Miami 2017 has been listened to a lot tonight.

Getting my main Armorggeddon MKII to 14. Going to Atlas and flying for the 1st time. I was having a bad time personaly then and flying in a game about superheroes with other live people who played heroes too was... well it made me very happy.
I know I'm not really close to anyone here but I'd like to thank you all for the memories. The fights between Voodoo, Hamster, and MG were epic. MP running all the trials, Hami raids. All the guys that have left way before. Hank Rerdon etc.
I will truly miss you all. -
I believe everyones gone. All those TM infringing characters you wanted to make. GO FOR IT!
It's the wild west now and anything goes.
Edit....
Play Shadowrun Online when it comes out next year! -
WTF. Servers going dark November 30th. Seriously. By all accounts this game was doing well. What the hell does NC want? I'm just stunned. I will miss you all. This just blows. I.... omg. The entire staff.... It'll be like 4chan on the forums.

WTF! I am totally outraged! You guys where the best. Somebody better explain this to me in a quick hurry or I'm on my way to Korea to have words.

Quote:FDA? I thought you were in construction?Been busy dealing with injured toe, MSHA and FDA inspections. At this rate, expecting water quality people, ATF, and maybe DOT...
10 percent of my crew is retiring this month.

Quote:Yeesh.
Glad to hear you're doing well, but sorry about the car.
(And no, knowing that you were in mortal danger doesn't really make me feel differently health-wise.)
I've only been ill since the middle of last week. My roommate got a sinus infection last weekend that went untreated and turned into bronchitis, and she's one of those people who doesn't cover their mouths when they cough.I convinced her to go to the doctor by informing her that a bronchial infection is just a step away from pneumonia.
So the day after she goes to the doctor, *I* started getting sick. So I hit up my doctor the very next day and told him about my roommate's illness, but by that point I was so drained I had to come back home and go to bed. To my roommate's credit, though, she actually did a pretty good job of taking care of me while I was incapacitated, including paying for my antibiotics. (Whether that was due to her genuinely caring about me or feeling guilty for getting me so friggin' sick remains a mystery.)
I'm cautiously optimistic that I'll be returning to work tomorrow... not that I'm looking forward to being on my feet for 7 straight hours as I'm on the tail end of this bug.
Good to hear your on the mend. 7hrs on your feet after that kind of illness? Yeah. Good times. -
How long have you been sick? If it makes you feel any better I was almost killed a week ago. Tractor Trailer ran me off the road and totaled my car. I, to every ones amazement, am unscathed.

Not much chatter here so just thought I'd drop by and say high. "High."
Currently spending most of my time on Beta and participating in the big Skulls fight. Not with them, over them. Revamp and all has panties twisted in a bunch.
Read my first Ian M. Banks novel. Booooorrrring. Consider Phlebas. Snoozearama.
Music wise I've been induldging my cheesy '70's side. Currently listening to Moonlight Feels Right by Starbuck. I miss the old days of AM radio you could hear anything. You might hear Johnny Cash followed by Clapton and then something proto disco. Zeppelin and then Manhaten transfer or Starbuck. Weird mix of everything. It all seemed so alive now almost every station is the same 15 20 songs all the damn time. -
Quote:I kinda thought this was one of Dr. Aeon's jobs?I don't want to put the blame specifically on Matt, but I DO believe that the problem is that they don't have a Ree Soesbee on staff; a professional writer whose sole job is to curate the story and expand it (and in the case of Ree is someone with experience at producing episodic content). It seems like they have sort of a communal understanding of the lore, not unlike a sort of virtual Wikipedia, story bible notwithstanding. Nobody really appears to have the job of editing anyone's work.
-
This was an exceptional set of missions. Nice twists and knowing your lore before you start the mission really ramps up the excitement. Lets put it this way, they can't release SSA 2.4 quick enough. Real sense of urgency here.

As far as diversity and gender make up that appears to be up to the RNG. I agree they should put the logo back on but won't be disappointed if they don't.
Basically there just needs to be some dialog stating that the brothers either changed their street names for some reason or the FSBA report was wrong. It happens. Marrow Drinker and what ever could be leaders just not THE leaders and certainly not the brothers.
Besides it's not like there isn't a precedent for villains changing their names. Past Pot Pete springs to mind. -
Some one refresh my memory... Was there this much blood and thunder over the Circle revamp?
-
Quote:Wait. What? Do you meant to tell me there's a plot point in CoH that's kinda major and they didn't do anything with it?! You, sir, are obviously playing a different game than I!That said, the Girlfriends from Hell are not a bad idea, they're just terribly executed. One of Twinshot's arcs - the one which introduces difficulty sliders - suggests that the Hellions don't realise that these women are demons. To them, the Girlfriends from Hell look and sound like any other woman, so when they start chanting arcane rituals and fighting, the Hellions are like "Err... Babe, what are you talking about? What blood sacrifice?" It's played as though these are succubus demons that the Hellions have summoned, who are now using and controlling he dim-witted thugs into doing a much more meaningful, much more sinister ritual of some sort. It's a very engaging plot thread that's simply never done anything with.

I found them kind of awesome. I like the new look for the Family as well.

Quote:So from what I hear Captain Mako's event is just a limited invasion. Is there a badge or can I skip it?Quote:If all you care about is badges then yes you can skip it, however it's not "just" another scripted invasion since the spawns are dev-controlled.Quote:So what do the do differently? Everything I've seen shows them all in a group getting cut down by all the AoEs like every invasion.
If you like invasions I'm glad you had fun. It's not that it's eye gougingly bad I just prefer to do something different.
No offence to the devs. I appreaciate they had to set aside the time out of their schedules to run this or maybe even take personal time. They're good devs. It's just not for me. -
Quote:I'd hate to assume you didn't read mine. However by reading your post it's evident you have not. Perhaps look to your own house first?
So, seeing as how I'd hate to assume you didn't read my post detailing how we didn't just stand still and spam powers, I'll instead have to surmise you simply disregarded it, or worse, found it contemptible.
That said, if you find "standing still and spamming powers" isn't fun, then why are you playing the game? Does "running around and spamming powers" provide enough entertainment for you? If so, that's a mighty minuscule difference. -
Quote:I have experienced invasions before so.... wrong.I honestly can not add more to this than Forbin or Aurora have already other than, Each person's journey is different. Each person has different interests If someone wishes to stand around and spam there powers so be it or if someone like me who wants to enjoy the event and immerse themselves in the game and be a hero.
Either way both are far more interesting than posting on the forums your disdain over a thing you have not even experienced.
Having now experienced it on Victory. Yes... same ol' stand and spam. -
Quote:Umm... that's kinda the point. They aren't. They tell you they aren't. It's just a matter of making room in their schedules to do this. That's it. They are using existing assets. While nothing wrong with that and understanding the limetations of the game and that they aren't coders, I'd prefer they wait. Have a coder put some time in and give us something fun. Standing still spamming powers is not fun. I don't care if 1 out of 10 comments by the dev is funny. Its boring as all get out.No but watching you (and the handful of others) complain while other people are enjoying the event is fun. No matter what the devs do someone will complain about it.
And kudo's to Zwill and the others for all the work they've been putting into these live events.
EDIT
If you look at Aura Girl's last post then you'll see my complaint is invalid. Nobody until then actually answered my question from the original post. In fact most of you said my conclusions were right. It was just standing around spamming powers. Hell AG's discription sounds fun to me but that's not the usual invasion and that was my very 1st question. Even Zwill failed to point out it wasn't the same ol' same ol'. -
So standing in one spot spamming powers is fun for you?
-
I guess my expectations got in the way. Something about the original announcement made me think it would be something other than just an invasion. Also how disappointing theres no badge.
What to do to make them better? Based on what Zwill said I dont know that they can. I appreciate that they are trying to do something but at this point Id prefer a moratorium on invasions or at least keep it down to just the holidays and the ones that can be triggered in game. I guess it doesnt matter I can skip em if I want.
Wait . Objectives. Thats what most of them are missing. Objectives. To end the Nemesis invasions you find the mole machines and destroy them to stop the soldier spawn and then you take down Nemmie. So for this one there are some number of Arachnos flyers in the air and on the ground. Take em out and fight Mako. There timed events so you only have so long to do it to get the goodies (badge, XP, INF, what ever) Yes. Im suggesting no xp or inf unless you win. Now there are stakes. Now theres real motivation to win.
