Quote:Twilight was written by a woman.Well i can't speak for Twilight because i have nor seen it (although am aware of the derision aimed at it).
You mean guys likeQuote:Re: WW the 70's series, you've only got to watch some of the episodes and it won't be long before you come across a cringe-worthy moment that was so ingrained in seventies filming re: the portrayal of women. Its not intentionally written so... but it was written by guys in the seventies and it just falls prey to it time after time.
Anne Collins (12 episodes, 1977-1979)
Barbara Avedon (2 episodes, 1976)
Barbara Corday (2 episodes, 1976)
and yes I'm aware that the other 15 writers the show had over the years were guys, The point is that you can't lay the blame solely on guys. -

Quote:At least this OP hasn't said he can't afford the subscription because he spends too much on gambling and porn like another thread we had on this topic. Remember this guy?Forbin, don't you recall that other thread? Those loads are a conspiracy and inflated by the Devs.
this game should lower its monthly fee to $9.99 -

Quote:Don't sell yourself too cheaply. Every post you make, you manage to make more and more sense, and appear to be a nicer and nicer guy.
If you aren't careful, you may end up accused of being a good guy.
Mac

Give it time. If you're here long enough you'll stumble across a thread where I come off as a raging <insert obscenity here>. It's a gift I have.

Quote:That would involve things like hiring writers. Creating likable characters. (that includes well developed "villains" you love to hate) Getting rid of that damn shaky cam.Getting the stargate working to travel between Destiny and the Milky Way galaxy doesn't have to be the end of the show. It could just be an evolution. They wouldn't have some of the problems they currently do but I would imagine they'd still want a research team on the Destiny to study it and take stock of whatever it finds. Not to mention someone should probably be keeping on eye on the new aliens.

Quote:One post and we're full-circle back to the ingrained 70's sexism that has had the character in limbo for so long.

(by the way thats not aimed at you Nericus, more an observation of the style of the 1970s show and how.... or if... the character can be moved on from Marston's 1940s origins).
Linky.
Yeah and all the Twits err sorry Twilight Fans are watching that garbage for the Oscar winning performances.
"Ingrained 70's sexism", what a load of BS. -
Quote:Don't you know what the colors mean?I'm quite surprised that Justice isn't at a higher percentage pop than that.
Surprised Face: ------>
Green means a healthy server population.
Yellow means caution the population is low.
Red means Danger! This server is dead!!!
Gray means the server has crashed.
The number of dots have another meaning
1 dot = low
2 dots = medium
3 dots = high

Quote:So play a Mastermind. Problem solved. You don't need to be in a SG to find teammates. Join some global channels. Form your own teams. Don't sit in Atlas Park spamming lft in broadcast. As an on and off again player, I would like to take a look at the idea of "Heroes for Hire". Sometimes I can be on for hours looking for a group or another player to team up with. Life for me is such that I am not on as much as Supergroups would like - so I get booted from Supergroups for attendance.
I think this could add more content to the game as over ones career players associate themselves with Longbow, the PD, Midnighters Club and so on. Lets say you had the ability to give orders to the NPC like in Neverwinter Nights: Stay close, only use missiles, run instead of fight that Vahz horde.
Lets say you can hire more than one? Lets say when you go down the Hired Hero has "one" awaken they can give you?
No AI isnt the greatest - but it beats sitting around for hours or plinking away at mobs you can handle but takes forever to take down or make headway.
This game doesn't need hirelings/lackeys to play the game. -
Oh look in the time it took me to write my post even more people have logged into the game.

Our servers are far from dead. -
Quote:You obviously have no idea what you are talking about.I havnt played but once on my old account but ive notice the game is kinda dead

This is busy for a Sunday morning.
There are plenty of F2P games out there you can play. Don't let us keep you here. We don't mind if you want to play them. None of them compare to the awesomeness that this game has.Quote:of course there are player here and there but i think there should be a free server it would make them game more popular and i choose in a free user and a prem well this is all i am saying i dont know if i want tot really p2p i mean buying the disc is one thing then paying to play the game i mean come on kinda stupid
You may have the luxury of having a large disposable income you can throw away on microtransactions, we don't.
We don't want to pay out the nose for the updates we currently get for free.
We don't want gated content that you have to pay for to play because we are on free accounts.
We don't want to have restrictions on how much wealth we can have because.
We don't want to have to pay real money for inspirations like other F2P games charge for their equivalents.
We don't want to have to pay real money for temporary powers like other F2P games charge.
We don't want to have server queues that make free players wait to log in while subscribers go to the head of the line.
We don't want to have to pay real money to unlock powersets or archetypes that we now get for free.
We don't want to have to pay real money to form a Supergroup.
We don't want to pay real money to build a base.
We don't want to pay real money for places to store ingame items.
We don't want to pay real money just to be able to change our costumes.
Furthermore we don't want to be flooded with tons of RMT spam from scum sucking companies trying to steal even more money from the player base.
Players on free accounts end up paying a lot more than the subscribers do on those games that offer "free" accounts. Free accounts are an illusion. Everyone always ends up paying more for the damned microtransactions each month than they would have if the game stayed subscription based. -
Again not likely to happen for the very reason you described. Instead the audience is going to have to suffer thru episode after episode of bad scripts until the show finally dies off.
-
These new aliens could probably help with that but it's unlikely that it will happen any time soon since that will end the show.
-
They already tried that and it almost destroyed the ship. They were lucky Rush convinced Telford it was too late and stopped the dialing sequence after Telford fled like the cowardly dog he is.

Quote:I don't think it should be the swear words that get you in trouble but how you use them. In a joking context, you can be obviously joking and no harm intended while asking "what the **** are you doing jughead". On the flip side, you can skip the swear words and call someone an idiot to the point of verbal abuse without a single swear word.
Some people can't tell when others are joking using just our ingame chat boxes. A voice channel like Ventrillo lets us hear how things are being said but most people don't use them. -
Quote:Even if Stargate Command does find another planet that is suitable, and builds a facility that can safely establish a wormhole without blowing up the planet, that means they can only resupply the Destiny.Of course, even if those planet types are exceedingly rare. The number of planets that inhabit a given galaxy make it a statistical probability that there are going to be hundreds or even thousands of them. Needle in a haystack.
The Destiny doesn't have the power to dial back, and it doesn't have the resources to search and build another base that can dial Earth. It's highly unlikely that if they did find a planet that far out that it would have been seeded with a rudimentary stargate, and the shuttle they have isn't big enough to move a lot of the materials they'd need to build a facility to tap the planets core. Also if the planet doesn't have a stargate, where are they going to get one? The one in the Destiny is too big to fit thru the doors.
Are they supposed to run an extension cord from the planet up to the ship in orbit? -
Quote:No actually it isn't. I could have easily left that SG to sink. I choose to remain a loyal caretaker until the founders return. The character holding the leadership position is one I retired years ago.A virtually dead SG with resources to indulge whatever base-building whim strikes you is meaningless in terms of loyalty.
Several places actually. Virtues Caperadio and several small SG's on various servers, the Paragon Expeditionary Fleet and the Arachnos Armada in that sci-fi MMO run by this games previous owner, The AMLA on a certain fantasy MMO based on Gygax's work, Decretum Caedo Angelus on one of NCSofts fantasy MMO's, and there's three other MMO's I play in where I don't have any group affiliations.Quote:You are a landlord (for free) but where do you spend your TIME and with whom?
I didn't denigrate you for the people you choose to spend your time with. I was disparaging your complaints about people PvPing in PvP zones. You've been here long enough to know that there are servers where PvP is virtually non-existant and you will be hard pressed to find anyone looking to gank you when you want to get the PvP temp powers and rewards. You've chosen not to play on those servers. There are consequences to that decision and now you have to live with them. The PvP players are not doing anything wrong. They are playing the game as it was intended to be playedQuote:I was just replying to your disparagement of my choice in where and with whom I spend MY time.
There's nothing in those zones that you can't play the game without. -

Quote:I disagree. The only "criticism" he's received is about how he tried to blame the failure of all the other threads on the people that pointed out that the devs have flat out told us they won't consider total/ultimate respec suggestions. And I get the feeling that people are slamming this OP as the same as all the other badly thought out suggestions that have come in the past. I saw them too. And this one isn't actually bad. In fact, it's pretty decent.
No one has made any personal attacks. Even Sharker and Je_Saist have been restrained. I think the worst thing said was my stating using badges as the reason for change was lame, because making unique badges account based is much easier. And that was intended to be directed more at the previous threads than the OP.
Edit: And for the record, I have at least one character I'd love to do a total respec on if I could, but I understand why the devs continue to refuse the idea. -

Quote:Who cares if they can act. You think it was the acting I was interested in when I watched Wonder Woman back in the 70's?We want people to actually watch the show.
None of the three have proven they can act. Dushku has been given the lead role in a TV show more than once and none hung around for that long. Hell, backed by even Whedon, Dollhouse lasted two seasons and even the second season felt like a gift.

I have a gif or her running but with the new forum rules I don't want to get the mods mad at me. -
Yeah I am totally disloyal and untrustworthy.

That's why when I inherited this SG I kicked all the members and took everything for myself. Oh wait there are people in my SG that haven't played in almost 550 days. I must be keeping them because if I went under 15 members I'd lose the prestige bonus. I must really need that free 300k.

Yeah that 300k will put a huge dent in the 28 million the SG has in the bank. Oh and look in the corner there that's two dimensional vortex's They cost 5 million prestige a piece. Where will I ever find the money to pay rent.
Yeah loyalty isn't one of my strong suits.
-
I always find it funny when people use unique badges as justification for wanting to redo the respec feature when it would be a lot easier to for the devs to make the unique badges apply to an account rather than individual characters.
Badges are a lame excuse and no one is falling for it.
