Different problem from the last patch

Well, the white world problems may be there too, but I can't get that far. I was playing fine last night, logged off before the servers went down and downloaded the patch this morning before work, though I didn't log in.


Since getting home, the updater sits on "Downloading File Manifest" indefinately.


Nothing else on the computer has been changed.


Any ideas?

I've gotten that a few times myself, and when it happens, I have no idea how to fix it since it just decides to start working after closing/retrying it frequently. (Usually happens for me about twice a year or so.)

I wish I had better info, other than "close and retry it, if it doesn't work, try again in a couple of hours".

Well, I left the downloader on over night and it seemed to right itself by morning. Looks like it took several hours though. Weird, but done now!

Go into the City of Heroes directory, and create a shortcut to the CityOfHeroes.exe. Right-click the shortcut and click properties. In the Target after the quotation add [space]-project coh.

It will look like this,

"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project coh

(or for windows 7)

"C:\Program Files (x86)\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project coh

As long as the updater is current, there's not much reason to run the updater every time you want to log into the game.

Just saying.
