  1. My first 50 was a Kat/DA scrapper and I still bring her out to play.

As far as recently though I ran two radio mission teams in Talos on Freedom on two different days. First day after playing for about 7 hours I had 4 scrappers total (not at the same time) and the second time there was all of one scrapper. I have been seeing a lot of blasters and a number of Tanks but not a lot of defenders.
  2. I recently started a TriForm WS and I have been having so much that I have leveled her to Level 23 in no time at all. Once you have your binds in place and practice some different tactics, you will rock the map.
  3. OK, the 'making' in the title threw me off and I thought you were starting from scratch.

I woud definitely pick up the Gravity Shield and Twilight Shield as they cover your most common damage types. Stygian Circle is a must for healing and recovering endurance. Shadow Cloak and Superspeed will keep you pretty much invisible and you pick up a +Perception. Eclipse has already been covered.

On the other side: Sunless Mire for the buffs and debuffs plus a bit of the damage it puts out. Gravity Well is a Mag 3 Stun and very handy to make things not shoot/kick/whatever at you. Gravitic Emanation is a Mag3 Stun. Shadow Bolt and Ebon Eye both recharge pretty quickly and either should work out well. Add in Shadow Blast to keep hitting things from a distance. Dark Extraction is a quick way to be a one person team.

Additional Power Pools are up to you. On my PB I went with Fitness for the Stamina. But if you can slot decently and build with some +recharge with IOs then you might be able to keep Stygian Circle running enough to keep yourself filled.

YMMV and remember I currently have all of one WS so far but I am sure some of the more experienced members will chime in.
  4. I wound up on a pretty awesome PUG for an ITF the other day and my jaw dropped when I saw that we had finished it in 57 minutes. I think the fastest time I had before that was a little over 90 minutes.
  5. I am working my way through the storyline at the moment and enjoying it. I tend to jump back and forth depending on if I can find a decent door mission team to run with in whatever area.
  6. 1. Human form only is feasible on WSs and PBs. Some view it as heavily gimping the character but I absolutely love my Human only PB. However, early levels will be a big pain in the butt and so you may want to do Human/Nova until ~25 and then respec to Human only.

    2. Depends on what you want to do with the character. Pick an aspect of two you want to excel in and build around it.

    3. Eclipse is full of awesome. Perma even more so but by no means required.

Be sure to read the Kheld guides, starting here.

    AV Down!

    Congrats!

I picked up the Infernal mish and went in with my Kat/Dark and breezed through it all. Until hitting Infernal. kept dropping but then I took a break from it for a bit and went back in with a couple of IO sets and a whole new way to approach him from a tactical standpoint. Next time I breezed all of the way through including the big bad himself.

So we were dealing with a +5 AV and her spawn, and a large purple cloud of death.

The Scrapper side of me thinks, "Oh my goddess, soooo wish i could have been there for that one!"
  9. Kat/DA scrapper, first toon and first one to 50.

Love my newly leveled to 50 human form PB too.
  10. I have only one blaster, an Elec/Nrg. I have to agree with the sentiment that the game changes quite a bit between the early levels and later on as you pick up some really neat powers. When I started I out I basically just well, blasted anything in sight. But now I have these neat build ups, mini nukes, and am slotted to sap the heck out of a mob.

I am still working on my timing and learning how to treat each of the different mobs. With my scrapper I just jumped in and kept striking until everyone was "arrested". It has taken a bit to get out of that mentality and choose my timing, especially with TB (I have another post titled Knowing when to unload on the beginning of that tactical journey).

But, in the end, we each have our own playstyle and IO sets can help fill in on the weak spots.
  11. I think that the 14.1 in screen would drive me nuts on #1. I have a 15.4" on the one I use and think that is a tad too small running the game and will definitely go for a 17" on my new one next year.

I have 2GB of RAM and an x600 ATI card with 64MB (I think) memory and CoH runs fine on it. I just tweaked a few settings and while it is not as pretty as others see, it works for me. YMMV.
  12. I already have a story put together for a character and she is going to be perfect for playing Rogue. Cannot wait for it to be released so I can start.
  13. I have a storm/ice and enjoy using her. It took some time to learn how to really harness the chaos and use it for the team's benefit. May get a grumble here and there but after being the one responsible for stopping a team wipe, they go away. I have never used a cold/ice before so cannot add anything there.

Also, it's "ergo", which is the Latin word for "therefore". Not two words. :P

Depends on the usage. In the context in which you replied, you are absolutely correct!

However, a little more common usage can be found in this example:

The lightning storm knocked out the lights and something just made noise in the kitchen. At this point I will turn to the BF and say, "Er.... go in first. I'm right behind ya."
  15. The Bells by IScintilla
    Never Enough by Epica
    Bloodletting by Concrete Blonde
Our Town by the Human Waste Project
    Rebel Girl by Bikini Kill
Bruise Violet by Babes in Toyland
    Debris by Aria

Hmmmm, come to think of it that is my Scrapper list too....
  16. Tried out the combo last night with Ball Lightning. Looks very neat and is pretty effective. Also finally slotted the power with a single damage, an accuracy, and a recharge (basically just what I have managed to gain during missions, trying to save some INF for later). Result is pretty much watching a mob dance and go down on their knees with the Boss taking a substantial amount of damage and end up mostly drained. Going to try and find some time to pick up/craft some IOs for the TF we are going to do next week and see how well I can run with TB.

    Thanks all for the feedback!
  17. I run with a full to near full team constantly with my elec/nrg blaster. I can deal out decent damage when needed but also Sap too. I often open up with the snipe after the tank starts heading in and then switch over to draining the mobs as we steamroll everything pretty quickly most of the time.

And I have to agree with FF, KB can be a real personal lifesaver and can also help mitigate against team wipes when something has gone seriously wrong.
  18. Fun, yes. I do have Conserve Power and keep it going as much as I can. Since the original mob was pretty big I had triggered it right before the initial engagement.
  19. I had not used it often because with the team I am rolling through the missions with, it just has not been needed. I usually switch between sniping and draining the endurance of the enemies the the Tanks have under their control or the stragglers that have not been collected yet. But it was definitely worth having it there as an option and really made a bad situation survivable and that is all that matters at the end of the day.
  20. I am new to blasters and the Elec/Nrg one I have now 1) was my third toon ever made and 2) is the only blaster that I have in my lineup. I knew that she would be fun to use but for the last couple of SG runs I felt kind of out of my usual place. My first alt and 50 is a Kat/Da scrapper who was always in the mix and taking out well, just about anything and everything. Sure I could mix it up with some melee but I am mainly focused on long range.

That feeling of while happy but not ecstatic with her ended last night with a well timed Thunderous Blast. We had just finished out a really large mob when the next big mob was aggro'd and then we were hit by an ambush from behind. Normally in the back of things I was now squished in the middle but quickly found a good spot to fly to and then did the Aim+Build Up+Power Boost+TB.

What did not get permanently blown away was left with a sliver of health and either no or next to nothing endurance. I heard one of my SG mates exclaim over my headphones, "What was that?!?" To which I replied, "That was me."

So I think I am getting the hang of using TB now and used it a few more times that night but it was barely noticed versus that one incident. I so cannot wait to have her, particularly TB, slotted out properly.
  21. My human PB is close to 50 so last night I ran with a team doing Invincible missions in PI. One of the members happened to be a WS with Dwarf and he tanked for us and did a great job. My PB can layout some quick, heavy damage so I would occasionally steal a mob but that tends to happen when I team with various Tanks anyway.

I think with the amount you are willing to invest either AT will work out really, really well so it comes down to a personal choice.
  22. I have a Level 19 MA/WP science scrapper and going with Fitness and Leadership on Power Pools. So cannot wait for QR+Stamina.
  23. I am still laughing over the phrase, "frosted my cupcake." I sooo need to use that one. Somewhere.
