So you've never leveled a character above 30? That's about all levels 30 thrugh 40 are.

To answer your question- grinding is probably the slowest way to make inf in game. Playing the market for a few minutes each day is the fastest. As a simple exercise... I would tell you to find a moderately priced set that you like... let's just say Posi blast. Bid for a reasonable but low bid on each recipe (level 50), but don't just bid on 1, bid for 10. When they fill, craft them. Save 3 and sell 7. You'll pay for the three you keep and have a tidy profit. This is how you start building up a stock of enhancements of sets you are likely to use often (crushing impact, posis, maybe makos, kinetic combats (more spendy), thunderstrikes, doctored wounds, etc.). When you have a stock pile created it makes your future builds a lot less costly since you can just go steal from your base.

Additionally, you could join in for the events that are run on the server and win some prizes! There are usually 3-6 small prizes given out weekly at Hami and there will be well over 5 billion given out at a Victorious Spring Fling (tonight!).
Yes. Looking forward to the CoP tonight! Sue me. I'm a badge *****.

What now you quoted it and said it was true for blue and red side. My reading comprehension is fine you just like to make stuff up to make yourself look good but I call people on their BS. What you said was pure BS. Don't lie you said it go back and read it. It's there I quoted it and there's nothing you can do about it.
How old are you? I've played missions where you have to go solo out side of Praetoria. So I guess I was right after all.

When I listened to the Paragon Market panel at the Pummit, I noticed that the only things people are willing to pay extra money for are character-related. Notice that neither Praetoria access nor First Ward access showed up in the best seller list. The best seller list consists entirely of powersets, costume parts, enhancements, and the "cards" that give a random costume part or enhancement.

Players have voted with their dollars and with their time for less low-level content, less mid-level content. The cash-paying customers want a new character subclass (or class, eventually), or a new costume set, so they can roll new character concepts ... which they then want to PL up into the end-game raids as fast as humanly possible, skipping all of the content up until then if possible. Note, after all, that upcoming releases for the market include much stronger XP boosters, and several-hour substantial self-buff temp powers: exactly what you'd need so that as soon as you get done with Death from Below, you can crank any character's difficulty up to +4x8 and PL yourself through the 20-50 range. Note also that they long ago altogether gave up on stopping the AE PL farms that are designed to get you to level 50 in 8 to 16 hours; Power Amplifiers and Double XP boosts will only reinforce that.

That's not how I play City of Heroes. Right this minute, I have a whole crop of mid 20s, playing leisurely through the mid-level content, which I mostly still enjoy, and a half dozen or so low 30s waiting for Night Ward. But people like me are apparently as much of an unprofitable niche market as the PvPers. Paragon Studios is, arguably correctly, chasing the big money: selling people a wider variety of characters to grind Incarnate Trials with.

(Although, I say with a wry grin, there's very little point in caring what your character's costume is once you get to the end game. On a 24-man raid, the particle-effect smog is so dense that nobody can see your costume.)
Interesting point, if it's all correct. My question is why the race to 50? Just so you can do I Trials? Because grinding those is just as much fun as well grinding anything. It's not.

Yes. I am. And you'd be wrong. I work for one of the 50 largest companies in America. We get weekly, some times daily, up dates as to where we are in regards to goals that are up to 10 years out.

Reading comprehension is not your strong suite is it?

Go back. Read what I quoted and then read my response. It's about blowing past content because it's so easy to level.

So I now have a better under standing of what's involved it raises some more questions.

Primarily... how the heck do you AFFORD all those purples? I'm a casual player. Some of those things I couldn't get in a year let alone multiples of them! I've been popping windfall and running I trials and ITF and still lagging behind. What's the best way, with out being too grindy, to make the big bucks need to even begin thinking about MP's build? Or is grinding the only answer?

Is there a perhaps less costly route? I doubt it as EA, based on this info, is basically crippled in its ability to do anything unless you do min/max.

    Am I being to negative?

This is true Red Side, Blue Side, or Gold Side. Nothing new here.
  12. For a lot of made up BS with no actual facts, I suppose it could be true but it all seems a little unlikely.

Business plan things out in years not weeks. Heck look at the latest interview with Black pebble. He said they know what's going to be on the market, when it's going to be on, when it will be discounted, when new stuff will be added out to 12 months. So no. Pretty much all conjecture with no basis in fact.

I grantee you, despite what Zwill says, they know exactly when they are going to have the Retro Sci-fi set on the market. They don't want to commit in case they miss their target date. Trust me these people, the dev's, all have their projects scheduled to the day if not the hour.

@ Madam P. I think I understand most of that but I'm not sure what the level at the end of each line meens. Is that the level of the IO or the level you take the slot? Also.. six slotted taunt? Really?
  14. As Luca Brasi would say, "May your first child be a masculine child".

I suspect that baby will cut into your I-trial time.

I asked this on the Brute forums but the response was....less than enlightening.

So I come to you my fellow Victorians. How the heck do you slot Energy Aura for brutes?

Then make it a maybe 20-30/30-40 zone, covered in Lava in the middle (a-la the SSA's) Take out the Outcasts short of the random gangs in Steel (Frostfire's trying to be a hero now, anyway). The Trolls retreated to Skyway, The Circle and Tsoo have their own problems to deal with in Dark Astoria.

Now the Minions of Igneous, Coralax (advancing their story) and... the Devouring Earth (trying to 'heal' the damage by destroying everything in sight and taking over) are the main movers and shakers in the zone. Maybe that's why the Coralax started popping up. They knew there was a mystical breach and were there examining it... Meanwhile Longbow and the Legacy Chain are just trying to keep everything contained.

Mayby they could even have Frostfire as an ally or contact in the zones activities, trying to clean up the mess that was his old neighborhood.

One of your missions (off the top of my head) is to prevent the lava from reaching and polluting the Red River, and of course just as importantly, the dam.

    That might be cool.
    I kinda like this idea.

I have an EM/EA brute and the EM stuff is pretty straight forward but I'm at a lost as to how to slot EA. Whats the conventional wisdom on this?

I think a lot of people forget that back in the day it used to be a lot harder to level and the game was designed around a team. Sure certain AT's could solo but the heart of the game was the team. After all the changes to game mechanics that is no longer the case and the older content suffers for it.

Side note: What's the lowest level you can run into Dr. V as an AV?
