  1. I agree and support all that Vicious_Altitis said, and...I would just like to add:

If Lord Recluse does not get a single point of damage on him, chances are he will not spawn Banes, and if he does, he might only spawn 2 - 4.

This is very important, as the second time a team reached Lord Recluse with me, I was putting on the accolades when I accidentally hit the Crey Pistol, he took damage, then eventually swarmed me with 10+ Banes.
  2. Hm, other MoSTF guides I read were not too good, in my opinion, but this one is great. The Master notes are pretty much the same I followed when I was attempting the badge. The overall guide is concise, thorough and well written overall (no immediately detectable mistakes).

Also, just as a note, my two "ideal" MoSTF teams are as follows.

    One or two Tanks, Illu/Sonic, Illu/FF, Illu/Rad (1 or two), Illu/Kin, Illu/Emp.

    OR

A Tank, Warshade (Tri-form), 1 Sheilder (Sonic or FF), 2 Debuffers (Rad. Em. or Dark M.), Empathy (Controller or Defender), The other two can be anything, but having at least one damage dealer helps a LOT.
  3. Heheh, yeah...I ate a heck load of inspirations during the Recluse fight with my Fiery Tanker...actually, I was falling asleep and Recluse ran right up to one of the squishies, but I managed to taunt him a second before, so he ran back.

After getting the red and yellow towers down he's really not that difficult to handle with a good team.

First, you may want to specificy whether it's heroes or villains in the title.

Hm, a reasonably good job and probably helpful for players that would like to level quick, experience the game, earn badges AND have fun without PLing.

Also, and you will see this in my notes found under, sometimes you do expect more of a person than they can handle following your guide precisely.

I just had a few comments that readers of this guide may want further opinion on:

(About Manticore's TF) This isn't the easiest of Task Forces though, so be careful. Lady Grey is a very powerful person

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, Manticore is one of the most fun task forces, even with a completely random PuG, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

    [ QUOTE ]
(About Numina's TF) this is possibly the hardest fight in the entire game. Instead of fighting an Arch Villain or something like that, you are going to be fighting a Giant Monster.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Next to the STF this is probably the hardest fight in the game? Not even close (search up Hamidon ) and plus, as everyone should be between level 35 and 40, almost any powers you would want (save APPs), Monsters should be as much of a problem as any other AV. Next, it's not a Giant Monster (which is leveless, and will always be purple to you) it's a Monster, which has levels, but unfortunately no one in the TF will be high enough to view it as anything other than purple.'

    [ QUOTE ]
Dr. Quarterfield's Task Force. This IS the longest task force in the game and will take all day,

    [/ QUOTE ]

People have said that this takes between 10 and 13 hours, but in reality, even with a poorly assembled team (as most of the time you will not find many willing to do this), this will take no more than 7 hours (still a while ) but I have done it in less than 5 and I have had reports of it being done in about 3 and a half hours.

    [ QUOTE ]
You are going to need a Stone Tanker, though Invulnerably or Willpower Will work, you will need a Radiation / Radiation Defender, and the more FireKin's the better, though any good Controller will work just fine. Remember, Radiation will stack up, so if you have three characters who can radiate, all the better. Other than that, you shouldn't have very much trouble. this is the most difficult badge in the game to reach, so you will probably have to do it several times before you will finally get it, but still finish the TF if you are more than 2 missions down, the IO and HO Enhancers at the end is always worth it, and you should be 49 by now too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah, the stereotypes in this one, be careful with the word 'need', and the whole Radiation or Kinetics thing as well... First, you really don't need a Stone Tanker, an Invulnerabillity or Willpower Tanker either, it can be any Tank, I'm sure many Fire Tanks have achieved it (of reports on Protector, the majority of victories is with a Fire Tanker, and of the 4 or 5 reported team Tanks (this is not the total of victories, just an estimation of the amount of different team Tanks that have achieved this), 2 are Fiery Tankers. Also, in my opinion (my Tanker is one of those Tankers), the absolute most useful player for this badge is an Ill/Sonic Controller, but any Ill/* Controller will be awesome, and pretty much any Archetype will do as long as there are support/debuff/damage dealing/damage mitigating toons it will be a good team, they all just have to listen really well.

Wolf Spider and Blood Widow... Where's the Mu Epic Archetype?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Mu will be the TF-Unlockable Archetype.

    2. Never Set No Enhancements with No Inspirations in same mission.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, on my Tanker, I found the player debuff to be the harshest, no Enhancemet AND no Inspirations following, closely tailed by the Villain buff.

After completing the Medalists badges and the limited deat badges I did the missions like this:

Player Debuff + No Travel Powers (although I receive a heavy debuffs, not having travel powers doesn't handicap me in combat).

Villain buff + Only AT Powers (the foes hit more often and they hit stronger, but none of my temporary/pool powers would help that much).

No Enhancements + No Inspirations + No Temporary Powers (almost as tough as the player debuff, but not quite, meaning that I can sacrifice temporary powers).

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wanted to add, long after I finished the Ouroboros arc badges that No Enhancements *does* become harder to manage than Player Debuff (starting in the high 30s).

In that case, you want to match up No Enhancements with No Travel Powers, the rest can usually be mixed and matched, (difficulty from hardest to easiest, in general: Player Debuff, Villain Buff, No Inpirations)

Search for Frozen Horizon's Guide to Getting Rich Quick, it's good, it was better with the market boom but it still works.

Hope it helps, and good luck!

    A Proc Guide

Definately will be an awesome guide once completed. Good job so far! Hurry up though!
  9. There are several ways of doing this:

    1) Take it easy, hand pick an experienced team. Everyone should have completed this at least once (for best results). Even if everyone is experienced, make sure the leader or Tank lays down all the instructions at the beginning of every level.

    2) Do it hundreds of times, eventually you will get it.

So far, I've attempted it 6 times, haven't got it yet, but we were very close 3 times. It's just practise. The best thing to do would be to choose and ideal team, and try it with them all the time.

An ideal team is as follows:

    Any Tank
    Any Toon (preferably an illusion/Kin)
Damage Dealer, preferably a Blaster with a Snipe
    illusion/Rad Controller
    illusion/Dark or /Rad Controller
    illusion/Sonic Controller
    illusion/FF or Sonic Controller
    illusion/Empathy Controller
  10. I read just the power ratings and such, just a few things I personally don't agree with. Feel free to take in my opinions, anyone who reads this:

    [ QUOTE ]
    Power: Gleaming Blast
    Available: Level 2
    ..
    Rating: 5/5

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm not really sure about this one, you give this more than Pulsar and Photon Seekers, even though (with my Build) they are much greater additions. I have it slotted with Devastation and it's still just barely High damage. More explanations later in my response.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Power: Proton Scatter
    Available: Level 8
    ..
    Rating: 4/5

    [/ QUOTE ]

You also rated this one more than Photon Seekers. Weird to me, when I had this power, not only did it have an unimpressive arc, it's strength was even less impressive comparing to the amount of Endurance it took. I believe it has around the same damage as Gleaming Eyes (forgot the name right now) which is hardly ever enough for finishing anything off, or do any significant damage. You can have a much better attack chain without this power.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Power: Pulsar
    Available: Level 18
    ..
    Rating: 3/5

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm really wondering here. Slotted up, it's an amazing power. Considering most of what any given toon will be fighting is minions and lieutenants, it's definately worth it. And if you aren't, then you're on a team that will stack sttuns. Partially for concept purposes, mostly for the effect. I added a Knockback IO to fit in with the toon (of course it will knock a foe out of range 20% of the time, but there's a possibillity that I'll pull off my next strong attack before it's out of range. Also, Pulsar is up once or more each fight.

Photon Seekers: Not too much to say, maybe 1 out of 50 will not attack an enemy, but slotted they can take out *almost* half a Blaster at level 38 (exemped down to Warburg). I'll also be trying out Soulbound Allegiance on them, to see whether it works or not.

Thermal and Quantum Shields: Of course, Thermal won't be important but as an all human you should have as much resistance as you can get. These allow you to slot in IOs and exploit the sets' effects. Plus, they help much much more late game.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Power: Quantum Flight
    Available: Level 28
    ..
    Rating: 1/5

    [/ QUOTE ]

I mostly took it for concept purposes, as well as a way to Stealth specific things. Also, it's probably one of the best Phase powers in the game. Although hard on your endurance (especially after 45 seconds), it's at the capped fly speed, there's no activation time and it lasts for (15? 30? 0?) seconds longer than any other phase power.

Lastly, Restore Essence: also mostly for concept reasons, but it proves to be a good filler power, and you can always res yourself when you are defeated. Cool "just in case" power to have.

Other than those I mostly agree with your main guide. Have fun out there!

  13. Yeah, and plus, I was getting excited, "A few more months until more Kheldians!!!"
  14. Cimmie must die!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, that is completely false, and even if this is at the top of the first page, it's getting a 'bump'
  15. Heheh. I was on a Faathim the Kind TF a few days back where one of the Tankers kept F10ing "For Cimmarron!". I don't recall the name, though.

Everyone who's cool knows about Cimmie
  16. Yeah I never knew. Thanks for clearing everything up!

    /end sarcasm
  17. Considering the devs stickied this, it's probably something on the drawing board.
  18. Actually no, technically Manticore=Shadow Shard Stories, according to your formulas.
  19. LOL

And nice work everyone, by the way!
  20. You can have them both on a henchman
  21. I agree with most of your Guide. Honestly I found that 3 is the magic number. Two is usually boring, 1 is usually horrid. I've seen good costumes of both types, but they're very rare. Three, usually with 2 dominant colours and 1 for colours in specific area(s) makes a great costume.

Actually, I made a costume with 4 (Gold, Green, Black and White) and I have received compliments. According to the wheel, Gold and Green would have been horrible partners, but because Gold can pair with Black and Green with White, I guess, it has made an appealing image. What do you think?
  22. <QR>
I think this is a brilliant idea. I also believe much more of these backstory power pools should be open. The idea obviously needs tweaks, but nevertheless it is an awesome idea.
