Stone Melee

Ok I have experienced the diabolical power (imo) that is Fault. I ain't really that bothered in being swayed into taking it either because Stalagmites will be far more handy for me later on from the epics if I really want a stun. The real point to this post is I really wanna know is Tremor anything like Fault because if it is I am not going to take it. I took Hurl Boulder which I have fallen in love with, dropping fliers and getting runners whilst Taunt is down. I am still trying to decide between epics (which I have on my troller and I do like different powers on different alts) or taking the Presence pool even tho I realise the fears aren't that long in duration they last longer than Faults stunability from what I have experienced.

First off: Stalagmites is rubbish. Huuuge recharge, and it's only a % chance of stunning. Second, how's fault slotted? It's not That bad. From what I hear, Tremor is a good AoE attack.

Don't take presence, invoke panic sucks compared to fault.

Invoke panic does have 10.43 second fear instead of fault's 9.536 second Stun. (Base numbers at L50). However, Panic has 60 second recharge compared to fault's 20 (That's right, fault can be perma), has double the END cost, applies fear which is inferior to stun, ANd doesn't have fault's 50% chance of affecting lieut's as well as minions.

As for tremor, it's footstomp lite, lower damage but lower recharge and end cost as well.

fault - i found it rubbish at first pick until i respecced it in at 27 and 6 slotted it, 2 acc, 2 recharge and 2 end reducers. its my primary power in stone melee, link it with siesmic smash for the whole group whammy

tremor i have found to be rather more dangerous because of the animation time - being a squishy fire tank i take way too much damage in the animation of tremor, if i had to drop either i'd drop tremor.

standard attack is fault - buildup - tremor - burn - fault - siesmic smash, with no powerdowntime between them

Depends how you like to tank really. For holding aggro and keeping you alive against things like psi clockwork (plus general fun of making things fall over), Fault is the best power in the set IMO. I'd never drop it. As mentioned, stalagmites is pretty rubbish except as a ranged aoe taunt power. The long animation time on tremor makes it less useful than Fault but it does a bit of damage.

Ill take a guess that Fault is Faultlines signature move.

The secondary powers will vary to everyone with their different primaries. Id probably prefer Fault too for chance, magnitude and rechg. Footstomp and Tremor to me are in fact almost completely identical. To not take tremor would be like not taking footstomp.

Well I have been totally warded off of presence pool now and as for Stalagmites, I love it on my troller, but forgot about Granites recharge hinderance (stupid me) hence that is out so it appears Fault may make an appearance later in my build but way way on when I have nothing left to get of any use (Wasn't to keen on the animation seemed overly Large). Ty for all your advice.

I took fault early on and love it dearly. It's my opening move; tp into the middle of the mob and hit them with fault. Just as they're getting back up from that I give them a dose of tremor and they're back down again. If you're like me and like your mob to be tightly packed around you then you'll find there's nothing more satisfying than knocking 15+ mobs all onto their backs at once. Brings a big old smile to my face

I replaced tremor on my last respec for fault, and have found it a great power, tremor even when slotted with 3 damages is a weak attack (good when badge hunting lower lvls though) the extra animation time is also a pain. I would rather Fault-build up-stone mallet-heavy mallet-seismic smash 2 dead minions and a leut dead most of the grp disorentaed in the first 10 seconds secs.
Its all upto personal preferance i would have like to have them both but due to build constraints couldnt do it, but if i had to pick 1 it would be fault.
