Said plot point which could also be shown in different ways. It wasn't so much on who was involved in that plot point, as to what actually happened.

That could work. Of course, with the fact that we've not had some characters but added some new ones, we might have different extras. I'm content if they decide to remove some characters, as long as the characters they have are nicely fleshed out.

From the Wikipedia article (shortened a bit content-wise to what is relevant):

    Quote:
    Greene Family and Friends
    Name (Actor/actress)
    Hershel Greene (Scott Wilson)

    Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan)

    Beth Greene (Emily Kinney)
Hershel's youngest daughter; she's sixteen and has a boyfriend named Jimmy, and shares her family's farm with the Atlanta group.

    Patricia (Jane McNeill)

    Jimmy (James McCune)
Beth's seventeen year old boyfriend, who resides at the Greene farm along with her family and now the Atlanta group. He's shown to be eager to have a gun and attempts to get one from Rick without Hershel's permission.
So, no girlfriend for Carl. (At least not one we've met yet.)

Not terribly surprised that Sophia was turned. However, it shows that Hershel is a bigger jerk than ever. He knew a little girl was in there, but let Rick and company keep searching for her, for days on end. It must be nice to know what happened to one's family, but keep others in the dark.

I expect a huge confrontation with the next episode...

or the Scarlet Witch gets pissed off on how bad the world is, and just retcons it back to pre-Civil War?

Eh, not really surprised by Johnny's rebirth/survival. Last major death that stuck was Gwen Stacy, if I am remembering correctly.... (not counting the clone, that is to say)
  6. All good advice, though I have to say that Statler and Waldorf in you sig make it look like they are mocking the poor victim.
  7. It'd be nice if they kept the fog in some form. Maybe the use of phasing can make a good compromise? Have the players complete intro missions before the fog is lifted. That way, you can choose to complete those missions and move the storyline along, or do the street sweeps in the fog.

I had always hoped for a TF based in Dark Astoria, where the goal was to free it from the BP. At the end of the TF, you could have been marked for the phasing, so it would no longer appear foggy to you.

It's just sad that one of the few zones that has actual character is being obliterated to make way for more Incarnate content. Maybe I will like the new Astoria zone. The fog never bothered me so much, but it provided a nice atmosphere. Too many of the other zones seem vanilla in comparison; I just liked the variety. However, I have to say that no content there just made it a dead zone, so it does need some improvement.

While I love Fringe, and especially John Noble, I'm surprised it's lasted this long. They've gotten worse ratings than other shows that have been cancelled. However, I harbor no doubts that this is the final season of Fringe.

On topic, this was the best episode yet. Capitalistic, money hungry future men want to turn the paradise of yesterday into strip mines. OCCUPY TERRA NOVA!
  9. or D) Fox will consign the show to Sci-Fi Death Slot Friday, where it will languish, and then they can say, "See? We gave it a chance, and it got even poorer ratings! We have to cancel it!"

But I'm not bitter. No sir.

The timeline is wonky, for sure. Most of the time, you can just let it go, because one day is similar to the next. However, a missing person for a week? Even an adult would have a hard time staying alive for that long by themself in zombie land.

I'm also curious about weather changes; it's apparently still summer there, as they've commented on the heat, and everyone is wearing summer appropriate gear. What happens when they get to fall/winter? It's true that the South doesn't get as cold as New England or the Northern Plain states, but you can still get ice storms and freezing weather there. Do they all have winter gear, or do we foresee a raid on a sports store for outdoor gear?

  11. Damn. I think I need to invent a time machine, just so I can get through my reading list.

While I've read quite a few on this list, it still staggers me to see how many books/authors I haven't touched yet.

You see him (yes, she's a he there) in Admiral Ross' TF. You fight Fusion and Jane Temblor (Jim Temblor/Faultline) before you head to fight the two Durays.

Bolded for emphasis. It's one thing to be concerned for someone, but if he already felt that Shane was unhinged, he should have been talking to Rick about it, and not confronting Shane by himself. He apparently was letting his big brain doing the thinking...

I was talking to someone about this, and we wondered when/if the Walt syndrome would occur. Obviously these kids are growing, so either we go the Walt route, or they do it as The Other Darrin.

Dr. Jenner and the CDC were never in the comic. As for what he whispered, I think we can rule out anything as small as STD or any other regular health concerns. Dr. Jenner is obviously suicidal at the point where he whispers to Rick, so I doubt he'd keep anything that "ordinary" as a secret. My guesses are these:

    1. Everyone is infected with the zombie virus. Jenner could have found this, by running test samples of their blood. Maybe he was hoping to find a person who was not infected, in hopes of finding someone who was immune? However, knowing that they are all infected, he could communicate this in secret, without smashing the rest's hopes. By the way, this could explain why there are so many zombies in the first place, as it seems that zombies pretty much pig out when they get to a buffet.

    2. There isn't any more government/authority. Being at the CDC, he would have had access to emergency channels not normally available to non-government agencies, and may have heard reports of other places falling to zombie hordes. Having felt a loss of hope, he wanted to make sure that Rick was not giving false hopes to those following him? Or maybe it was a warning about not going to those places, to try to help them as a last chance at redeeming himself from failing his wife?

True enough; my mother was like that as well. However, we grow to love (and tolerate) our families, so it becomes a bit easier to take. Dale is not in that position, so how will everyone take it if it continues? (Heh, they may not need to take it much longer...) (Not a spoiler, just a thought )

Which made me like Daryl even more. He's quickly becoming a favorite character, even though he didn't have much to do this past episode.

And you'd think that Dale, being as old as he is, would learn to shut his mouth occasionally. I can understand why Glenn felt the need to tell his secrets; he has got two huge ones that could impact the group. However, Dale is apparently a meddler; he took what he knew, and decided he knew what was best for those involved. In regular times, those kind of people get ostracized; what happens to them in post-zombie world?

  17. First off, thanks for the replies to my original question.

Now, it seems odd that we would need two recipes to be able to use guns in both hands. Will the unlock option at Empyrean Michael, for those DP and Thugs toons, require two purchases as well, one for each hand? If not, why the difference?

  19. Just looked in AH under Recipes, under Other, and there is a recipe for Maelstrom's Pistols. It is a purple, no history, 21 bidders.

This just get added today, or has it been there, and I missed it?

  21. Lex Luthor is one of my favorite villains. Why? Because he believes that he is saving the world from Superman. Lex honestly believes that Superman is a bad influence on the world, despite how many lives that have been saved. Lex may go about this in all the wrong ways, but he honestly believes he has the world's best interests at heart.

Dr. Doom is very similar to this; he wants to rule the world because he believes that he is best suited for it. Yes, he does have a massive ego. However, the citizens of Latveria have prospered as a nation. It may be a heavy handed rule, but again, he recognizes only himself as a competent ruler.

As for the bad - evil - villain, evaluate these scenarios:

    1. Cop stops an armed robbery. In preventing harm to bystanders, he shoots and kills the robber. Saving bystander = good, but killing = bad. Is the cop bad for killing?

    2. Same scenario as 1, except it's a normal citizen instead of a cop.

    3. Time traveler comes to the past to prevent an armed robber from killing a bystander. Would future knowledge of a murder be considered an acceptable reason to kill the robber before the crime? Is the time traveler considered an evil person for killing someone with no apparent (to us) reason?

Morals are usually decided by the majority, but how do they apply when dealing with a different culture? Can morals change, or are they permanent? Can the ends truly ever justify the means, no matter the means? Hard to say. Robin Hood is a hero, because he gave his illegal gains to the poor. (Well, a vigilante in CoH speak, but he's still regarded as the hero of the story.)

Painting good and evil as strictly black/white is a little naive, IMO. Every person has a motive for what they do, and it doesn't always fit into small, tidy packages. Good things are done for the wrong reasons, and evil things are done for the right reasons.

Where is the line drawn for good vs. evil? Who draws the line? Different people will give different answers, and I am not sure any one person is qualified to make those judgements.

I believe that he may be referring to the server hamsters; no hamsters were harmed with running at that high of a speed. Luckily, none of the hamsters were fat, and therefore did not fall over from heart attacks, etc.

    LOL!

I've never been cool. My daughter thinks I'm cool, but she's only 7, so I've yet to hit the time when I become the uncoolest thing on the planet.

So, any idea why there are so many zombies in good shape? (Rule 1: Cardio!) Having seen how much they ate of Otis, I'm guessing that there won't be a zombie Otis. However, there were a ton of zombies at the school. Did they all get bitten once or so but manage to get away? Or is everyone already infected, but they died from some other cause?

A plausible theory is that everyone at the high school was gunned down, like what happened at the hospital in episode 1. But wouldn't the military/those in charge/etc., have done head shots to prevent any future complications?

It just seems kind of contradictory to have so many zombies around, when we've seen that the zombies go on feeding frenzies with living beings.
