Ill be happy to have 3 Pets for my Elec/Dark Corruptor.

My original question was basically whether the benefit of the procs would outweigh the lower damage. Werner's input, along with a little number crunching of my own, convinced me to stick with Hack.
Well now that Werner exsplained it to me, it makes perfect sense.

Your right by the way, they only continually harrass me like they have over the last few "MONTHS" because they know they annoy me.

This isn't a 'different' MMO's forum that always acts extremely negatively towards people.
I personally would have been fine witht hat kind of response, but others arnt so happy with giving a short and sweet dissagreement. They have to thread jack or greif.

The way I play, both would be relavent for me.If its not for you, then maybe I could understand as to why that is?
  7. OK, someone just told me that Corruptors get a Shield for S/L def % from a patron pool.

Does it change to over all defense in PvP like Tough does from the Fittness pool?Or just S/L only?

Also, if it does or doesnt, whats the Base numbers in Def % for that shield?

Edit : I feel there might be some interesting builds for a Corruptor then there could be with Defender.I love my Defender AT, but they Feel more like Training Wheels when it comes to Corruptors.

[QUOTE=Werner;3040461]I'm not sure why people are jumping down your throat, perhaps because I'm horrible with names and spend most of my time on one forum, but you ARE wrong. But I suppose it's kind of pointless saying that without explaining why, particularly for other people who might happen onto this thread with the exact same question.QUOTE]

If I am wrong for having a diffrent understanding of my build, then not a problem.

To answer why they jump down my throat? Its simple.People need someone whos a scape goat to hate, and they chose me for a couple bad moments of behavior in the past...aka...being drunk and posting drivle on the forums while being ****ed up.

So I have a following of idiots who like to keep beating a dead horse, and like getting a shot in because it makes them feel better to do Forum PvP.

The 2 iv comment towards before you said something to me are a couple of them, but no where near as annoying as PC_Guy or Macskull when it comes to Forum Greifing and trying to gather people to there Forum PvP cause.

Edit : PC_Guy and Macskull try there hardest to say they cant belive they post on anything I say, but they make it a point to post on 95% of the threads I make.Just so they feel like anyone cares.

Iv acctually had a few people ask them why they are acting like thread jacks, and they never respond with much more other then its because Fire_Minded is <Incert childish and meaningless insults here.>

Unless the Damage bases on every attack was modified to warrant making Rage a BU, it would be horrifying beyond belief for Tankers, and make Claws and every other melee set better for Brutes.

In short, im glad they havnt, because im confident that th Dev's will **** it up horribly.

To that end, people have taken this pursuit to the extremes, such as soloing Pylons, AVs and GMs, even duoing a mothership raid, all without temporary powers.

By choosing a tanker, you cut yourself off from being able to do those things. Tankers are the least damaging AT, and unlike defenders, have very limited means of increasing that. So in a game so focused on dealing damage and feeling super, why do you enjoy playing a Tanker?

For me, it still is about feeling super. In fact, it's about feeling outright awesome. I've termed myself an "aggroholic," though I doubt I'm the first person to think of that term. I'm always actively seeking larger groups of stronger enemies. If I don't have to keep a finger on my Dark Regeneration bind, what we're fighting isn't tough enough. It makes me feel awesome to know that what I'm up against should be able to kill me, but can't.

That's not all of it, though. By being able to keep all that attention, I'm letting an entire team of people be awesome. Everyone can go full bore with their attacks and not worry about return fire. That makes me feel awesome.
Because after Mid-Levels on a Tanker the Following Applies.

Everyone you face is small and insignificant, and gets pummled for existing.

Then later they have the skin and flesh peeled from there bones and cooked into a stew to feed the Tankers need for MEAT!

    Or is that just me?

Defender would win you ****-eyed goof ball.

Id pit a Dark/Elec Defender agenst the Forum talked about Psi/EM any day.Or even a Rad/Sonic, or a Rad/Anything to be honest.

If your going into PvP with a Defender, you come prepaired. You dont stand there and let the Blaster nail you after its hit its BU+Aim.You Phase, then Mez it, Debuff it, and emberass it!

    Which to make?

Hmmm, I may give Inlvn a try with Stone melee...but which AT?

I have a feeling id have more fun with a Ice Corr then a AR corr, but I want a Fancy Gun from Ritki Warzone, and to be human, the other Ice build would be a robot.

    Thematic reasons behind it.

So my question is this, if I intend to load an attack with the Hecatomb and Achilles Heel procs would I be better off using Slash over Hack? I mean it's working for the Katana folks, right?
Ill tell you the same thing I tell everyone when they are deciding if they need 2 of there lower teir powers.....

Iv got a lvl 18 dark/dark Tanker, should I keep it or delete it?havnt played it for a month and a half.It seems fun, but I have 5 other Tankers already.

Anyone experianced with a dark/dark Tanker give me a heads up if itll be worth continuing to play it?

Note that the build I have posted does not have ED-capped damage in Golden Dragonfly.

Fire/Fire tank, FE and Buildup active, SO build
Greater Fire Sword - 531.5 damage, assuming all DoT ticks (not guaranteed)
    Incinerate - 417 damage

And I won't dispute that Fire Melee does more AoE damage than Katana. My first 50 was an inv/fire, and I still play him regularly. But a spines/fire or an electric/fire scrapper will out-AoE a fire/fire tank.
No dout, I agree that Scrapper with Elec/Fire will out damage a Fire/Fire Tanker, and you put up good numbers for the compairisons for the Kat and Tanker FM, but add in AoEs for even a ST situation between those 2 sets the Tanker will win in Damage.

    Get what im saying?

Edit : I also have a Elec/FA Scrapper, not playing him much, but he will be more Damaging then my Tanker, no dout.

You might be right, so it would prolly be smarter to make both a Traps with AR and Ice blasts and see over a few levels which is better for my playing style.

I may end up liking both.

Ohh how I wish they'd give us the option to have rifles and animations for Ice, Fire, and Energy Blasts

Id be happy to make a Ice Blasts Trapper if i could shoot all my Ice Attacks from a Gun..

    Your not far off.

However a Leather Craftsman is someone who assembles a Saddle, gun belt, holster, binocular cases, ect.

A "Tooler" is someone who uses a hammer and many diffrent type of Stamping or Carving tools to make a design on things the Crafter makes.

I am both, though I dont make saddles, and dont plan to.

Hmmm, is there a way to pull a picturew or 2 off my facebook to show what i mean?
  22. This makes me wanna dust off my ol Fire/Fire and take it for a spin!LOL!
  23. Its interesting that people belive Katana is a ST monster vs FM for a Tanker.

You may want to go and look up the ST damages on a FM Tanker. Its alot better then you think it is.

Iv been looking back at Katana and FM for the 2 ATs and have figured out a Katana Scrapper will only out damage a FM Tanker if it Crits for a ST shot.

Lets not forget FE (Fiery Embrace) grants a additional 10 seconds making it 20 seconds of 100% damage buffage for the Tanker provided its Melee is Fire based.

The kat/FA Scrapper gets that same 100% damage boost, but for 10 seconds.

So not only can the FA/FM Tanker use up 10 seconds for its AoE, but it can splash out 4-5 ST Attacks with the remaining time that FE gives an aditional 10 seconds on.

So no, a Kat/FA Scrapper cant out damage a FM Tanker...unless he crits with a big ST Attack with FE in effect, he wont beat the Tanker.

Just about the only time I'd take Frost Breath over Ice Bolt is if I had lots of global recharge.

For example, I skipped Flares on my Fire/Kin Corruptor, and use Fireball instead. I've got the global recharge to back it up (set bonuses + Hasten + 2-3 stacked Siphon Speed), and it's TAoE instead of a cone so I can fire it off when I'm in the middle of a mob after hitting Fulcrum Shift and not have to worry about not getting optimal use out of it.

Ideally, as someone else said, try to get both, but prioritize Ice Bolt.
Well, I find no real difficulty setting up a cone, especially if im running solo, but I can see your point for your Global Recharge Fire/Kin Corr.

I have little difficulty nailing 5-12 Things using Frost Breath on my Cold/Ice Defender, depends if in on a team or not, and I use it regularly. So I may be more used to lining it up then most would be just comming into the set.

Ice Bolt is definatly a Staple, I cant argue with that, faster animation, and longer range, but its still a ST attack. After you figure out how to use Frost Breaths Cone, itll fight right up there and add alot more AoE damage then just using Ice Storm by its self in earlier levels.

My biggest thing is even with Slow Animation, its no worse then Fire Breath, which many people take when using a Fire Blasts set.Just doesnt have secondary damage like FB is all.

Iv bcome acustomed to using Frost Breath on my Defender, thats only lvl 28 right now (havnt been playing it for a while), and nailing a 8 man mob solo with Sleet, knocking them Down, hitting Aim, Ice Storm, then Frost Breath. Most the mob get obliterated from that combo because Frost Breath does 2 ticks of 65 making 130 damage to the whole most (Most of the time I hit everything in that cone) the mob.

50% damage boost and -30% damage resistance and constantly hitting the Mob with KD due to Sleet makes the slow animation from Frost breath a none issue.

Like I said, it has its place.
