    em/regen..

I also got Nin / SR because I read the description and thought it would work well, not because it would turn me into a hacking, slashing bringer of dodging doom, but I just had a tingly feeling.

    Of course, that's a bonus
  2. Because it makes sense to suddenly be able to spew acid up, despite being an otherwise totally natural, finely skilled and honed warrior with a ninja blade...

What level is this btw? I'm at 41, would be awesome to get the badge while you're fighting...er...faceplant for you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    45+... read the guides please.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thanks. Was 5 mins before work, so quick question pwnz guides, ta.

Agreed. Funny how he didn't try and plug Flurry either...;-)

    Patron Powers

Stalkers get a ranged snipe attack.

    Have fun guys!

    /sarcasm
  6. Gandrel, love the idea.

Way better than chucking some bosses on a strategically placed oil rig...

I think it's more of a case of a good Spines/Regen will eat good Blasters alive. With Spines you've got the ability to keep a Blaster at range - which is what must be done, Blasters simply can't do enough damage to kill a Scrapper before the Scrapper kills them at a range.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree here, my blaster only has two viable single target attacks at range (not including AoEs) and I would struggle as soon as the Spines ranged Immob (!!!!) plants me on the ground. But since yours is ground based, I have more range than your attack with my snipe, followed by possibly a few quick melee knockback attacks. Maybe.

  9. You've got temp powers and pets from the PVP zones, but you still want the xp boost? Keep it for actually saving the city.
  10. Or a superspeeding controller,

    they get everywhere
  11. Maybe the devs think the debt in pvp is a way of extending the game;

you die more in Siren's and Warburg because, let's face it, wandering Titans are on top of everyone's 'I want to see this in PvP zones' list, as well as more powers to actually use to get players into NPC characters.

Also of note; when you're in the mid thirties, you can no longer gain any influence in SG mode. Major drawback.

Solution? You kill some time in PvP, die, get debt, go exemp in SG mode since you can switch on and off between missions for influence or prestige as well as not actually storming to 50, and it helps gel sgs together better.

I'm willing to put some money on the idea that this was a pretty thought on a memo in staff room somewhere at some point.

Unfortunately, much as I enjoy the occasional PvP, there's too much negavity of the whole damned thing that's depressing as a whole and puts me off for while.
  12. Hey everyone! Let's ask Thunderclap if he'd like to control where stalkers land.

    He says [censored].

I [censored] myself whenever someone I'm fighting ends up in a tangle with a pve mob, and I try my best to avoid that, since no one likes debt. But meh, always going to happen.
  13. Like my blaster who has ooooh.....sooo many AoEs it annoys.

Bloody hell, she means it; I didn't see any 'LOOOOOOZL XD XD' anywhere.

I'll mash up those nasty stalkers..

..not really. I think I can scrape Gandrel's kidneys out though.
  15. Hear what you're saying, but is it just me or do high level blasters tend to be respeccing in defence and stuff, trying to avoid aggro from no more than 2 mobs?

Just not fun for me, regardless of the status effects raining down at the high end.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
I forgot what the total hp of a blaster is at (example) lvl32, but i dont think 100hp is 5% of his health. As quite a few mobs can blow 40-60% hp instant off a blaster, i rather see myself fullhealth all the time making defiance totaly obsolete.

    [/ QUOTE ]

100 hp is probably a bit high, not sure where I grabbed the figure from...possibly...made up...

Other inherents you don't have to worry about, they just work along with your ATs role, the problem with Defiance is that it is requires dying all the time to be effective, or severely pushing yourself or asking the defender not to heal you...it's too fast paced for that. I have recently at 35+ been continuing to fight more when my health drops enough and it has worked a few times, but would be nice to know when to time an attack like thunderstrike or total focus.
  17. I have Stealth running normally. If I don't want to fall over lots, I'll fly to the back and nuke the culprits doing the knockbacky wacky action. If it's a mob chasing me, Thunderclap them or Hover.

    You don't need Fighting.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
I'm elec/elec and have lots of melee attacks, snipe, thunderous blast and two holds, as well as CJ and acrobatics. I actually love my secondary and think the primary is weaker. I used to rely on endurance drain for some protection, but that's useless until i7 at least.

Couldn't fit Medicine in, though, and I don't have Fitness at the moment. It forces me to get into melee now and then to use Power Sink, but I want to get there anyway due to all my best attacks being melee. It's not a solo build, really, but sometimes you end up soloing anyway. I feel it does reasonably well in teams, so at least that's good.

I do try to pull when I can and that does work, it's actually just groups with bosses in them that are trouble and tend to force me to use hit and run tactics.

Everybody mentions inspirations, so I'm going to try using them more. My other toons tend to rely on drops but maybe it doesn't hurt me to actually buy some

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have an elec / elec as well. I disagree with the comment that end drain is useless, since I'm building my blaster to be an end drainer too - Thunderous Blast might not do the damage or the fireworks as Nova or Inferno but I can drain the life out of everything up to reds, when used with a blue pill afterwards and then using Power Sink when they're spazzing out then Short Circuit. Trust me, they don't have any end left, but I do. Cue electrical melee doing it's work.

That's a bit situational, but I solo on Tenacious, and for mezzing (though I never normally solo) I Telsa Cage / Snipe the minions with mind banging attacks, or use a break free. Then AoE and run in with everything, ThunderClap is useful for crowd control as well.

Generally a good wind blowing in your direction helps too
  19. Meh, blasters are always going to be taking damage to an unbelievable extent. I was thinking a bar that increases with the amount of mobs you've pulled onto yourself (17, same with Tanks, which would be a life saver) but that seems a little biased, or one that scales a bit better to your health diminishing.

But what I really really really want:

Domination style light show when it does go to Defiance.

Give us some sort of visual cue when we hit 100hp or below please.

Note; regardless of duels, I will always be there for a solid bashing, anytime. I might even win!

    goofing off

So, what have we learned kids?

On the technicality of it all, yes, you're right. Duels are at risk in PVP. Badge hunting in PVP is at risk, and yes, you're right, it's free for all PVP goody ness.

    Yes um. Technically.

Instead of spouting the rules over and over, just remember that sometimes it's good to respect other players. I've asked other players if they're AFK, stopping myself just after a Build-Up and ready to attack.

From a hero standpoint - should you really be so ruthless? From a villian sideview - aren't you being cowardly? Duels in PVP zones are in the moment things, I don't mind others jumping in if they aren't aware, but not intentionally.

Showing respect to other players and 'manners' (wouldn't call it that really - it's still resulting in fights) isn't wrong.
  22. Just sodding try it!

    Blaster motto, it never fails
  23. We were doing this a lot in a trial this evening. I was the second highest level there with my blaster.

One of the team - the Defender, no less - crashed. Failed to log back in. Uh oh!

Unless we had access to Vengeance when one of us couldn't kill the Freakshow Tank quick enough (normally me) or staright after the other blaster Nova'd (also resulting in a few bobos) - we wouldn't have been able to have the Damage Output to be taking down self reviving +2s and +3s.

We were a decent team, we weren't trying to exploit the game, only use the power to jump right back into a heated fight (despite the debt, this was the most fun I've had in a while, especially when it degenerated into swearing and insulting the Freaks) - the tank being -2 could only do so much being a Stone (although he took my Reactor Coolant Pack, since he could stand next to the core at all times, even without a sheild) while the rest of us, a couple of blasters, a mind/empath troller and a sk'd Scrapper fought like dogs at all times - even using the SG Base option straight after deaths to rush right back into Terra.

My point? Nerf if because a few sad people have 2 PCs and 2 accounts?
  24. Not for much longer though. Leaves other option open though - wouldn't your AR / DM corruptor be useful with flight Stalk? Holding/slowing could be devasting with AR from above. Maybe.
