. This is why I don't name things.
As far as a TF goes, I'll have to pass. Don't yet have a 50 on Virtue. -
Six months used to be lame. Then they came up with the 57 month "50% off all costume changes" vet reward. Since in order to get to 57 months you get roughly 9-10 free tokens.

*shakes fist at everyone*
Good to see you got the hair situated there, Swanzy.
Excellent work on both pieces. I love the fire imp lighting the torch idea.
*stares at clock* 3.5 hours until I can get home to finish it off... -
I'm going to be the last person to submit, I just know it.

You're much better off whip cracking then *passes over a whip*

...
You are one incredibly strange individual. -
And just for the heck of it, it goes off the time you've actually played. If you buy a 1 year sub tomorrow that doesn't mean you instantly get the next 12 month's worth of vet rewards. You'll need to wait the appropriate amount of time before the vet reward gets unlocked.
All of this should display on your PlayNC account page (vet rewards that you have paid for enough time to get but haven't waited long enough are displayed in grey)
But the time does not need to be sequential in order for it to count. -

I noticed that Ice Slick was no longer useful like it was at low levels, not affecting most bosses and tanks, so I repecced that to Artic Air.
Ice Slick is useful 12-50 and does work on most bosses. There's a couple of enemy groups where it's not so great but thats why you've got other powers. The majority of the time, it's functional.
Ice Slick + Arctic Air = awesomeness. Don't drop one for the other. Take em both! -
The deadline in question is the midnight where in the Eastern time zone in the US, Friday becomes Saturday.
And my entry is coming along quite nicely. Should be able to meet the deadline no problem -
That is...terrifying. And also hilarious.

Quote:An unecesarily detailed vanilla ice cream flavor lesson from the internets:It's flavored with real French people...
(It's not cannabilism if they're French... right?)
The vanilla flavor of ice cream is derived from the seeds of a vanilla bean pod (or a synthetically generated vanilla type flavoring).
While the actual vanilla flavor is the same in both french and traditional varieties, French vanilla contains egg yolks for a richer consistency and is much like an egg custard before it is frozen, as opposed to a more creamy base that traditional vanilla uses.
Also the flecks of vanilla beans are often filtered out of french vanilla. Some brands introduce flecks of vanilla beans after the ice cream has been created, but as it turns out their influence on the taste of the ice cream is fairly small.
There. Now you know. (And I got to waste some time at work. Bonus!) -
double plus plus. What he said.
Only way this competition works is if all parties involved understand that it's supposed to be just for fun. And the rules are there to challenge the people participating to do things which they might not normally do, thereby improving their skillz. Life's too short to be pissed about how a friendly forum competition with no prize whatsoever is being run.
If one doesn't like how this particular competition is being handled (and did not voice their discontent when such discontent was being requested for over a month), they're free to give it a pass. Or start their own competition with rules more to their liking. -
If my FArt entry is finished I might have time Friday (my friday). Saturday is...questionable. Depends what time I get home.

I just thought up an idea for a mock web site thingy (in the shower this morning no less). Hopefully I have enough time to pull it off...talk about starting at the last minute. It may end up devolving slightly to more of a logo/flyer type thing but...we'll see how much I can get done. *furious photoshopping*

All my characters take Swift. I feel really really SLOW running around without it.
