Quote:Just to give you an earmark, I had a Pentium 233 about 11-12 years ago. A 166 would be a 12-14 year old bit of tech.
Similar time frame for the 10-based T being consumer upper end-ish.
Thanks Rajani.
I get it now. I've made snarky remarks similar to the OP's only I used terms like TRS-80, because those were what I remember from school. (god I'm old)

Quote:You should edit it back, because now you're wrong. Read the OP a few more times. If need be, look up Pentium 166 and 10baseT. Between the topic, describing his experience as "worthless" and the weak attempt at geekslam, I'd say he was belligerent.
I'll just have to take you at your word Lemur, because when it comes to computers I admit the software/hardware speak is all gibberish to me. That lack of understanding is why I didn't take what the OP said as belligerent. I thought it was merely venting. That and he only made two posts. I thought he blew off steam and left. -
Quote:Okay then, what do "they" say about the size of a woman's rep-metre?
Drat, reached my cap for giving out rep for the day. Oh, well, I'll start again manana.

I don't know.
Every time I try to find out I get a slap in the face.
Or a knee to my groin.

Quote:But still not properly underground

Plus, Faultline also thows in the fun of trying to work out how to get to the other side of the dam
Don't forget the joy you feel when you find out the mission entrance your trying to get to is actually in the ruins of the SG base and you have to backtrack to one of the two SG entrances. -
Quote:I'd have yanked you back into the green, though, C_A. And love the banner.
To which the solution is to rep me to a higher rank! ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!

You know what they say about the size of a man's rep-metre . . .
*looks at Dark's rep-metre*
I think I have rep-metre envy.

Quote:It's still not exactly a much visited zone

The chances are still pretty high that the first unusal mission door a new player will encounter will be in Faultline.
I'm not claiming Perez is frequently visited.
I personally love Perez, and Faultline but absolutely hate The Hollows and Skyway and I'll go out of my way to avoid those two zones.
My original intention was to just add that there was a lower level zone than the two you mentioned that had mission entrances that were hard to get to.
-
Quote:That technique doesn't always work in Perez. You can easily miss the path you were supposed to take while watching the yards count down and find yourself staring at an wall of trees that you can't go around or jump over. Not everyone has the vidiotmaps patch that reveals the maze under the trees. Not underground, no - you just follow the arrow, and once the yards count down to 0, you'll be right in front of the door.
In Faultline, you can follow the arrow to 0 yards and be standing out in the open with no visible doors near you.
The maze in Perez can be considered underground because there is no way to get under the canopy of treetops except at certain locations where theres an entrance so flyers are forced to travel under the treetops. -

This is what happens when people jump straight into the AE instead of doing regular content and learning basic game mechanics like how to get to mission entrances.

Quote:Fail.
At numerous times there were freezes at virtue confirmed by entire teams, no exceptions, and many people saying the same thing with help and broadcast.
Just because some of you were not online during those or at different servers does not mean anything. He may be experiencing issues at his end but these are so widespread that they just gave the players ANOTHER double xp weekend.
These flames would not be here if the OP was not belligerent, but it does not make them more credible.
I'd just like to take a moment and say that the OP wasn't being belligerent. That attitude came from another poster. The OP isn't responsible for what the other person said.
Edit. fixed typo. mispelled wasn't. Forgot the n't
2nd Edit: It appears I may have been wrong and the OP was acting belligerent. I withdraw my opinion based on Lemur's more comprehensive computer knowledge. -
Quote:I'm not sure why allowing my characters who have not yet redeemed their 33 month vet reward to choose an Assault Rifle, Grenade Launcher etc, would cause your pre-existing characters to lose the use of their Nemmy Staves or Blackwands....

How does giving me something cause you to lose something?
Because that isn't how vet rewards work. You are in effect saying to the players that have more than 33 months vet rewards that they aren't entitled to an assault rifle or grenade launcher on their pre-existing characters because they have been loyal customers longer than you have.
Not gonna happen.
In order for your idea to work the devs would have to yank all the temp powers for the modified vet reward and then allow ALL the eligible players to rechoose from the new list.
Unlikely that this will happen.
Having new temp powers to choose from as a future vet reward?

Quote:This point here is where your problem lies. Your not thinking. You are just assuming that the difficulty the OP experienced is somehow on NCSofts end without any evidence to back it up.
I don't think so.
Here's some advice. Take a deep breath. Count to 10, and stop jumping to conclusions. Cutting down on your caffeine intake is probably a good idea too. -
Quote:Please quote the posters that were hostile and insulted the OP. The only person overreacting in this thread is you.
yes it would be nice, but i see you've already been flamed! i understand there is a trust issue to do what others have suggested when your plan prevents theft and gms getting involved and all the bad things associated with a transfer. -
Quote:Your wish has been granted. The feature you want was named the Mission Architect, and there are AE buildings in almost every zone. You can use it to run level 50 missions all day long.
I still think it would be nice if 50's had something to do in every zone. I once recommended that for 50's only, that Radio/Paper missions work in every zone. In essence, a 50 is flagged as a global power, in effect has become a global force and there's a need for her in every zone. If that implemented it would atisfy me, but the idea didn't draw much interest. -
Quote:And this one sentence explains why your idea will NEVER be put into the game. The only purpose of this idea is to harass/grief other players, and the GM's ban people for that.
It gives some players a chance to exact revenge on player that they don't like or can't get along with.
Thank you for shooting down your own idea. -
Quote:This. It's not enough that you can already transfer wealth to other characters of yours?
Let's see:
Same Faction, any server: Use the Market.
Either Faction, any server: Get another player, via the forums. (Cross-faction may cost a conversion rate, but the service exists.
Either Faction, Same Server: Grab someone off of a Global.
Same Faction, Same Server, Same SG: Toss valuables into SG Bins, log onto other character and grab it out.
Also:
In this game, any character can be monetarily self-sufficient, so there is no need for a character to have a sugar-daddy in order to be equiped with good enhancements.
I understand that other games don't work like CoH in that respect, but that's thier problem, not ours.
And why would one of your characters benefit from the efforts of some other hero they've never even met?
It's so easy for an individual character to get rich in this game that the OP's idea isn't even a minor QoL anymore, it's trivial. -

[quote]Tell that to every Peacebringer around. Or Manticore (taps into the med teleportation system.) Or to a bird. Natural does not mean "Natural human." Nor does it preclude one from using other technological means (jet boots, piston boots,) magical (winged boots) or the like for "a little help" while the rest of their powers - the core of their abilities - are "natural."quote]
I always find it funny when people trot out the "Natural Origin" argument to try to justify their desire for vehicles.
Vehicles fall under Technology/Science. I've never heard of a woman giving birth to a car/jet/motorcycle. They don't grow on trees (despite the fact that they get manufactured in plants.
) There's nothing "natural" about vehicles.
