fly gives you a to hit debuff, hover doesn't.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That was changed a while back. No acc debuff on fly now, it just drops to hover speed for a few seconds.

Group Fly still has the -acc penalty though.

Btw, it seems possible for heroes to be in coalition with villain groups and hence maybe enter each other bases as villains or heroes? Anybody tried this out?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep, although you can't attack each other

Although we did steal all their toilet paper!!

    PC Zone Pictures

    Yay for Black Dwarf Mire

Hmmm I can't remember but did they ask us all to fire off our powers? Or did I just kick off mire at exactly the right moment

I remember killing the PC-Zone crew more than a few times
  8. I think Dark primary suffers as it was originally just a Defender Secondary. Always wanted a 'Dark Blaster' though and now I've rolled a Dark/Rad and it's lots of fun (even if I have skipped some of the Rad powers for now.)

Sure it's not got the highest DPS, but the sets strength is in it's debuffs and AoE effects. Tenebrious Tentacles, slotted for acc debuff, are a good way to sideline a whole group of mobs while you pick them off (or your team does.)

Moonbeam is THE best blaster snipe I've ever used (and I've used them all )

I think I'll be slotting my primary blasts with 1 acc, 2 dam, 2 acc debuffs and a recharge. Add in 3 slotted stamina, 3 slotted hasten and AM from the rad set (plus the debuffs from RI and EF)...nasty!

    Power Choices

Just wondering how people have managed to fit in their powers?

I'm claws/SR (stop laughing!) and am currently level 11. I've got two powers from my secondary (focused fighting and senses) 3 attacks (including AS) and Combat Jumping.

I'm guessing 12 is Placate, 14 is SJ, 16 is Practised Brawler and then 18-22 the fitness pool.

Which doesn't leave much more space for secondaries.

Is placate something I can leave til later?
  10. I thought that Lava (and fire) was treated as an 'enemy' for game purposes that has a moderate DoT attack.

Hence the game equates it to something which will unhide you.

We've all seen Phantom Army or Statesman go nuts attacking lava before...

I agree that it shouldn't unhide you though.
  11. Yep haven't noticed the debuff graphic in CoV. It works in CoH though.

Mind you in CoH my human form peacebringer attacks don't bring up the debuff graphic but the combat log still says I debuff their defence. Maybe it's the same.
  12. The mission rewards are higher in PvP zones too aren't they?

    Offsets the increased risk.
  13. I don't like Hero vs Hero PvP, it just feels wrong and goes against the 'ethos' of CoH/CoV. It works somewhere like the Arena but Warburg - as a concept - seems not to fit.

On the other hand, Hero vs Villain PvP is really good fun and it fits right in with the games concept. Even if the villains end up fighting exemped level 50s all the time

The other thing about PvP is that it can (although not always) bring out the worst in people, the 'trash talk' can go too far and people can get blinkered onto their rankings. That's human nature though and is unlikely to ever change no matter what game it's in.

TG is right, you don't have to do any missions in a PvP zone and the game will never force you. It's like the Hollows. Go chat to the contact and then forget about the zone if you wish.

At the end of the day it's down to each player to do what they wish. One day....one day I'll get to see beyond the beach in Warburg without being ganked
  14. I'm there...should be able to get to 18 possibly 19 by then.
  15. Surprisingly the villains can hold their own, even against the massed ranks of overpowered autoexemped heroes

...chasing down the gankers from Launch/Code zones.

Really? Hmmm somehow I can't see how that would work...

So the story about having to bathe in Vazhilok puke is a myth then?

Totally. You have to SHOWER in it
  19. Hey everyone.

We're currently looking for new SG members across all levels. Whether you're a seasoned veteran of Paragon or a fresh faced new hero taking your first steps around Atlas Park, you're welcome to say hi

    We have three SGs:

    The Contingency
    The Last Stand
    The Last Stand Cadets

Why three? We've found that we would have filled up quite quickly if we kept to one SG! So we spread our members out by level into different SGs, but they are all in coalition so it's easy to stay in touch and when you outlevel the cap in one SG you move up to the next automatically.

A little about us: We're a long established, rapidly growing family that takes pride in it's members enjoying themselves and having fun. We have alot of active players across most of the level range and regularly run TFs/Trials/Respec teams as well as other more 'out there' events

So how do you join? Well that's easy. Come team with us! If you're interested you can either pm myself or any other TC/TLS member through these forums, visit our website at The-Contingency.com to say hi or just stick your thumb out when passing in game

While as a rule we don't just randomly invite people, an evenings teaming with a few of our members is all it takes...mainly so you realise what you are letting yourself in for

If you want to know anything not covered here then by all means pm a TC/TLS member or grab one of us in game.

Now the science part: We ask that all new members sign up to our forums within 7 days of joining. You'll quickly find that it's our main hub for arranging events, requesting assistance and generally talking all kinds of insanity.

Finally - You may have read things about the contingency, or you may have heard things about the contingency. All I can say to that is come and find out for yourselves. We really don't live up to the rumours
