I'm a returning player from way back when. Doing my best to get back into the swing of things, but I live in Australia so my usual play times run pretty contrary to rest of the RP scene. While theres still plenty to keep me amused lurking around in Pocket D, I'd like to see if there are any RP groups about that have members active around the time I end up playing, which is pretty much 7:00 am EST till about 12 maybe, depending on RL.

I'm happy to hear about any type of theme or lack thereof, as I have a whole stack of old characters just awaiting a rename and recreating into something new.

Havent played in ages, since before Going Rogue came out. Looking at starting a new MM to run through the new content and generally tool around with. I have no idea whats good and whats not theses days.

I've already got a bots/storm and necro/ta, both of which are good times but I'd rather not repeat those sets. Beyond that I'll give anything a shot, though I'm leaning towards ninjas or demons just because. Conceptually disparate combos like demon/traps or ninja/thermal are a plus.

Sell it to me, folks

Lich: Friar Tuck
Grave Knights: Little John and Will Scarlet
Zombies: Much, Gilbert and Alan-a-dale


Bots/Storm
Assault Bot: Mechazawa
Protector Bots: Freddie and Gorilla
Battle Drones: Kamiyama, Hayashida and Maeda.

As above. I'm not seeing it advocated as much these days, and can see how the current pvp mechanics would take some of the wind from its sails as it were. Is it still viable as a disruption character, or has it been neutered?

So a friend has made an offer that means I can get a support/disruption toon levelled fairly quickly. I was thinking a thermal, for support in the randomness that is zones and the potential for sapping hilarity in 1 vs 1 set ups.

I'd prefer not to be pure support, a bit of self reliance would be appreciated. As I'm in the dark these days about who's good with what, are there any particular no/yes points for a therm?


any suggestions as to which AT and other set to run with it? Elec/therm corrs, ill/therm trollers, etc etc...


While we're at it, if anyone has any particular support/disruption toons aside from therms in mind that are especially good times, I'm still taking suggestions, just been looking at a therm since I got back.

So I've come back to the game after a 8-9 month or so break. I left around the time DR for pvp came in, and I'm working out how best to get back into the swing of things.


I'd rather use one of my old, already IO'd and leveled to a degree toons rather then start fresh so I thought I'd see what'd handle well. I've been trying them out but my play times mean I don't get as much pvp as I'd like. Looking at casual stuff, zones, duels, a little kickball when I can find it.

I've got:

Em/regen stalker
Dark/ninja stalker
Ice/energy dom
Necro/TA MM

All with some amount of IOing, I don't have the time or patience to play the market.

Also got a Fire/fire tanker and Stone/Inv brute, but not expecting much from them. On the other hand, I hear elec/ melee is good for stalkers in pvp now so I guess a lot has changed...

A few other toons below 50, most notably a mind/elec dom and son/rad corr, but I'd prefer to roll with someone who wont need more leveling.


Any advice much appreciated.

Well, I left the downloader on over night and it seemed to right itself by morning. Looks like it took several hours though. Weird, but done now!

Well, the white world problems may be there too, but I can't get that far. I was playing fine last night, logged off before the servers went down and downloaded the patch this morning before work, though I didn't log in.


Since getting home, the updater sits on "Downloading File Manifest" indefinately.


Nothing else on the computer has been changed.


Any ideas?

Has anything changed? Is the D still full of lesbian futa aliens? Is pvp still hard to find? Is AE still used mostly for farms?

Technically, you could get yourself something like 67ish knockback protection (5 resistance, 5 defense, 5 kinetic crashes, acro). The build I used was a sonic/energy defender. Not much use besides caging, however.

It'd be pretty good for setting up KB spikes of its own too I imagine.
