Quote:With almost all of my characters being Dark Armor, I have to agree that when it comes to stalkers the only real problem to me seems to be CoF and OG with hide, with that said I am gonna have to say, mess with my Dark Regen and we might have to fight >.>Heh. funny, the last thing I'd call problematic to a /DA stalker is its heal...the resists are on the low side, it's dark regeneration that makes it so survivable. With good slotting, that's pretty much a full health bar VERY often with just two foes.
Here I was thinking that this thread would be about the two obvious issues with stalker /DA: the two toggles that by functioning fully negate the stalker inherent, but which also supply /DA with most of its survivability: cloak of fear and oppressive gloom. If only they could suppress with hide, or loose their long animation? (the latter so the toggle/detoggle didn't eat up fight time) Ah, well... -
I can't remember who is was, but a while back someone posted a really sweet vid of a AR/Kin they did a respec on that looked great in action. Me personally I am a sucker for my AR/Dark.

I don't know what to say for ya dude, I mean you make a thread with a title asking who hates an AT, in which then you follow up in your first post that this seems to happen with every MM or Bot MM you team with, by the 3rd post you seem to realize "oh crap, maybe I worded this a little wrong?!" only to follow up on your 4th post saying for the most part that All MM should be seen in not heard, yes, I know now the words you used, but for the most part, about what it means in a not shell.
I'd hand ya a flame vets but seems I am a few pages too late for that. Best I can say is it's more of the player then the AT, I can't count the times I have teamed with a cocky Brute that seems to want to lay it down like their are the Lord and Master Foamy or something, oddly enough most of them SS, but this doesn't mean all SS brutes are like this! I have teamed with so many that are not, that when they leave the team (sleep, eat, work, ect,) the whole team goes "AWWWW
"
Best I can tell you is make your own team so you don't have to worry about a AT you don't want if you should still feel the same way.
Now as for THESE forums, sorry to say it matter no what Forum you post on! Make a topic about hating this or that AT/Class/power, and sooner or later the people that play that AT/Class WILL show up, and will more then likely NOT be happy with your topic, and they show up even faster with the words "Hate" "<AT here>" in the title.
I wouldn't stop posting on the forums, but next time if you need to get something off your chest better a simple title name of "Nightmare team" and you will be shocked how many people will show up to agree with ya 9 out of 10. -
I never really did get the whole "VS" thing, I mean outside of control, does it really matter which one you pick? One has back up buffs/heals/debuffs, the other damage. Me personally I would take both if I had the space. Both can totally play off of the others control powers ( I guess so long as we are not talking like Ice vs fire), meaning what ever is in need of being held/immob is done. One can buff the other or debuff whatever is in the way, while the other can blast it to death. Heck sounds more to me like a teaming of a "New Dom" and "Troller" is a lock and unload team, no need for "Tank and spank"
But really isn't this more of a what the leader or team wants not so much as two AT fighting over a spot/roll on a team? I have teamed with people who can't stand Tanks cause they think it slows everything down, or with some people who thing blasters die at the drop of a hat, as well as people who thing all stalkers can do is kill one thing at a time with only 3 powers, Hide+ Build Up+ AS=run get back in hide and do it again, so they never even let a stalker on a team let long even look at their team.
I could say something like they are wrong or living in CoX from 3 or 4 years ago, but this is how these people like to run their teams, me personally I am welcome to anything I can get! -
I am no pro on this or anything, but from the Doms I play, I'd have to say it totally depends on two things, 1) your play style and 2) Which powers sets you have. ON my Fire/Fire Dom the AoE Immob. comes in handy when used with things like Flashfire, also keeps them nice and in line for Fire breath! But on my Ice/Ice Dom it feels like a death trap to even use it. First off it totalyl kills the powers like Ice Slick, so I go from guys I could totally take out that are falling on the butts to guys who started off falling now are rooted and not too happy about it!
I also happen to have two earth Doms one earth/thorns and the other earth/fire. for the one with Thorns I don't have my AoE Immob at all, but do for my Fire one, so like I said it's kind of depends on your play style too. I am sure one of the players that know way more about Doms then I do will give you some great advice on the pros and cons of the AoE immob. -
I don't know things get kind of crazy when you start talking about making things harder. I have seen the MA missions where people blow through nothing but bosses, but most of the time it's just bosses that don't really do anything to make them hard. With that said I have seen some MA that are crazy mad hard, and they even tell you, "Hey this is hard, you WILL need a team, ect" Only thing is those people get nothing but one stars and stuff said like "This was too hard I couldn't solo it"
Heck I have seen custom mob made so well they turn a High power Purple IO'ed character into a level one rookie with one hardly working attack, they die two times and quit looking for something easier.
Heck call me crazy, but whats there a patch/issue a long time ago where they made all the enemies hit harder and have my hit points? But it was so crazy it didn't even last a week before people where asking for it to be put back? (I could be wrong on this!) -
I have seen so many characters that seem to have more then one origin which makes my wonder, why be able to pick two at the start of making a character? I guess kind of like (I know this is gonna sound crazy but stick with me for it) Pokemon (yeah even I can't believe I said it!) When the game first started you had your very basic types like Fire, water, grass, rock, ect. Now if you like at the newest games you will see that there are very few that are just one type now days, now you have your Normal/Fly, Steel/Fire, Ice/Ground, ect.
With Going Rogue coming out, why not? I have seen so many characters people make that are like Tech/Science, Nat/Tech, Nat/Magic, ect. I mean I can't see a real problem with it. I mean as of now the only thing Origins really work with is your starting contact (CoH), where you go to get your Enhs. the moment you hit level 12, and in some cases what NPCs may or may not say to you (Midnighter's Origin's quest). Heck you could even make it like a sub Origin, or a title like you pick when you get to a higher level. Or if Origin really become a big thing, make a nice little Arc story to pick a sub origin.
But yeah, to the OP I know how you feel, one of my main characters started out as a Nat. but then I started using a ton of Tech stuff for both costumes and story wise, and before I knew it she was a Nat/Tech! -
I have notice this problem too for the last two days, At first I though, eh, maybe it's just me, but after doing another bank mission this morning not one Longbow or PPD showed up, I even did the whole running the the jewelry store setting off all the alarms, flying around the whole map, NOTHING! Almost felt like a ghost town outside the guys that are ready there. I have also notice that when the Heroes spawn now they seem to take a full run to the vault room, passing you up and everything. I I not loved to be hated by the good guys anymore
Or am I just not being bad enough -
Thanks again guys! I will hang on to it, and see about slotting it up for Damage/End as soon as I finish off Flashfire and my AoE hold
-
COOL! That is good to hear, while it has being doing some nice damage at the level I am at now (20) Just seems to work more for a, "Oh crap guys are trying to get in Melee Range with me, I'll fix that!" type thing, but I do admit I don't have it slotted for damage at the moment, just End. (Still waiting to get SOs)
I think I will hang on to it then and see how it looks when I can starting really slotting it up, besides it's not like I am suck with it if I don't like it -
I have been working on two Fire/* Doms, one a Fire/Elec who is almost 30, and another which I am liking much more a Fire/Fire. With the Fire/Elec I Hot Feet does come in handy, but the way it's looking I might end up sticking with the Fire/Fire. The thing is I am not really seeing the need for Hot Feet on this Dom. Does it come in handy later or can it totally be skipped and not even looked back on?

One thing I never did get is what made Arachnos such "hardcore" bad guys. I mean yeah, you are a big group, you rule your own Isle and that is great Lord Recluse, but look over at Nemesis, the guy almost became "Emperor of the Americas". Heck I think that beats out ruling your own Isles any day! I woudn't be shocked if he pulled a fast one and the Malta where really working for him, but they didn't know it.
I am just saying if all the lead villains ever sat down to a game of poker, someone has some thing real to brag about, and not about that time they picked up a big rock -

I am kind of shocked that we don't have a badge by that name, now that I think about it
[/ QUOTE ]
A badge named "time sink"?
That's . . . yeah why don't we? lol
I think the "payoff" badge for 1000 tickets comes close though. The "ebil" smiley face on it always makes me smile.
As an aside, /sign to this idea as long as it takes minor programming.
I would actually like an "uno-like" game stick in there somewhere.
Or perhaps use some of our earned gladiators in a YuGiOh type battle game?
(Was kidding about those last two . . . or was I?)

Don't do a "uno-like" game then I'd never leave Pocket D!
"Who's in this next game? Wild Cards are WILD boys! DEAL!"

Are you talking like along the lines of the little mini game that have in EQ2 with the little goblin that gives you a ticket with two sets of numbers, the main at top and the numbers you get to roll over and over. Get a few of the numbers and you get little cash, get all of them and you get the big price, which if I remember right builds up over time depending on how long it's been from the last time someone won. (I could be wrong on that part, been a while)
Something like that I could see, ends up being a fair chance for anyone (until the number cruncher find out what makes it work) , a big pot win could set a character for life, or get them threw a few levels of SOs
Me personally I would mind something like this, sometimes it's nice to have a little distraction from the main game. -
SUPER MARIO BROS. THE MOVIE!

That's sweet to hear, finally got my SM/DA brute to 26, like it so much I started work on a Fire/DA brute, might even try a Elec/DA one day.
-
I haven't really seen that many Dark Armor Brutes in the higher level, and by that I mean I can count the number I have seen from two sever together on one hand
With that said I was on a ITF last weekend with this DB/DA Brute, and I have to say, she was ripping it up! While the power of Dark armor doesn't really shock me, I had never seen it with DBs before. I think she only died like maybe one or two times. Funny enough I think of of them was cause she went afk to get the phone, came back and forgot to turn armor toggles onHey it happens!

Is this like a joke thread or is the OP being for real?

Why does this matter so much? I don't see a point in changing either name.

Have to agree with this here. -
<.< just don't got the crazy masochist way I went with SM/DA. They tried to tell me but I wouldn't listen!
-
Hmm maybe. I have both a SM/WP and what I have been working on lately a SM/DA. A few months ago when I was asking questions on this for the most part I was told these two where super end heavy (SM/DA that is). But after getting to 22 with a ful slotted stamina and SO, I'd have to say it does really good. Only two of my attacks really need end slotted in them right now, and like a poster above said, with stone melee most of the time you are almost nailing everything in one to two hits. If I take this character to 50 I'd love to make a guide on it, but I am not so good with the guild making like a lot of the guys here.
But back to the point, I'd have to throw my vote in for Stone Melee as a good ST set. SS is nice, that is once you get Rage, SM is kind of nice right out the box. I guess it's more of what you want more SS or SM.
Edit* doh, miss that PvP part, yeah Go with SS totally! If it was PvE I'd said Stone Melee. -
Now this makes me wonder even more if this is a bug or a change. I did the one mission for Radio a few days ago where you have to find out who the this spy is, and the follow up is going after the spy himself. Not too long after taking a few steps walking in the guy already starts talking and heading for the door. I have done this mission a many of times before, but this time the text was not the same and he took off for the door before I had even saw him.
Well if it is a change I wouldn't say its too bad, but I don't even wanna think about that one mission red side with Crimson (sp?) Guy is like Sonic the Hedgehog on crack! IF he pulls this new trick I might walk in to see a blur go by -
<.< is this like one of those names you say 3 times and something good or bad happens?
