  2. Welcome to the boards and the game.

    You're missing a travel power and stamina, you'll want both.

    I suggest dropping the following powers:

    - Seeker drones (some like it, for bots, the protector bots use it)
    - Pulse Rifle Burst
    - Pulse Rifle Blast
    - Photon Grenade (the protector bots use it)
    - Repair (you don't need it since you have triage beacon)
    - Detonator (skippable but fun, I took it)
    - Any or all of your patron powers. You don't need to all 4, just take what you want. For example on mine I like the AOE immobilize like Black Scorpion's web grenade. It's an AOE immob that keeps them in the trap debuffs and immob'd for the bots burn patches.

    Powers to take:

    - Hurdle, health and stamina (you need all 3 and need to 3 slot stamina, hurdle and health only need 1 slot)
    - Hasten and Superspeed (hasten adds 70% recharge when it's running, superspeed moves you around pretty quickly)

    Slotting:

    - Assault only needs 1 slot (end redux)
    - The pets should all have 5 or 6 slots (2 acc, 3 dmg or 3 acc and 3 dmg)
    - Upgrade robot only needs 1 slot (upgrade and equip are buff powers, they upgrade your pets all in one shot). When you play your MM, play with the pet window open and you'll see a little arrow on the right hand side you can click to see all their buffs. This is how you tell whether or not they have been upgraded and equipped.
    - Poison trap works with 2 rech and 2 hold
    - Any powers that cost a lot of end (over 8 or 10) should have an end redux slotted. Most of these powers will be one time end cost powers meaning it costs you end when you use the power. For shields or toggles like assualt and tactics it'll be end per second. .21/s, etc. This is why 3 slotted stamina is required. It keeps your blue bar semi-stable.

    Those are the major things. I'm not sure but http://www.paragonwiki.com might have a good basic primer on this game. Another thing that may help is to join a VG (villain group), get on vent and before long you'll get up to speed on the game, the powers, how things work, what the numbers mean, etc.

    I think it'd be a bit too much to talk about IOs right now but bots/traps is a great combo and I have a fantastic build I'm using with IOs that I'm willing to share.

  4. I'm not saying this because I recently rolled one, I've had one for years but I rarely see anyone talking about it or talking about trick arrow.

    Bots/Trick arrow is some of the most fun I've had with my pants on. And believe you me! I've had a lot of fun with my pants on!

    This combo is almost as much fun as Thugs/Storm. And both bots/ta and thugs/storm make pretty good team pvp toons too.

    So if you're looking for a new project, try a bots/ta. Or if you hate trick arrow, give thugs/storm a shot. Thugs don't complain when you use hurricane or tornado recklessly. Actually the arsonist thanks you, he doens't die nearly as much!

  5. Oh when I do something good it's by mistake so no kudos please and Mega Junkie slotted the proc in Summon Demonlings originally.

    I generally walk around in a daze and sometimes I get lucky.

    I have a demon/dark and I might use a build like this for him.

  8. I think purples are fine in some cases. The more HT, Fearsome stare and Petrifying gaze are up, the better. I made a couple of small changes the most notable is splitting the Soulbound Allegiance 3 and 3 for more HP. I also selected the Villain accolades and you have 1093 HP. That's pretty darn good.

    With the above being said, I agree with plainguy and I made the below changes:

    You could slot Basilisks instead of Unbreakables in Petrifying gaze if you want and save yourself a slot and some money. You could replace absolute amazements with Stupefy and save yourself some more dough without losing much recharge and some accuracy. I don't think you'd notice the loss from the accuracy bonus.

  9. Here are my comments:

    - Take provoke instead of challenge
    - 3 slot stamina. Maybe drop the regen tissue unique and heal IO from health. I don't think you have to worry too much about regen. In reality it'll never be your saving grace. That's what you have Twilight Grasp for.
    - Nice recharge bonus you got going there. Consider dropping recall friend and picking up Hasten. I guess your travel power is going to be Ninja Run?
    - Howling Twilight is a great power. It'd be nice to see that 3 slotted with recharges at least.
    - I wouldn't worry about the regen myself so you may be able to lighten up on the Corruption slotting. 11hp/s regen isn't going to do much for you.
    - What I would recommend is either going for HP as a 2ndary focus or recharge. It might be easier to milk out a bit more recharge. Grab hasten, 3 slot it, 5 slot posi blast in a couple of places, bingo, bango, you're set. But 53% global recahrge like you have now is nothing to sneeze at.

    I like it, it's a good base build. Enjoy it.

  11. The calculation is pretty complex, I have a spreadsheet somewhere and the magic number is 44.5 believe it or not. People just round up.

    You can check the combat logs to see the enemy's tohit.

  13. I think bots are better than demons. They don't complain when you strap a bomb to their backs and blow them up.

    If you haven't tried storm, storm masterminds are lots of fun. I have a thugs/storm and I'm mulling over the idea of rerolling my necro/pain to necro/storm.

    I've tried 'em all though and I have a 50 of everything.

    My favorite combinations are:

    Thugs/Storm
    Bots/Traps (bots over all others because bots are better behaved and tend to stay in the FFG while still dealing out some nice damage)
    Thugs/Dark
    Demons/Dark
    Thugs/Bubbles (or Bots/Bubbles)

    Poison is powerful against single tough targets but can be frustrating to level up, at least in my opinion but I don't think you can ever go wrong with any combination. Just go with your gut feeling. Everything else are just our opinions.

  17. Great thanks, I'm going to change out those generics as you suggest, I think I'm still going to go the provoke route and I want softcapped so 44.5 will get me there.

    I posted the link because that's the build direction I recommend. I haven't tried soloing an AV or GM yet but years ago I recall people doing it and provoke was a big part of it. However I have to imagine if you do go with a softcapped build and keep the bots in the FFG pocket it should work.
