Yeah i totally agree it must be a text error.
I think what it should say is that the power itself is more accurate; incidently its exactly the same with ninja blade. Slash (or the equivalent in the other stalker power pools) definetly seems to hit more than the other 2 dmg powers you get at low lvl.
Yep haven't noticed the debuff graphic in CoV. It works in CoH though.
Mind you in CoH my human form peacebringer attacks don't bring up the debuff graphic but the combat log still says I debuff their defence. Maybe it's the same.
Oh i forgot to say that the icon for the power also features a dropping shield - so I dont think that it is just a typo.
I will also look to see if the combat text mentions the debuff
Maybe the effect will be more obvious at higher levels when there's a chance to put in som SO enhancements.
Well I hope that is the case because its the plan I'm working to on my attack cycle
Well looking in the text entry after I hit something it does indeed state that defense has been reduced... however now I am coming up against tougher opponenets I have not noticed an increase in damage after multiple attacks (having started with the slash).
So I yet remain to be convinced that this power is working correctly.

If it reduces the defense of a mob, that makes it easier for you to hit.
For an increase in damage, it would have to decrease the resistance of that mob.
You might not notice it because the DEF debuff is small - I don't know what the size of the debuff is, or its duration. Sorry.

Ah - read the power description again and - yes i agree with you... I will look to see if this is the case.
I have a claws/regen stalker which i am now growing to like alot - however I have noticed that the slash power does not defense debuff as indicated in the script
"You perform a Slash with your Claws, dealing a good amount of damage, but with a longer recharge rate than Swipe or Strike. This attack can reduce a target's Defense, making him easier to hit. Damage: Moderate,"
Not once have i seen this power inflict the dropping shields on a mob which has been hit. Has anyone noticed this effect?
I have raised this as a bug but have not heard any real response about it and i am now getting fed up with this lack of feedback.
