So are the choices Blue for Hero and Gold for Villain? Or is it more complicated than that where in a given scenario the heroic choice may be to thwart a resistance plot because the long term repercussions may be evil, and vice versa.

Another thing to remember is that many of those who would quit over this issue have multiple accounts. So if they quit, the company won't be losing one sub per person but 2, 3, and sometimes 4 subscriptions. I myself usually keep 2 accounts active when I can afford it and have had up to 3 active, and I know others have mentioned they have 4 accounts.

With the new email feature you can just send the poor/lowbie the inf and they can buy everything needed when it's convenient and not have to email 1 item at a time.

Yeah. I've never heard of anyone getting a refund. The OP bought the game, and used it. The serial code and time can't be repackaged and sold to someone else. All he can do is cancel his payment plan and the account will go inactive once the time runs out.
And NCSoft held up their part of the contract. It's not their fault the OP has buyers remorse. They offer free trials he could have used to see if he would like the changes in the game since the last time he played.
He made an informed decision and now has to live with the consequences.
But Decorum is right, feel free to contact billing. It doesn't hurt to try. The following info is instructions on how to contact support.
The NCsoft Support Website
The NCsoft Knowledge Base at http://help.ncsoft.com is the place to find answers and contact our support team. Answers to many commonly asked questions are available in our searchable site. Many of these answers will tell you what information to include when contacting support for a particular issue, so you can often speed the process along by sending the necessary information in your initial inquiry.
If the Knowledge Base does not contain the answer to your question, click the Ask a Question tab. Once there, follow these simple steps to submit your question to us:
Enter your e-mail address in all lower case (e-mail address is case sensitive).
Type your subject and message in the appropriate boxes. Populate the fields and drop-down menus and click the Submit Question button.
If your e-mail address is already registered, skip to Step #6. If you have not registered your e-mail previously, you will be taken to a registration screen. Enter the information requested to register your address and create a support account. We respect your privacy and do not share this information with other companies.
Click the Create Account button.
You will be taken to a screen that verifies support account creation.
Click the Finish Submitting Question button
.
You will be presented with a reference number for your submission. A copy of your question will also be e-mailed to you for your records.
Please Note: Your support account login is separate from your NCsoft or game account logins so that you will always have access to support, even if you are having a problem with your game account.
You can update your issue at any time by using the My Stuff tab. For more information about the My Stuff tab, including how to track your current support issues, click the link below.
How does the My Stuff section of the support website work?

Quote:Instead of hiding Dual Origins, how about the store window have tabs for DO's and SO's. Then after that selection, further tabs under each for Origins. From there they can hide the unusable enhancements.Drop down menu at the bottom of the Stores screen, similar to the Hide Missing Recipes/Hide Unowned Recipes buttons.
Hide Dual Origin Enhancements
Why? Because when you go to a store in Talos/IP, these are still sold, which means a lot more scrolling.
Hide Unusable Enhancements
Stores that sell more than one origin type are a pain to scroll through to get to the ones you want. Stores like the Vanguard Quartermasters also have 35/40/45/50 Enhancements, which mean there are two sets to scroll through. Having the option of only usable enhancements showing removes clutter. -

Quote:The only times autolog is suspended is when a character is in an SG base or inside a mission. It always logs out afk players in regular city zones.Or maybe they had to take an important phone call and the game didn't autolog them?
Also notice that I said in notes I make the comment "possible RMTer" and I use the regular /gignore. I don't use /ignore spammer which generates a petition. This is because if I happen to end up on a pug with this person I can then see how/if he participates and change my mind and remove him from ignore and alter my notes.
I can remember changing my mind on three occasions.
Yes. The devs know that when GR goes live most vet players will be there instead of the old zones. Thus even on low pop servers new players will see a busy game.Quote:In any case. Something seems odd to me.
If what Posi said is true and new players are forced to start in Praetoria, what is the point of that if they are primarily pushing GR to old players?
Given the relative small marketing efforts at enticing new players beyond a few promos, would it really matter that much if you forced new players to start in Praetoria?
This is a Role Playing Game. GR allows players to experience the morality issues heroes and villains face in comic books.Quote:I'm still a bit confused about what GR is supposed to accomplish for the game as a whole. That's not to say I don't like what is coming in GR...but if revamping the new user experience is the focal point of the expansion along with side switching, why leave the other 2 possible starting points untouched?
Each starting point is, IMHO, just as critical as the other. Hero, Villain or Neutral. It shouldn't suck to start a new character period.
Where do you get the idea the other two zones have been untouched? The only people that have access to that kind of knowledge is Beta testers. Are you violating the NDA by leaking information or are you just SWAGing (Silly Wild A*& Guessing) about something you know nothing about? -
I've lost count of the number of times I've seen a "the server's are dead" thread where someone says they were standing "under the AP statue" or "near Ms. Liberty" etc. for over an hour and no one invited them to a team.
Now I can't speak for anyone else but when I actually notice that a character is in the same spot for that long in between the missions I'm running, I assume that it's a good chance that account is an RMT site gathering the names/globals of passing players. I 1 star them and make a note "Possible RMTer." Then I /gignore them just to be safe. -
Quote:Sorry about the "deal with it". In hindsight that was harsh. The forums have had a couple of arguments about the Gamestop issue and it's easy to forget that sometimes it's an honest question and not someone looking for an argument. It wouldn't let my multi-quote, so my questions are missing. I had asked if we knew there would be a special promotion at GameStop later when people were first able to pre-purchase from NCSoft. So Forbin is correct that it's not relevant that GameStop had a special deal, but thankfully he(?) answered the main part of my question. If people knew that the "buy it now" deal wasn't going to be the complete edition that would be available later, then yes it was a decision to get access to the powers now and probably have to buy it again later to get the rest of the goodies and not just bad luck.
I had hoped that by answering your main question it would in turn answer the following questions.
It is unfortunate for people that started the game after those announcements and pre-purchase went on sale, because to them it could easily appear that this was sprung on the player base at the last moment, but it's not the case it is just bad timing.
My impression from what I read from Black Pebble's (The marketing guy) announcements is that the Gamestop offer was something that went thru at the last minute. They held off saying anything until they were certain the deal was approved. Can't really blame them for not wanting to get egg on their faces if they hinted that they were working on a deal and it never happened. -

Quote:Ok. I believe that you wouldn't make this up. If we keep following each other back and forth between these threads I'm going to get dizzy.Yep. I had other friends reimbursed (one of them was someone reimbursed from the original global crash, lol) during the 30-day fiasco, but yes, people were reimbursed. One person I know who was reimbursed nearly threw a b---- fit because it was almost a billion and a half inf lost! lol
-
Quote:And as I stated in that other thread, all I can say is we have had different experiences. I didn't get a response on the petition I sent, but since it wasn't much to begin with I admit I didn't bother following up on it. I know they reimbursed people when they nailed us with the 30 day rule they never announced, but this is the first I heard anyone say they got stuff back from that original global crash.Wrong. As stated in the other thread on this subject, three people I know were reimbursed for missing items, so they had to have reimbursed pretty much anyone that asked. Which sets precedence to request reimbursement this time.
Edit: I read Agge's response in the other thread and I'm preemptively trying to stop a response here again cuz I'm getting dizzy. I believe you Agge! HONEST!

Not according to Warkupo's logic. If he likes the the way it looks he should be able to use it on his fire blaster, and if the devs don't allow it . . .
-
Good luck to anyone that was storing stuff in emails. I hope your stuff is there when they come back.
-
I learned my lesson the first time it went down, but there are people out there that insist on using the feature like a bank and I guarantee if anything is lost they will raise hell.
-
Quote:Last time globals went down everything people were leaving in emails was lost. Cross your fingers and hope when they come back your emails will still be there. If not you out of luck. They didn't reimburse people the last time so I'll be surprised if they offer it this time. The Global Server has apparently been coughing up hairballs all evening... would that be why all the emails with stuff I have sent to myself that are well under the time limit are gone, *poof*?
Or did they change the time expiration on emails to 3 days and will tell us tomorrow?
-
I hope you weren't storing anything in emails because the last time globals went down everyone lost anything they had put into emails, and no one got reimbursed.
-
But there were options, and we were informed of them. Deal with it.
Not relevant. We were informed before anything was put on sale in the NCStore that people buying early wouldn't be getting everything that came with the complete edition, and would have to spend more later.Quote:When GR was first available for pre-purchase, was it known that there would be a different special offer from GameStop? -
So how about this compromise. When transferring a character from the test server to a live server the character is stripped of all inf, enhancements, inspirations, merits, AE tickets, recipes, badges, levels, power sets, costumes, factions, and names. That way nothing can be brought over that would unbalance the game or get around pre-release issues.
Don't say anything. Let's see if the OP figures it out for himself.

Quote:Ok. So my assumption was wrong.Found it in the tentonhammer interview, and the language isn't the least bit ambiguous. Frosty's spot on. From Posi's mouth to our ear:
We have this alternate dimension, this alternate earth, called Praetoria. When you first start the game, if youve never made another character, we force you to start as Praetorian, because thats our best new player content; thats our best foot forward.
