On the other hand, one of the zone loading tips says "www.Paragonwiki.com has great background info on the NPCs and enemy groups in the game." I'm not sure where NCSoft would stand on adding a link in the updater.

Well, I think in the case of Dark Servant with Chill of the Night it would count, since CotN is a PBAoE auto power for DS. Place fluffy where you want him, and CotN is there, by default.

Hey, GG: have you ever used Google Image Search with the SafeSearch filter off?
  10. Oh come on, zachary!

Surely you visited the EU forums before the merge? Midnights was one of you guys across the big pond! Admittedly, he's left the game and development of his program has been handed to other people, but I'm surprised you've never heard of it
  11. Oh, I didn't realize Culex included mez; I thought it was damage resistance only. Good to know!

Not really. Freedom just has more of everything (except RPers, who focused themselves on Virtue). Freedom has more players, more PvPers, more nice people, more ********, more catgirls, more hideous mutant cthulhu worshipers... more everything.
  13. Windowed mode is possible (It's in the resolution drop-down list). Windowed mode in an undecorated window (no window borders) is not possible.
  14. I admit that I've been bitten by this (tried to join a friend on their lv45-50 Ouroboros arc using my lv41 Tanker), but I also don't really think it's necessary.

It's a technical possibility. Much more so for the dev team than the community, though. (A community-developed costume creator would have to first interpret the model structure used by the game.) And I doubt the devs would spend time on such a thing because...

On the other hand, it's a legal nightmare as far as I understand. They made a separate costume creator for the Korean version of the game, but nothing over here, and the Korean version was never updated. Ever wonder why?
  17. /emote none will remove your current stance and set you to the default (cycling) stance as well, instead of standing rigid.
  18. In the general case, "robots". I don't know of any list of critter protections from status effects that you could look up, unfortunately.

Exactly this. People aren't kicking you off of teams because you're less than the best, they're kicking you because they're ********.

The frequency you see of various powersets comes from two factors: (1) "new shiny!"; just about everyone who has prepurchased Going Rogue will be playing their new Dual Pistols Blaster/Defender/Corruptor these days. Because it's new. (2) Min/maxers like to build the best of the best. While there's rarely a best powerset for every situation, there are sets which people consider to be not worth their time.

Anyone giving you **** for your build is just an idiot. Unless you intentionally try to make the worst character possible, you can do (or join a team for) just about anything in the game. Some things outside the scope of "normal" (soloing AVs and GMs, for example) requires a specialized and focused build. Competitive PvP also requires similar focus, because if you don't put in that focus, you opponent will, and you'll lose. But for the most part, you're fine. It's the other people you're talking about who are just being dicks.

  21. Holsten Armitage is generally the easiest way to find Rikti. If you've already done his mission, Crey's Folly contains Rikti. In fact, I think there are large groups of lv31 Rikti monkeys on the rooftops near the entrance.

  24. Yes, this feature is already available. CityOfHeroes.exe -project "coh" will skip the updater, and launch with the hero skin. Of course, you must run the updater if there's an update (you can't get in if your client is the wrong version), but if there's no update this will work fine.
