    USB Port Problem

You can also look cards up individually at GPUReview in the compare cards section. It will list the official maximum power draw down in the Details section. Of course overclocked cards will draw a bit more.
  2. First the HD 4200 is an integrated graphics processor, part of the motherboard chipset and it steals memory from the system. It's very weak, sub 30fps at 1024x768 in a window with older zones in the game, sub 20fps in the revamped zones like Atlas or Praetoria. This is with the standard graphics settings slider set in the middle, no ultra mode features but still relatively pretty (my folks have a similar HP that I play on when I visit).

The PSU in HPs are laughably weak at the 12 volts modern video cards need. Any video card other than the cheapest ones of the current generation will probably malfunction due to lack of power or simply shut down the power supply.

The GT 520 is better but it's really a card designed for Blu-ray and other video playback than it's gaming ability.

The HD 6570, GT 430 or GT 440 are 50-70 watt cards. Your PSU is only 250 watts and not a lot of that is available at 12 volts after the CPU, motherboard and drives are fed. Sorry but even a modest video card will need you to swap the power supply. I recommend the Antec EA-380D, EA-430D or EA-500D. They are the same size as the PSU that is in the HP which is important because that case isn't all that deep, front to back. Even the EA-500D is currently under $50 at NewEgg. Once you have plenty of power reserves, it opens up a fairly large selection of video cards for your use.

Obviously they lost contact with their base and had to figure out what had happened. They ended up travelling around the world for a few years looking for survivors and when they found none they decided to stop on some Pacific island and live out the rest of their lives there. I suppose that story could have easily had the disease be one that created zombies instead - might be cool to think there were subs still active like that in the Walking Dead story.
Vaguely reminds me of the novel On the Beach but that was about the fallout from a total nuclear war eventually wiping out all of humanity.
  4. I still get the "your master account was accessed from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" mail when I check my account info at my yahoo address but I still don't get any of the normal CoH mail.
  5. Waiting for all the other <Deadly Sin> of the Titans movies.
  6. It's okay. Like I said when I first saw it, it reminds me somewhat of the anime series Ghost Hunt with the variety of different things that will make you jump.

So yes, we get trapped spirits, possessions, ghost ships, angry jungle, dimensional rifts, creepy dolls, things moving on their own, cameras seeing what the people present don't, etc.

Yes, this should be a short one shot series. Almost something you would find from the UK. There is going to be some kind of big reveal at the very end that will make you scratch your head and wonder what the whole series meant depending how many questions they leave dangling.

Or the whole series could get really meta since it's a series about the "found footage" of the team that went to find Husband/daddy where they find "found footage". They could nest that concept indefinitely.
  7. I think the point being the Barsoom novels have been mined over the decades and various elements are found in stories and movies like Flash Gordon, Star Wars, Avatar, and other space operas.

It's sadly humorous that people wrongly think John Carter stole from those stories and movies. But like I've said, everyone knows Tarzan, few know of John Carter or David Innes (Pellucidar series).

Damn it. When did the devs nerf Steely Knives?
  9. When you can give better directions in Paragon than the town/city you live in.
  10. Anyone else have theirs going to a yahoo e-mail address because at one time I got them, then they stopped years ago and any attempt to restart them to that address has failed for me (changing the target e-mail address in my account and then change it back to my yahoo one).

It doesn't even show up in spam so I can't tell yahoo it's not.
  11. I would imagine those who accidentally learned that anyone could rise as a zombie after death didn't last long enough to spread the word.

This isn't Romero's original with the nice TV and Radio reports telling people to burn the recently deceased (an idealized calm government response with responsible news organizations) and more like a sudden nationwide catastrophe where local/state/federal response is muddled with the media jumping on every rumor causing more panic than reducing it.
  12. Sorry to hear about that Bill.

Welcome back, take your mind off of RL by bashing a multiple hundred heads. I find it more relaxing than golf or bowling.
  13. And next week I imagine they all will be forced to abandon the farm along with most of their supplies and drive right into laps of Randell's crew.

And where are the damn lookouts. And smart move Shane, wander around with Rick and end up a stone's throw away from the farm house.

You mean the barrage of commercials, sneak peaks and tie-ins over the last month wasn't enough. Well honestly I start to worry when I see to much advertising for a movie but I understand to a degree since the source material is a tad obscure.

After all everybody has heard of Tarzan but John Carter? Not that many.

  16. I've always considered the phrase "It would be nice if X was done" as a passive-aggressive way to imply that somebody isn't doing their job.

It would be nice if you had dinner ready when I got home from work.

It would be nice if someone top off the gas tank when they use the car.

It would be nice if someone took out the garbage without needing to be ask.

It would be nice if someone else brought the beer on game night.

It would be nice if Mid's was updated within 24 hours of a new Issue going live.

    See the pattern.

Mid's is a volunteer effort just as the rest of Titan's is. You can get all bent out of shape over something you pay for but don't badmouth, even indirectly, when someone else is doing you a favor for free. Mid's is what, the fourth character planning tool, at least the fourth I'm aware of (CoH Hero Builder, CoH Planner, SuckerPunch's, Mid's). What would min/maxers do if Mid's simply stopped updating? Would those players quit the game?

Sorry but that phrase really bugs me to no end.
  17. I saw it Friday with a group of friends. Like many reviews I've seen, our group was split on whether it was good or bad or simply meh. We went to a 2D showing. Sadly The Avengers preview was messed up color channel wise so it was all pink and green with horrible contrast, rest of the trailers show were fine, including MIB 3, Brave and Mirror, Mirror.

Personally I liked it but part of me thought they could have Conan it up a bit, but I know that wasn't going to happen with a Disney production (Dejah Thoris for instance is essentially naked in the novels but for jewelry).

Interestingly enough the movie was dedicated to Steve Jobs. I wonder if he pushed for its production or it was dedicated because he was one of the largest shareholders of Disney.

If it wasn't for the insanely large budget, I too could imagine sequels.

The comic book shop I use to go to in the mid to late 80s before I moved out of that area (theater is 20 miles from where I currently live) was handing out old DC and Marvel comic books, nothing memorable, overstock with stuck on speech bubbles on the covers advertising the shop. I got the issue where Thunderbird stupidly died due to pride, a reprint of X-Men #95, Classic X-Men #3.

No the official story is that they stumbled upon the time rift by accident, which may actually be true.

And sadly it may have been more realistic than space colonization or terraforming Mars. Pretty sure that the environmental collapse was beyond fixing.
  20. I laughed when it turns out the tower for the SD Teen Titans is a lower case t.

Nah, the news company would take honk their own horn and overstate their assistance is arresting the would be mastermind.

Overall it was a good B-day for Wally. However I would have thought that with all the planning involved in closing down a route for him that they could have had snack protein shakes the way they have watering stations during marathons.

    Need more Z.

  23. Well the three PhysX dlls are now nVidia ones, version 2.845.
  24. They upgraded PhysX so the game would finally support nVidia acceleration of physics since the PhysX API they used when CoV rolled out was an early adopter version of the the API that wasn't compatible with the version of the API that nVidia later ported.

It's obvious that updating the code to use the modern API wasn't quiet as easy as simply replacing the old function calls with the new ones. But that change took Paragon 4 years before they got around to that because physics like many features added to the game (billboard ads, cut scenes), isn't really all that important to the overall game play and therefore isn't that high on the "to be fixed" list. I also have the sense that they hired a temp to do the fix and without hiring him back, they don't have the inhouse experts to quickly understand the problem and come out with a fix.
