boo to sunday hamis, we cant attend

scrappers can scrap, alot of scrappers play solo in a team, in fact a lot of players seem to play solo in teams regardless of AT.
however i find that a team based scrapper is really fun and rewarding experience, do it well and you can come out of fights with a sense of achievement in a scrapping done well, x y and z all didnt die because you scrapped the hell out of the mobs on their cases.
heres a AT comparison, a empath just heals the top three of the team, a controller only targets bosses, both are doing their job but neither are doing it well, the empath that heals the whole team and the controller that locks all the mobs down do it well... a scrapper who just next targ next targ isnt doing the whole job, yep they do some of it but a scrapper that does this wont be missed in a team because they are effectively soloing in a team, a scrapper who looks after the tank by laying the smack down on numerous big hitting baddies, a scrapper who trims out all the chaff hitting the support characters, they do a good job. stand in the middle and hit stuff... to me that eityher means the scrapper doesnt really care for the rest of the teams aggro, or the scrapper is too high level for the mobs.
to me, the single target specialisation of scrappers means they have to be more aware of aggro on team members than tanks, as every tank hit is an aoe aggro tool, they have taunt aoe and they have their real aoe move too. -
reckon so
hopefully a couple others can hit another level so we can all be pretty close to teh top of the tf range for the end -
i'd just go for 3 recharge to be honest, its a really good power anyway, while running it i've not felt the need for that additional res slot that some people recommend.
as to using it all the time, you could tryi used it a fair bit on my invul tanks and its always great fun, i'd recommend either running hero stats or getting a really easy to see digital clock to sit on your desk so you can time the crashing right.
i found vs even cons and +1 it was hardly ever used because when you'd need this vs even/+1s you're over the agro cap anywya so it wont be so much use. however anything higher than +3 you use it more.
i found once you get the crash routine timed well unstoppable can be crashing and back to fully toggled up and full end in about 10 seconds.
my crash routine was just before crash go into rest and detoggle all toggles, then as soon as its crashed you can retoggle up - in rest (as the cooldowns over) and 10 seconds of rest later full endurance.
if you're feeling lucky when in rest you can sometimes get away with not detoggling as the rest tick is high enough to stop the end crash detoggling you. -
sorry i know that didnt really help any
i think the two scrapper primaries play much different, claws strengths are in knocking down the opponent and fast attacks, the use of the build up attack really helps to amp the damage up too.
i've finally succumbed and made myself a katana scrapper, they are only 6 so i cant talk authoritively on them however it was watching the supreme damage from other high level katana scrappers that made me want one -
katanas damage output is great, it doenst have so much of the slowness of broadsword.
Claws really comes into its own when you get focus and shockwave. when i was teamed with a claws/DA it seemed endurance was the real trauma on the build. -
dinners in so its just a matter of getting home in time, so we're ready for freak bashing
-
when i was dual forming it i found the slots to be a squeeze but they were still effective slotting all the human powers i wanted and the dwarf forms powers were all 4-5 slotted which was enough. going tri form the nova powers did only get a standard 3 damage slotted across the board, the dwarf got more attention due to teh slow recharge and endurance costs on them though
-
i found as others, a well timed footstomp before the crash eliminates half the crash time anyway.
mostly its bad when you run into a new group and it crashes straight away, doh -
yep its worth it
i only noticed it when it crashed at the same time as haste. -
i slotted 2 acc after 3vp, its defacto slotting on all my tanks now, copes with all debuffs, even on my tauntys i still find gauntlet and other side effects more important
-
i just went for 2 ACC 3 Recharge and 1 end reducer
-
fault - i found it rubbish at first pick until i respecced it in at 27 and 6 slotted it, 2 acc, 2 recharge and 2 end reducers. its my primary power in stone melee, link it with siesmic smash for the whole group whammy
tremor i have found to be rather more dangerous because of the animation time - being a squishy fire tank i take way too much damage in the animation of tremor, if i had to drop either i'd drop tremor.
standard attack is fault - buildup - tremor - burn - fault - siesmic smash, with no powerdowntime between them -
good work everyone
was good fun
-
youch, keep it ice packed - but not in the door this time!
-
not really, a warshade can specialise in disorients, mine certainly did. while i do agree that not making it dual or triform misses out on a lot, it is still viable and fun, without the forms its a lot harder though and a lot more team dependant i found.
i enjoy it both formed and human, human most though because of the variety that the human form brings. -
looks like the Iron Monkeys will be fielding a team too
-
hey there!
the thing that jumps out at me is stygian circle, grab this as soon as possible rather than acrobatics.
second thing, i'd look at whether you really need nebulous form or not - if you're intent on it swap it for eclipse, eclipse is more important.
at the time i took nebulous i was a primary human WS with dwarf backup but after about 3 levels of not using nebulous form at all i specced it out. once you're up at that level you're pretty tough, could swap it for shadow cloak maybe, that'll give you a +perception boost too...
rest of it is just slotting changes but those i think you'll feel for yourself as you play it
*edit: i thought that superjump/acrobatics would be a must for my WS but i did find that there were only a few times where i wished i'd had it. I went hasten / ss as this stacked with shadow cloak and also gave the long recharge powers a good boost. i played around with loads of builds but eventually came to the conclusion the superjump route sacrificed too many powers at the wrong level time and compromised my warshades effectiveness. -
im not too bothered about the valentine missions so if they are still on the server feel free to do them without me
-
I wont be here this week, stupid business trip i have to go on
-
oh yer, erm, i didnt think of a story bit for her yet, its taken me 2 years to get this far
erm, the weathergirl off Boston TV... man thats weak
edit: i forgot Malware too, she was a technology experiment between the warshades and Boston Corp, proved to require too much maintenance to continue -

Well, it was kinda some time ago, so I couldn't remember exactly
What's with the "Boston" obsession anyway?
[/ QUOTE ]
it was a story line i'd been toying with to tie all the characters together. Boston Corporation was a rival to Crey but after a corporate coup by internal factions the founding father Boston was ejected from the company.
what is left are lots of Boston Corps expriments with cybernetic AI (the Gonk: Gonkeh, ExtraGonk, ProtoGonk and later the coup created Extragonk M1) and the Boston cloned super troopers (hardware, hardware 2.0) the failed experiments (Boston Detritus), the ecentric researcher who stole the plans and recreated it in her own style (Boston Software), the Company security office (Boston Firewall) the little monkey that was jealous of Monkey Psy's hero status and friendship with Azuria - this monkey was captured by the new Boston Corp and experimented on (Boston Lab Monkey) and finally the Evil cloned Lawyer who staged the coup in the first place - Boston Legal
I did make a Detroit Hardware as Bostons arch nem but the class i picked for him was rubbish and i've yet to revive it
think that covers almost all them -
tri form as in human/nova/dwarf - i didnt think people counted nebulous form as a real form anymore.
the variety i find is you can build up nova blast loads and then drop to dwarf to catch the incoming damage and go foot stomp them over, nova and blast some more.
on the PB unless i explicitly go out of my way to use a human power then it has not much to offer, this will probably change around 30+ as Maelwys says, certainly thats when my warshade really took off too. -
if you tri form a pb you dont actually need any additional powerpools at all, it has it all.
i've currently got two on the go (after i enjoyed the challenge of the warshade so much), ones triform and has it easy, the other is human only so far (will take dwarf) but shes quite tricky to play.
i think warshades have more reason to swap forms than peacebringers; which is probably where the monotinany (sp!) comes in, once in squid theres no reason to drop back to human other than to heal and a tiny duration build up.
i find them quite a high contrast to my warshade playing. -
no probs dude, you missed an EPIC mission in striga, it took about an hour to complete it!
we made it close to 22, i think people were about a bub off it.
