You know what would be funny? A kinetic defender who doesnt have Transfusion, Speed Boost, Transference or Fulcrum Shift.

Then when a team is all excited that they found a kin and everyone is asking for speed boost, heals or FS you dont have it. Make sure you get Repel so you can send the enemies flying, the tanks and scrappers will hate that. Hilarity will ensue.

Also useless is a Trick Arrow defender. Maybe a Sonic/Trick Arrow defender, because then you will be useless (Trick Arrow) AND annoying (Sonic) at the same time.

Ive recently found a Traps defender to be semi useless. Theyre actually very slow, so when the team is dying around you, you really dont have anything to offer to save the team but to kneel down and try to set another useless trap.

Ok well I made a Kin/Rad defender and worked him up to 33 and now I regret it, I could have made something else lol.

I was wondering if a defenders kinetic powers are stronger than a controllers, particularly in regards to Fulcrum Shift.

If not, then why be a kinetic defender when you could be a .../kin troller and get the same powers but with the added damage of a controllers primary?

I couldnt find any threads on elec/elec scrapper and was wondering if anyone has rolled one and what your impressions are.

I've seen a lot on Elec/Sheilds but not elec/elec.

What is the difference between a Firey Melee/Firey Aura scrapper, and a Firey Aura/Firey Melee tanker?

Im assuming that the scrapper does more damage but is more vulnerable to attacks, and the tanker does less damage but is harder to kill.

When doing a bank mission, after its over everyone always wants to do side missions. Im always voted out lol.
Am I the only one here who doesnt like doing them?

I dont like doing them because they just feel so scattered to me, running all over the place.
Id rather exit and do a new mission

I just ran from kings row all the way to Galaxy with another player so we could set up a battle. we get into the arena and neither of us can figure out how to fight.
I clicked "Create Event" and dont see him on the list.
We stood there for 15 minutes and couldn't get it together, he ended up leaving.

Can you please make it easier to set up a battle for idiots like me who dont know what to click to set it up?
I've been playing this game for 4 years and I never do pvp battling because its so complicated to set it up.

Maybe when players go into the arena you can right click on the player and have a menu option there like "invite to battle" or something.
Something easier, I hate the way it is now.

Im running my first scrapper and he's a level 16 Dark Melee/ Willpower and so far its really fun. Im used to playing trollers so with this scrapper I feel really powerful and strong.

However playing a Dark Melee scrapper is totally different from any defender or trollers I've played, so I'd like some advice on the best ways to play when I jump into a mob. So I can be better solo and on a team.
Sometimes when I attack I second guess what Im doing wondering if theres a stronger/faster combo I can use.

Here are my powers so far:
Dark melee: Smite, Shadow Maul, Touch of Fear
Willpower: High Pain Tolerance, Mind over Body, Fast Healing, Rise to the Challenge.
Veteran powers: Sands of Mu, Blackwand.

Id like some advice on the best combos when jumping into a mob of say 3-5 enemies.

But are the mission completion bonuses as high at -1 as they are at 0?

Im just curious from a mathematical stand point. If I set the difficulty of my missions to -1, meaning the enemies are 1 level lower than me but also meaning that I can just blow through these missions, would I level up faster or slower than if i did more difficult missions but it took me longer to do them.

I kind of like the speed of doing -1's but I wonder if I do it long term how much slower it will be to get me to 50.

Im playing my first scrapper and its spines. I like the toon but I hate all the spines sticking out of him.
Is it possible to not have the spines show? its bugging me lol.

The only reason I didnt think it was overheating is that when it shuts down I can reboot it back up and start playing again like nothing happened.

On my old computer if it reheated Id need to leave it off for a little while before going in and playing again.

I bought a new Dell laptop computer and when I play COH my whole computer will just POOF, shut down with no warning. Im playing the game then its like someone pressed the Off key on my computer.

Im playing a Traps/AR defender and have him up to lvl 27 now. I have to admit it is fun to play, but its not very "defender-y" on a team. I think it would be a killer secondary set for a blaster, but as a defender...eh.
I dont see people being excited when they invite a defender and find out its a Traps defender. I sense groans, like they do with Trick Arrow.

I feel the powerset is too slow and just doesnt lend itself to defending the team too well and i find myself in more team wipes then when Im playing other defender sets. Its slow and awkward to position the traps in the right spots.
Teams are not going to wait a minute for me to plant Trip Mines and Poison traps on each mob.

And also in order to defend the team I need to run right in the middle of a mob and lay my traps, getting me killed or almost killed often.

Twice now I've been on teams where people left to go get their emp or their kin so we would have a better defender than the job I was doing. So I kind of feel a little useless. Ive never had that happen when i was playing a kin.
So because of this I wont be rolling more traps defenders as they are now.

In all honesty it feels like Im playing a defender-Lite. It definitely needs *something*

Some suggestions:
1. Let Triage Beacon recover End as well as Health. Also bump up the health on it. I actually sit in it and watch it as its "recharging" my health and I dont see a big bonus in health, but I have mostly recharge enhancements. Which I need because its so slow to recharge.
An Emp can spam their heals, but a Traps can only offer a little dinky heal that takes a long time to recharge. meh.

2. Let Caltroops cover a wider area
3. Ability to throw poison trap, or shoot it to activate it. I keep getting killed having to run into mobs to plant this trap.
4. Seeker drones should so more damage, or have more than 2 at a time.
5. Trip mine is too easy to interrupt, I would take the interruption away or make it less so.

anyways thats my opinion from playing traps for a little while.

I need to reformat my harddrive and when I do I will need to reinstall COH.
For me, it can take hours to download, so is there a way to avoid this?
I have an external HD, which COH files can I save to avoid a long download? if this is possible.

I got a new laptop and finally got the settings right for one of my characters. I clicked "Apply All".

But when I log in as another character I have to change the settings for them and"Apply", but I always have to log out then back in for the settings to take place. And sometimes they dont apply.

How can I make the screen resolution settings for my 1 good toon apply to ALL my toons?

I just got a new laptop this morning and started downloading COH
its been downloading for over 4 hours now and im up to 917MB downloaded, out of 1.8 gigs.

I did a speed test and I have
10128 kbps download speed
and
9514kbps upload speed

is that good speed? is there any way to do this faster? grrr only half done after 4 hours

I'm looking at laptops and was told here that Nvidia is a good brand to look for video cards. but theres so many brands which one should I look for?
